Andrew Moloney - Chief Strategy Officer

For almost 30 years, Andrew has led product, marketing, and sales teams in a range of hardware, software and cloud businesses for both start-up and leading enterprise brands. Previously, Andrew founded and ran a consulting firm for 8 years advising, developing and executing go-to-market strategies for technology businesses. Former roles include leading the SMB networking business unit at 3Com (now HP) and leading European Marketing at Information Security leaders, RSA Security.

Greg Bruno

While helping to develop an open-source high-performance cluster software distribution at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, Greg earned his PhD with a focus on parallel storage systems. For over 3 decades, he's been architecting and building clustered systems that have powered the world's largest databases as well as high-performance systems that have landed on the TOP500 list (a record of the world's fastest computers).

Harry Richardson

Harry is an industry veteran who has spent more than 25 years as an architect and programmer in both startups and the financial industry. He has primarily worked in security and high-speed distributed systems, but also has a strong interest in compiler and language design.

Jason Van der Schyff - COO

Jason brings both technical and operational experience to SoftIron having previously held roles in R&D engineering, sales and marketing roles with Heliox Technologies, James Fisher Defence and a number of early stage Silicon Valley companies. With extensive manufacturing experience both domestically and abroad in both consumer and B2B high volume products, Jason leads SoftIron's efforts in vertically integrated manufacturing and domestic assembly.

Katie Wright

Having studied at the universities of Oxford, Princeton and Cambridge, Katie spent 14 years in Financial Services in both the UK and Switzerland, across a wide range of roles from client-facing to back office. During the Covid pandemic, she pivoted to manage a busy GP practice in Cambridge, UK, implementing efficient ways of working and ensuring a high quality of care for patients. Katie brings a depth of knowledge in international business management and has joined SoftIron with a focus on governance and operational excellence.

Kenny Van Alstyne - CTO

Marie (Mars) D'Arcy

Mars is a skilled people strategist and operations specialist who combines her experience in organisational development, generalist HR, establishing operations and process improvement, to keep the wheels turning in the organisation. Her experience spans in-person, virtual and hybrid teams in banking and finance, digital marketing and tech start-ups but tech start-ups are definitely her favourite.

Mark Chen - CSO

Mark is a world-leading security professional, who has worked to ensure that security is the foundation of both our product design and our policies. Mark was formerly a senior engineer and security architect for Intuit, where he designed and built the security system for the world's first online retail banking system, and was responsible for conducting scalability, performance optimization, and failure-mode analysis on the system's high-volume cryptographic servers.

Mason Katz

Mason comes from the HPC space, having spent two decades building, and writing software for some of the world's largest Linux-based clusters. He built an open-source community around his team's research at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, and later co-founded StackIQ to focus on enterprise compute and storage clustering. Mason's first job was as an embedded software engineer, where he integrated first generation GPS units into a national grid of weather sensors.

Norman Fraser - Chairman, Founder

Previously CEO at dotFX Inc and Endava, Norman is a technology entrepreneur. Endava was recognized as the top technical digital agency in the UK and was listed on NYSE in 2018. He was also the co-founder and head of products at Vocalis Group. Norman has spent the best part of 30 years starting businesses in most areas of tech, including software, hardware, services and security. Along the way he co-founded two unicorns, and is hoping to make SoftIron his third. Norman holds a PhD in Computational Linguistics from University College London, an MSc in Computer Science from University College London and an MA in General Honours from the University of Edinburgh.

Phil Crocker

Phil Crocker joins SoftIron from Panasas, where he developed and executed the accoladed ‘Panasas Accelerate' Partner Program, creating an average annual 70% partner revenue mix. Before Panasas, Crocker spent eight years with EMC/Isilon. After co-founding Isilon's EMEA entity as Global Channels Director for EMC/Isilon he led the development and post-acquisition transition of the company's channel program, resulting in a $1BN annual partner revenue run-rate.

Phil Straw - CEO, Founder

The technical visionary co-founder behind SoftIron, Phil Straw initially served as the company's CTO before stepping into the role as CEO. Previously Phil served as CEO of Heliox Technologies, co-founder and CTO of dotFX, VP of Engineering at Securify and worked in both technical and product roles at both Cisco and 3Com. Phil holds a degree in Computer Science from UMIST.
