The station is located in Southeast Taiwan Strait with the typical subtropical marine environment. The annual average relative humidity is about 80%, temperature about 20℃, rainfall 1100～2000mm, wind speed 3.9m/s and sunshine time 1500～2100 hours every year. We have a 1000 m2 natural exposure field for marine atmospheric test in Dalipu Island, which is an ideal site for coating weathering resistance test. It is also one of two exposure test fields for marine paints approved by China Classification Society (CCS) in China. In the respect of seawater in Xiamen, it is semidiurnal tide, with tidal range 3.84 meters, the average velocity of seawater 0.20m/s and maximum flow velocity 0.67m/s. We also have perfect testing facilities for seawater environment tests, including four offshore rafts, one tidal zone platform and one natural seawater pool with an area of 1200m2.
