Anton Barnes-Webb is the Senior Banking and Finance partner in our Johannesburg office's Project Finance practice in the Banking and Finance Department and is head of Bowmans' Africa-wide Infrastructure Sector Group. He specialises in project and other financing transactions and mergers and acquisitions. In project finance, Anton advises lenders, borrowers, sponsors and shareholders. He has advised on the financing of large-scale renewable energy projects, projects involving the manufacture and sale of bio-ethanol, and public infrastructure developments involving public private partnerships. Much of his work involves acting for clients in African jurisdictions outside of South Africa including Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia. He has B.Com and LLB degrees from Stellenbosch University and an LLM from Cambridge University, UK.

Bavesh Pillay

Bavesh Pillay is a partner in our Johannesburg office Project Finance practice, specialising in Construction and commercial law. He has particular expertise in energy infrastructure and commercial property development projects. Primarily, his focus is on specialist "front-end" work involving the vetting or drafting of construction contracts, equipment supply agreements and professional services agreements (either as bespoke agreements or using the standard forms of contract, including the FIDIC, NEC and JBCC. Claire Tucker is a partner in our Johannesburg office Corporate Department, and is head of the Public Law and Regulatory Practice. Her Masters degree in Law and Development make her well placed to assist in projects involving the interface between law and policy. She has worked on a wide range of regulatory matters including drafting of laws and regulations, High Court review applications in respect of decisions on regulatory matters, the interpretation and application of statutes as well as commercial and transactional advice. She specialises in energy related matters and particularly in procurement and government contracting aspects of this. Claire has a BA and LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and a MSc in Law and Development from the London School of Economics.
