L.A.C.E.S. partners with community leaders to identify vulnerable children. Once those children are identified L.A.C.E.S. and the community leaders work to positively impact the child's life through sports. We provide structure, food, and mentors for a full holistic healing experience... L.A.C.E.S. does not just enter a community and begin making changes. We form a relationship with the individuals in the community. This partnership is key to providing holistic healing for all the children we serve... Since 2007, L.A.C.E.S. has been using mentorship-based sport leagues in Liberia to reintegrate street living children, Ebola affected children or children caught in inter-tribal violence back into their family and social environment. Initially, we started our work in Liberia because of the damage and residual conflict that remained in the wake of their 14 year civil war.
