Andrew S. Packer

Andrew S. Packer graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in post-WWII American history (2006). He, subsequently, spent a number of years touring the United States as a professional musician. Thereafter, Andrew graduated from the UCLA paralegal (2019) and joined the firm. He then attended Southwestern Law School and was admitted to the California State Bar (2023). Andrew is involved in all aspects of the defense of medical professional liability matters.

Elena Bravo

Elena Bravo graduated from the University of California, Irvine earning degrees in Criminology, Law & Society, Psychology, and Political Science. She graduated from Loyola Law School in May 2023. During law school, Elena dedicated her time to volunteering for the Young Lawyers Program, where she mentored youth on the benefits of continuing their education beyond high school. She is fluent in Spanish.

Gary Dennis is a Senior Associate with Packer, O'Leary & Corson, joining the firm in May 2021 after several years at the Los Angeles office of Bonne, Bridges, Mueller, O'Keefe & Nichols. Gary graduated from the University of Southern California in 2004, where he double majored in political science and psychology. Before deciding to attend law school, Gary worked as a mental health counselor for abused and troubled children. In 2010, Gary graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southwestern Law School. During law school, Gary served as Lead Articles Editor of the law review and received the CALI "Excellence For the Future Award" (highest grade in the class) in Criminal Law, Constitutional Law I, Constitutional Law II, Evidence, Environmental Law, Law & Literature, and Water Law. Gary was admitted to the California Bar in December 2010, and is licensed to practice law before all courts of the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Gary's principle interest is defending health care professionals and facilities in medical negligence lawsuits. Hilliary B. Powell

After earning her undergraduate degree in Comparative Literature and German from the University of California - Davis, Ms. Powell was admitted to the University of California - Hastings College of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2017, awarded with Honors. While at Hastings, Hilliary (not a typo: "Ask my Dad, he filled out the birth certificate information") , as a member of the Hasting Trial Team, won first place in the 2016 SFTLA Mock Trial Competition, and then went on to be a Finalist in the 2016 GGU Bernie L. Segal Mock Trial Competition and was a quarterfinalist at the 2017 Texas Young Lawyers Association National Trial Competition. She was a summer law clerk and then Associate Attorney in the Labor and Employment and General Liability Sections of the Los Angeles office of Lewis, Brisbois, Bisgaard & Smith, LLP. POC was indeed fortunate when Hilliary decided that the complexity and sophistication of medical malpractice defense litigation was the area in which she wanted to realize her goal to be a successful trial attorney. Nicole Rossi-Standley

Nicole Rossi-Standley graduated from Southwestern Law School with a concentration in Civil Litigation and Advocacy after completing the two-year accelerated SCALE Program. She served as the first SCALE Chair of the Board for the Trial Advocacy Honors Program and was also a Law Review staffer. After graduating, Nicole was honored to be selected as a fellow for the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) Fellowship Program, and aspires to one day join the association of experienced trial lawyers and judges. Prior to beginning her legal career, Nicole graduated magna cum laude with dual degrees from Loyola Marymount University. She was a Production Stage Manager for theatre and live events throughout Los Angeles and was the Operations Manager for a metal-finishing company in the aerospace industry (doing a different type of defense work). Paul M. Corson - Shareholder

Paul M. Corson received his bachelor's degree from Vassar College and attended graduate school at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received his law degree from Loyola Law School where he was on the Scott Moot Court Honors Board and participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. During law school, Paul was an extern for the Hon. Richard L. Fruin of the Los Angeles Superior Court and was a pro bono intern at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF). Since graduating from law school Paul has focused on the defense of physicians, hospitals and allied health care professionals against claims of professional negligence, intentional torts and related claims. Paul has defended complex, multi-district matters, such as claims arising from epidural injections of contaminated medications, PODs and medical device and implant litigation. He handles all aspects of lawsuits, from initial discovery, through trial and appeal. Paul, who was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Robert B. Packer

Now in his 44th year of practice, Bob Packer first joined La Follette, Johnson, De Haas, Fesler & Ames (Los Angeles) upon graduating from law school in 1976. While serving as the Legislation Editor of the McGeorge Law Review, Bob wrote the first comprehensive analysis of the Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act of 1975 ("MICRA"). The firm also specializes in representing health care professionals in matters before California Licensing Boards. Bob holds the rank of Diplomate in the American Board of Trial Advocates ("ABOTA"). ABOTA is comprised of the finest civil trial lawyers in the country and is made up of both plaintiffs and defense attorneys and is dedicated to the preservation of the right to a jury trial in civil litigation, as guaranteed by the 7 th Amendment to the United States Constitution. It is equally dedicated to fostering the highest level of competence, civility and professionalism in the legal community. A member must try at least 100 jury trials to a conclusion to achieve the highest and most prestigious rank of Diplomate. Ted O'Leary

On September 30, 2020, Ted O'Leary retired from the active practice of law. Ted obtained his Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and his J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law. He is licensed to practice before all the courts of the State of California. Ted's legal career spans more than thirty years, the great majority of which he has spent representing health care professionals against allegations of medical negligence. Ted learned the craft and then became a partner for sixteen years with what was then the premier medical malpractice defense firm in Southern California. As a result of his trial acumen and experience, Ted was elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates in 1997. He has been recognized by the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel for his multiple trial successes and was designated a "Super Lawyer" in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Ted has tried or arbitrated more than 50 cases in courthouses throughout four different counties in Southern California. In addition to having represented the area's most prestigious hospitals, Ted has defended a diverse array of health care providers in trial, including Los Angeles County hospitals, community hospitals, clinics, clinical laboratories, orthopedic surgeons, emergency medicine specialists, obstetricians, internists, general surgeons, nephrologists, nuclear medicine specialists, chiropractors and others.
