Dr. Howard Kushner

Dr. Kushner is a native of Greenlawn, NY, a small town on Long Island. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. He also received his Master Degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany. Dr. Kushner is a member of the College of Vision Development, the Optometric Extension Program, and the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. He has been in practice for over 20 years, specializing in Vision Therapy. In addition, he lectures frequently about vision and learning and vision and traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Kushner had Convergence Insufficiency, a problem using his eyes together as a team. It affected his ability to read. Although he performed well academically, he worked hard for his grades. Even though the eye-teaming problem was identified, no one knew how to improve it. It wasn't until Optometry school that he learned about Vision Therapy and found the help he needed. This sparked his interest in Vision Therapy and Behavioral Optometry. His personal experience drives his approach towards his patients. Outside the office, Dr. Kushner raises his two sons, who are 13 and 16 years old. He frequents the gym and enjoys hiking. He can often be found with a guitar in hand. He loves music, and has played in various bands over the years.

Sherry Sherlock

Ms. Sherlock is from the island of Trinidad in the West Indies. She received her degree in child development from the University of the West Indies. She also learned holistic healing approaches from her life experience in the rich (multi)cultural diversity of the Caribbean. After college she moved to NYC working with children on the Autism spectrum. After giving birth to her under 2 pound premature child, she devoted her life to raising her daughter after she was told that her daughter would be low functioning. Needless to say, Sherry's daughter is working on her Master degree in clinical mental health at Syracuse University. Sherry managed a large men's clothing corporation. She was also a model and fashion designer. She is an amazing chef specializing in the foods of the Caribbean. She is passionate about dance and yoga and taught at the dance museum in Saratoga.
