Allison McKibbon

Allison McKibbon is a Senior Client Relationship Manager for Icon Wealth Partners who brings value to the firm's clients with her high level of service and exceptional relationship management skills. Notably, Allison is accustomed to handling the unique needs of high net worth clients including streamlining existing investment accounts and assisting in the maintenance of wealth management plans to achieve maximum tax efficiency. Prior to joining Icon Wealth Partners, Allison was a Senior Associate and Relationship Manager at Avalon Advisors, where she worked closely with Mr. McGee and Mr. Pavlik for the past 5 years. Before working in the financial services industry, Allison worked as a paralegal specializing in litigation and toxic tort cases. Allison graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications from Central College in Pella, Iowa in 2011. She received her Paralegal Certificate from Rice University in 2013 and earned the CFA Institute Investment Foundations TM Certificate in 2016. Allison is an active community volunteer working with several charitable organizations including, Habitat for Humanity and Child Advocates, as well as serving as a member of the Judging Contest Committee for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Brooks McGee - CEO

Brooks is a Managing Partner of Icon Wealth Partners and serves on the firm's Investment Committee. Brooks' background in accounting, banking, family office, and wealth management has provided him a strong foundation working with high-net-worth individuals and their families. Brooks provided investment advice to individuals and families for 8 years as Managing Director and Client Advisor at Avalon Advisors. Between 2000 and 2012, Brooks ran the Family Office for a Houston family managing their various family interests. From 1980 to 2000 Brooks was a senior banking officer working with Houston based banks, focusing on middle market privately held businesses and their owners. Brooks earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Baylor University in 1979. Brooks currently serves on the Baylor College of Medicine Board of Trustees, the Baylor University Endowment Investment Committee, the Spring Spirit Baseball Board, and the Posse Foundation Houston Advisory Board. Brooks has been actively involved on the boards and investment committees of various banks, civic and charitable organizations, including Yellowstone Academy Advisory Board and serving as chairman (2009-2011) of the Houston Baylor Business Network.

He joins Icon after a 26 years in the energy marketing and trading business with a focus on managing risk for upstream oil and gas clients. Previously, he was a founder and principal of Briar Oil and Gas, a firm that operated production in 8 counties in Oklahoma. Prior to Briar Oil and Gas, Craig spent 10 years as Managing Director and Head of Energy Derivatives with MUFG Union Bank where he was responsible for coordinating and executing financial energy derivative products across the bank's $6.7 billion oil and gas reserve based lending portfolio. Additionally, Craig has held positions with Lehman Brothers, UBS, and Enron. Craig earned a BA in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin. Craig is a native Houstonian and has been active supporter of various local charities. He spent 6 years on the Board of Trustees for the Council on Recovery in Houston, Texas and is currently serving on the Advisory Board.

DAN SCHMIEDER

Prior to joining Icon in 2019, Dan served his clients as Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor with Morgan Stanley where he helped his clients customize investment solutions and financial plans to meet their long-term goals. Dan is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER TM. A native of Ohio, Dan earned a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Business Analysis from Miami University in 1977. In 1989, Dan earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. Dan resides in Houston with his wife, Jan, and their three dogs. Together they enjoy hosting friends at their country home in Brenham.

Jack Wiesen

Jack Wiesen is a Senior Investment Analyst for Icon Wealth Partners who specializes in portfolio modeling and monitoring, investment screening, and client communications. Jack brings value to the firm's clients by developing individualized asset allocations for high net worth clients based on capital requirements, risk tolerance, and investment horizons. Jack assists in building and maintaining financial and valuation models in an effort to provide detailed recommendation analysis and presentation materials for clients. Prior to joining Icon Wealth Partners, Jack was a Client Advisory Analyst at Avalon Advisors where he worked closely with the firm's Client Advisory and Asset Management teams; as well as working directly with Mr. McGee, Mr. Pavlik, and Ms. McKibbon. In 2018 Jack interned as an analyst at Morgan Stanley, within the Houston Private Wealth Management Division. Jack graduated with a bachelor's degree in Finance from Baylor University in 2019. While at Baylor he spent a semester as an analyst for the Philip M. Dorr Investment Fund within the Energy & Utilities sector. Jack is a Houston native and an active member of his church, where he is involved in several outreach programs.

James Pavlik - CEO

Previously, he was a Managing Director and Client Advisor at Avalon Advisors for 14 years, where he provided investment advice to high-net-worth individuals and their families. Prior to Avalon, James was a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Dallas where he advised corporations on a wide array of issues ranging from organizational redesign to prioritization of investment opportunities. From 1995 through 2002, James was an advisor in finance and accounting, including positions of Vice President at Schnitzius & Vaughan, a boutique M&A investment bank, and Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers. James earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Texas, completing the Plan II and Business Honors programs and graduating magna cum laude in 1994. In 2004, James earned his MBA, with honors, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. James currently serves on the Board of The Center for Pursuit, a non-profit United Way agency, and is a Board Committee member at Royal Oaks Country Club. Mark earned his Bachelor's degree in Finance at the University of Texas in 1989 and his MBA from the University of Texas in 1993. Mark is a native Houstonian and is a Board member of SpringSpirit Baseball, a local non-profit that provides life opportunities to underserved youth in the Houston area.

