Adrian Scott

Job Titles:
  • General Manager - Operations
Adrian is one of our longest serving staff members, having been with Nexus for over two decades. He started in direct care roles, then moved into roles in program management, systems development, human resources and training. In 2020 he was promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer, retitled General Manager Operations, and has made a big impact in streamlining operating processes across the organisation. This has ensured that both staff and clients are receiving the support they need.

Annette Clark

Job Titles:
  • General Manager People and Practice
Annette came onboard in 2021 as our first General Manager People and Practice to oversee our people, culture and quality team. With over 12 years experience working in the not-for-profit sector Annette brings a very personable approach to the role, enjoying getting to know staff and clients and celebrating their successes and supporting them through challenges.

Beck Bewley

Job Titles:
  • Manager - Complex and Individualised Support
Beck joined Nexus in April 2019 to manage our newly created Complex and Individualised Support (NCIS) team.

Catherine McNeice

Job Titles:
  • Manager - Community Service
Catherine has had an outstanding career progression during her time at Nexus. She initially joined Nexus as a support worker with our Capacity Building team in 2015, then became a Team Leader, Assistant Manager and is now Manager of Community Service. Catherine brings with her a passion for building capacity, independence and employment opportunities for people living with disability.

Gail Ward - Chairman

Job Titles:

  • Executive Director
Gail is the Executive Director, Safety & Quality, Statewide Mental Health Services and was awarded the Public Service Medal for outstanding public service to breast cancer screening in Tasmania in the 2018 Australia Day Honours List. Gail has a personal and professional interest in supporting quality disability services, and her knowledge and expertise in health service delivery is a great asset to the board.

Garry Bailey

Job Titles:
  • Board Member and Public Officer
After working as a reporter, and then editor, of the Mercury and Sunday Tasmania newspapers, Garry brings to the board a depth of media knowledge that is hard to find. He now supports a number of organisations with their media and advocacy, and works with a number of groups on a voluntary basis.

Garth Clayton

Job Titles:
  • Member of the Board
Garth joined the Nexus board in 2019. He worked in senior roles in State and Commonwealth agencies and has since run an organisational development consulting business for the last 15 years. Garth has a strong focus and interest in building leadership capability and creating supportive, high-performance cultures. He also volunteers in the disability sector and refugee support areas.

Jackie Gregory

Job Titles:
  • Manager - Customised Employment
Jackie joined Nexus in December 2014 to create the Community Services (CS) team. Jackie had previously worked in the industry in a community access area with a focus on, and passion for, inclusion particularly in employment. The opportunity to create a new division of Nexus arose in 2020 and she now heads up the Customised Employment (CE) team.

Louise Sullivan

  • Manager - Supported Living
Louise joined Nexus in July 2022 to manage our largest team, Support Living. Louise has worked in the disability sector for 14 years and has had a combination of State and National Management roles in this time. Louise is known for the passion she brings to her role and for being client focused. Louise also wants to bring out the best in her team and enjoys working with them to ensure that our participants live safe and happy lives.

Marcus Pringle Jones

Marcus joined the Nexus board in 2015, bringing with him a strong commitment to community organisations. Currently working for Bell Potter Securities, Marcus has dedicated time to being on the advisory committee for the Salvation Army, a board member of the White Cloud Foundation and a committee member of the Sandy Bay Regatta.

Mark Jessop - CEO

Job Titles:

Mark has had a commitment to supporting people to engage in their community since early in his career. As a psychologist he worked in employment services and supported people to enter award wage employment. Mark joined Nexus in 2013 and has overseen the growth in supported living services, and the development of new programs across all of our services. In addition to the disability field, Mark has also managed youth justice services, child protection and a business consulting firm giving him a range of experience that he brings to his role as CEO.

Matt Cook

Matt joined Nexus in 2021, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the disability sector. Since arriving, Matt has grown and solidified the Nexus Finance team and is keeping the organisation on course for continued financial growth.

Peter West

Job Titles:
  • Member of the Board
  • Development and Communication Specialist
Peter is an audience development and communication specialist and is General Manager of Optus in Tasmania. Peter has been fortunate in his working life to help change and grow some of our most challenging and loved organisations - such as the Tasmanian Football League, the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and RSPCA Tasmania. He is a founding board member of the not-for-profit charity - Water for a Village (providing clean fresh water to Ethiopian villages), Deputy Chairperson of the Wrest Point Sandy Bay Regatta Association and is a member of the Australian Olympic Team Appeal Committee.

Renee Spencer

  • Managing Director of Tremayne Fay Rheinberger Law Firm
Renee is the Managing Director of Tremayne Fay Rheinberger law firm in Hobart. She has been honing her law career for 20 years, bringing a wealth of experience to Nexus. Since 2004, Renee has specialised in civil litigation, assisting both private and corporate clients in various areas, including insurance, personal injury, workers' compensation, motor vehicle accidents, professional conduct, workplace relations, and building and construction. In recognition of her expertise, Renee was honoured as a Preeminent lawyer in the 2023 Doyle's Guide Leading Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution Lawyers - Tasmania. Renee has served as a board member for several not-for-profit organizations, reflecting her commitment to community service. At Nexus, she is passionate about contributing to an organization that does meaningful work in the community. Apart from her professional commitments, Renee, a mother of two, loves spending quality time with her family.

Tony Giacon

Tony joined the Nexus board with a background in business management. He is currently the CEO of the Bleasel Group but also has experience in disability enterprises having served for over 13 years on the management committee of St Vincent Industries (The Rag Shop). Tony is committed to enabling every member of our community to reach their full potential, with a particular focus in the area of disability.
