Jonas Ahlblad - CIO

Jonas is a central figure in the Finnish real estate transaction market. He has been involved in many of the largest transactions during the past 20 years. Prior to co-founding Sirius, Jonas was co-head of investments and a member of the management board at Sveafastigheter. Heading the Finnish investment team, he was responsible for all investments in Finland, including transactions and investment management. Before his time at Sveafastigheter, Jonas founded and headed the Finnish operations of Leimdörfer (currently Nordanö), the leading financial adviser within property related transactions in the Nordic countries. Shortly after being founded in 2006, Leimdörfer became the market leader in high-profile real estate transactions in the Finnish market. Before launching Leimdörfer, Jonas worked with real estate and M&A transactions at Advium Corporate Finance. He has an MSc in Economics and Business and a CEFA Certificate from Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki.

Matti-Pekka Sävelkoski - CFO

Matti-Pekka is one of Finland's leading professionals in raising debt financing for real estate acquisitions. He has significant experience from both investments and banking. Prior to co-founding Sirius, Matti-Pekka was responsible for all debt financing in Finland and the Baltics at Sveafastigheter. During this period, Matti-Pekka negotiated and executed loan facilities with Nordic and international banks amounting to some 400 million, including acquisition financing, refinancing and capex facilities. He also acted as the responsible investment manager for selected investments. Before assuming his position at Sveafastigheter, Matti-Pekka was Vice President at the German property financier Aareal Bank in Helsinki and Stockholm. He held a key role in underwriting new loans to international real estate investors in Finland, as well as managing the bank's sizeable loan portfolio. Before entering the real estate industry, Matti-Pekka worked as a finance lawyer at Nokia Corporation. Matti-Pekka holds an MSc in Economics and Business from Helsinki School of Economics and an MSc in Law from University of Helsinki.

Nina Cainberg

Nina is a true multi-talent. She started her career at HGR Property Partners with Patrick in early 2007. At HGR she worked as a transaction analyst and was also responsible for the office leasing. She then continued her career at Sveafastigheter in Stockholm at the end of 2008, where she carried out leasing activities being responsible for the re-letting of a large vacated retail portfolio. When Sveafastigheter opened up its office in Helsinki in 2010, she joined Patrick, Jonas and Matti-Pekka in Helsinki, first as an associate in the investment team. In January 2013, she was appointed head of fund administration for all three funds, where she was responsible for all internal and external reporting and administration with a special emphasis on investor relations. At Sirius, Nina is responsible for fund administration and investor reporting. Nina holds an MSc in Economics and Business Administration from Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki.

Patrick Gylling - CEO

Patrick is a true entrepreneur at heart. He is considered a key player in placing the Finnish real estate market on the map with global real estate investors. Prior to co-founding Sirius, he was a partner at Sveafastigheter. Initially, he was responsible for the investment operations of the firm, as well as for the Helsinki office, and noted as being central to the investor relations and fundraising. In 2013 Patrick was appointed CEO. Before the years with Sveafastigheter, Patrick co-founded the property investment and development company HGR Property Partners. The company was elected one of the 10 most successful companies in Finland by the leading Finnish business newspaper, Kauppalehti, as well as the Best Finnish Developer and Best Finnish Investment Manager by Euromoney. Patrick has also an extensive background in real estate investment banking, both nationally and internationally, through his employments at Morgan Stanley and MSREF & MSRESS funds in London and Advium Corporate Finance in Helsinki. He holds an MSc in Economics and Business from Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki.

Saku-Matti Koponen

Saku-Matti strives for development and finding solutions to complex questions. He has an extensive career within structuring and tax, with more than 9 years of experience from that field. Prior to joining Sirius, he was a senior Tax Manager and local partner at EY in Helsinki, working with matters relating to transaction tax, tax due diligence, tax structuring and corporate income tax. During his time at EY, he specialized in questions relating to real estate sector and advised eg. Sirius on eg. tax and structuring matters both concerning both the Sirius funds and the listed company Cibus. His clients included high profile international real estate investors and he has advised investors in multiple over EUR 100 million real estate transactions. During 2015-2017 he was a Tax Manager at Finnair. He was also member of Finnair's investment committee and project manager for record to report (R2R) development projects. Saku-Matti joined Sirius in March 2021. He is responsible for tax, structuring, reporting and fund administration. Saku-Matti holds an MSc in Administration Sciences, Tax Law from University of Eastern Finland, where he still acts as an annual guest lecturer in a course on corporate income tax.

Stefan Wiklund

Stefan is widely recognized as a trusted business partner and as a professional real estate investor. He has an extensive experience in the Finnish real estate market. He has been involved in many transactions during the past 20 years, acting as investor and as financial and legal advisor. Prior to joining Sirius, he was the co-founder of Bank of Åland´s real estate team establishing the first open-ended real estate fund in Finland investing in apartments and ground leases with a total value of approximately EUR 1.3 billion. Before entering the fund management business, he worked as CEO of real estate company Arcada Nova, as lawyer at Bird & Bird and Borenius, as financial advisor at HLP Corporate finance in Helsinki and at BNP Paribas in London. Stefan joined Sirius in January 2021. At Sirius, Stefan is responsible for investments. Stefan holds an MSc in Law from University of Helsinki.

Thomas Castrén

Thomas has an extensive experience in the Finnish real estate market and is a reputable real estate investor with an exceptional track record of creating new investment solutions. He worked for six years together with Mr. Stefan Wiklund at the Bank of Åland's open-ended residential and ground lease funds. Together with Stefan Wiklund, he co-founded Bank of Åland's ground lease fund. In these capacities, he was in charge of the underwriting of several hundred transactions, totalling EUR 700 million in residential transactions and EUR 200 million in ground lease transactions. In addition, he managed a joint venture residential portfolio and was responsible for the successful exit to an international investor in Dec 2020. Before entering the fund management business, he had a career as a client executive at Bank of Åland Asset Management and acted as a real estate agent. Thomas joined Sirius in March 2021. At Sirius, Thomas is responsible for investments together with Stefan Wiklund. Thomas holds an MSc in Economics and Business from the Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki and is an authorised property valuer by the Finnish Chamber of Commerce (AKA, KHK).