Martin L. Kerns II - Managing Director

Marty is a Managing Director of Icon Wealth Partners. Before joining Icon, Marty was the CEO and President of Kerns Capital Management for fifteen years where he provided investment advice to a select group of high-net-worth individuals and corporate pensions. In addition to managing client wealth, Marty served as a portfolio manager to a ‘40 Act mutual fund (2007 - 2021) that won back-to-back Lipper Fund Awards in 2018 and 2019 for best fund in its class over five years, giving him a unique perspective when constructing client portfolios. Marty is also a former practicing attorney, having retired as a Partner from one of Houston's largest law firms in 2007. He holds a business degree in finance from The University of Texas and law from South Texas College of Law. Outside of the firm, Marty has served on the Boards of the Guggenheim Rydex Advisory Board and the National Association of Active Investment Managers. He has been a guest speaker on Asset TV and the TD Ameritrade Business Network. He also served for many years as a commissioner and coach to both girls and boys teams for the Spring Branch Memorial Sports Association.

Mike Cregan

Mike is Managing Director, Head of Fixed Income Strategies for Icon Wealth Partners. A 30+ year veteran of fixed income management, Mike began his career in 1985 in Paine Webber's institutional fixed income group in New York City. While at Paine Webber, he worked with some of the nation's largest institutional fixed income clients including major money center banks, Fortune 500 insurance companies, and institutional money managers. In 1990, Mike moved to Houston to continue his career in institutional fixed-income markets with Underwood Neuhaus, and later Texas Commerce Bank, Chase Securities, and JP Morgan Securities. In 2002, Mike was recruited to establish, manage and expand Houston-based Avalon Advisors' taxable and municipal fixed income platforms. Under Mike's leadership, his group initially managed $75 million in assets and by 2011 was managing over $1.5 billion of fixed income assets. Mike and his team managed several hundred accounts for ultra-high-net-worth clients and family offices across multiple strategies including ultra-short tax-free, taxable and customized municipal fixed income portfolios. Originally from Philadelphia PA, Mike is a graduate of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA where he earned a B.A. in Economics in 1985 while playing on the Generals basketball team. An avid tennis player, Mike resides in Houston and is the proud father of 2 grown children.

Ricardo Mihaly

As Director of Planning and Investments, Ricardo brings a deep and diverse background to Icon Wealth Partners in such areas as comprehensive financial planning, portfolio management and investment research. His more than 25 years of financial experience, strong customer focus and investment track record equip him for his vital role at Icon Wealth Partners. Before joining Icon Wealth Partners, Ricardo served as Case Design Director at MassMutual Financial Group Texas Gulf Coast, where he served nearly 80 advisors in all aspects of the financial planning process. He was directly involved in the initial fact-finding, plan production, presentation and implementation. In addition, Ricardo served as the firm's investment specialist, providing asset allocation and investment analysis on existing and prospective client portfolios. Ricardo worked at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, serving as the Regional Investment Analytics Specialist for the Southwest Wealth Planning Center. He has also served as a Director of Financial Planning, Investment Specialist, Senior Portfolio Manager and Equity Analyst and as a Bond Trader. Ricardo is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner and a current member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA®) of Houston. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Houston and is also a State of Texas General Lines Insurance Agent. A long-time resident of Houston, Ricardo lives in the Heights with his wife, Joanne Gutierrez Mihaly, and their daughter.

Steve is a Founding Partner of Icon Wealth Partners and is a member of the firm's Investment Committee. Steve has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Before founding Icon Wealth Partners, Steve served high-net-worth clients as a Private Wealth Advisor in Morgan Stanley's Private Wealth Management unit with his business partner, Mark McAdams. Previously, Steve was a Senior Partner in the Financial Services practice of the global consultancy Accenture, where he served large financial institutions in the U.S. and internationally. Steve earned his Bachelor's degree in Finance at Texas A&M University in 1985. He is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor, a certification of the Investment Management Consultant Association (IMCA). He also attended the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago. Steve is a native Houstonian and remains active at his alma maters, St. Thomas High School (Houston) and the Mays School of Business at Texas A&M University. Zaid has a strong knowledge of the independent RIA space and excels in finding unique ways to bring value to the advisors with whom he works. His major areas of focus are helping advisors create business efficiency and scalability through process development and refinement, building multi-generational businesses by connecting with millennial investors, and developing unique and interactive ways to engage with clients. A Birmingham native, Zaid earned a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Masters in Data Analytics from the University of Houston - Downtown. In addition, Zaid has a post-graduate certificate in Project Management from the University of Chicago. Zaid lives in Houston and enjoys spending time working on his golf game, listening to podcasts about various interest ranging from astrophysics to medicine to markets and investing, and rooting for the Clemson Tigers.
