DARBY FLEIG

Darby Fleig is a dedicated and driven student pursuing an Associate of General Studies degree at Macomb Community College and anticipates her graduation in August 2024 with a GPA of 3.95. Her sights are set on transferring to the University of Michigan to pursue her major in psychology. During her years at Grosse Pointe South High School, Darby refined her musical and artistic talents through her violin, viola, and piano performances, and through participation in the school's choral and art programs. Darby's travels have taken her from Canada to Mexico, and across western Europe through ACIS's Educational Tours program where she gained many historical and cultural insights. Community service is a cornerstone of Darby's values. She has actively participated in initiatives aimed at driving positive change around her. As a member of Grosse Pointe South's Interact Club sponsored by the Rotary Club of Grosse Pointe, Darby helped to raise over $200,000 for the renovation of the Grosse Pointe Tot Lot, and partnered with the Gleaners Community Food Bank to provide meals for over 3,000 disadvantaged individuals in southeastern Michigan. As an advocate for Progressive Victory, Darby engaged in canvassing and phone banking to promote voter engagement in the 2023 state and local elections. Additionally, in 2020, she utilized her artistic talents to raise awareness about the Black Lives Matter movement via art donations to Wayne State University of Detroit. Darby is a passionate psychology major and she is currently acquiring valuable professional experience as a student intern at TRI Corporation where she will explore the integration of psychological principles in the business world. Her internship with TRI Corporation focuses on fostering leadership and communication skills, which she plans to leverage as she works towards her long-term goal of opening her own practice. Darby believes that this new understanding will complement her education in psychology, ultimately aiding in the establishment of a successful career. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Darby enjoys various hobbies, including drawing, painting, photography, writing poetry, playing piano, traveling, hiking, bird watching, reading, and continuous learning. GERRY MATTIA

Gerry Mattia has been associated with TRI® since 2013 and with GE's John F. Welch Global Leadership Center (better known as Crotonville) since 1989. Through Gerry Mattia & Associates, Inc., she specializes in design and delivery of leadership and team development programs along with a variety of creative management training techniques. These programs assist leaders in creating and maintaining high-performance teams in the workplace. Gerry also trains leaders in facilitation skills, change management, process improvement, presentation skills, project management, and with building environments that produce employee commitment and collaboration. She is also an executive coach, listening, guiding, advising and building the necessary skills to be a strong competent leader, and she has conducted her programs in locations throughout the world. Gerry has taught a number of Crotonville's core programs, which cover a variety of leadership topics and corporate initiatives for new and advanced leaders, executives and their customers. She also teaches the Change Acceleration Process (CAP) and has the rights to use and deliver GE's famous WORK-OUT program. She has served as project manager for their highest-level leadership program, Executive Development Course. Gerry also designed and delivered the Global Management People Program for General Mills. She is involved in a number of Dell programs, from leadership topics to simulations. She is certified in MBTI and delivers many other leadership-style instruments.

SARA CADRAIN

Sara Cadrain has performed in a variety of roles from accounting positions at large multinational corporations to financial executive recruiting and placement. During her career, she has continued to gain technical expertise in accounting and finance disciplines, while simultaneously expanding her organizational management and people development skills. Sara spent more than 15 years in corporate accounting with several Fortune 500 companies. A Certified Public Accountant, she has a broad and diverse experience base in such industries as financial services/insurance, manufacturing, and transportation. Sara has managed numerous business simulations as a TRI® associates. These include a variety of undergraduate and graduate classes as adjunct faculty for Fairfield and Fordham Universities and Manhattanville College; a virtual business simulation capstone project as adjunct professor for Forbes Business School MBS program; in-residence executive education programs across the world for companies such as GE, Dell and CA Technologies; Finance for Non-Finance Professionals programs at GE and Quest Diagnostics; and virtual business simulations at GE, Dell and Nielsen.

THOMAS E. CONINE - Founder, President

Tom Conine, Ph.D. is founder, partner and co-owner of TRI® and a professor of finance at Emeritus Fairfield University in Connecticut. He has been an adjunct faculty member of and consultant to General Electric's Management Development Institute (Crotonville) since the early 1980s. Dr. Conine lectures and is published internationally on corporate finance and investments. His corporate teaching and consulting has spanned North and South America, Europe, Africa, Australia, Middle East, Russia and Asia, for clients ranging from GE, Microsoft and Goldman Sachs, to Boeing, Cisco, Dell, Stanley Black & Decker, Quest Diagnostics and dozens more. Among Dr. Conine's specialties is teaching for the customers of his customers to help create long-term relationships in the value chain. His Systematic Risk Leverage Adjustment Model for Cost of Capital Estimation has been widely used by authorities in Australia during regulatory proceedings. Dr. Conine has consulted with the corporate audit staff of GE Capital Services on various theoretical valuation issues. His instructor guides, Finance and Business for Engineering Analysis and GE Cash Management Workshop, are widely used in the world-renowned GE Edison Engineering Program and various GE businesses. One of his risk assessment cases has become the capstone activity of GE's FMP Controls curriculum. Recently, he designed, developed and implemented Advanced Financial Management courses at GE devoted to "Growth" and "Risk." Dr. Conine is an active case writer on topics such as customer economics, risk management, international privations and meeting commitments in the financial framework of variance analysis. He co-authored the American Institute of Certified Professional Accountant's (AICPA) "Shareholder Value Creation." He also co-authored the customized CG Risk series for GE, Boeing, Microsoft and Praxair. Dr. Conine served as a faculty member of Fairfield University's former Executive MBA in Bank Management program.
