She worked as a postdoctoral fellow with a member of the National Academy of Sciences, Francisco "Pancho" Bezanilla in Chicago. She then taught undergraduate physics at Texas Tech University. Her work contributed to a better understanding of microscopic molecular machines from the gut, nerve and muscle cells that are drug targets and contribute to health and diseases. One of her clinical research projects aimed at understanding the complex processes involved during labor in the uterus muscle cells. It is at that time that she decided to fulfil her childhood dream of becoming a doctor. She enjoys providing care to patients of all ages and conditions, caring for the entire families, and importantly, providing gynecologic and obstetric care. She had many inspiring relationships that led her to chose family medicine, including her own family doctor in Chambly and Dr. Allen at TTUHSC as well as many others, including Dr. Klein who strongly recommended LHC in Littlefield as a unique family centered environment to continue providing care to the population of rural west Texas. She was raised in Carignan, a village adjacent to the small town of Chambly, in rural Quebec, province of Canada.
