I discovered permaculture whilst cycle touring and wwoofing around France in 2012. The hosts I was staying with at the time lived a permaculture lifestyle, advocated its practices fully and taught courses on their small-holding. I realised that, although the term permaculture itself was new to me, many of its theories and practices were not, and that there was so much more I could do to incorporate it into the transient lifestyle I was living at the time... Returning to England (supposedly just for Christmas before continuing cycling on into Spain), I decided to enrol onto a permaculture design course in Brighton. During the course (which ran from February until June), I went woofing around southern England, returning to Brighton every other weekend or so to attend the course sessions.
