Ann Rutter

Ann Rutter is welcomed as a Board Member for 2020. Ann moved here to Grass Valley in 1979 and started working at the Visiting Nurse Association while becoming a certified nursing assistant. She continued there until 1991. At that time Ann started her own home care business "Ann Rutter's Home Care" and also served as an independent contractor with long term care insurance companies. She experienced many different areas in homecare including care after hip replacements, stroke, cancer and organ transplant patients. She was devoted to her patients and loved working with each one. Ann joined One Source-Empowering Caregivers in it's beginnings and was delighted to be part of the organization's mission. Ann states that "it is a wonderful feeling to give what I have to help make this gift to caregivers." Ann joins now as a board member contributing her experience and love to caregivers who are at home alone.

Daniel Whelan - Treasurer

Dan Whelan is a staff accountant at G & J Seiberlich & Co. LLP in Napa, CA. He graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in economics and a Master's degree in accounting. His interest in public service and community organization led him to join One Source - Empowering Caregivers. The organization's mission is important to him because it identifies a growing need in society that is close to his heart and aims to alleviate hardship with compassion and thoughtfulness.

Sandy Spurgeon

Sandy has 25 years experience working as a Park and Recreation Program Developer and Administrator in Lake Tahoe. She and her husband have lived in Grass Valley for 12 years. Sandy currently works as a real estate agent for Home Smart I Care Realty. She was ordained as a minister through Reunion Ministries 10 years ago and currently serves as a volunteer chaplain coordinator for Unity in the Gold Country Spiritual Center. The reason why Sandy is involved in OSEC is her love of offering spiritual support and empowering others in living their best life, knowing they are not alone.

Stephen C. Baker

Stephen C. Baker has been practicing law more than twenty years. Over the years, he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of cases. He has represented clients throughout California and has appeared before the Third District Court of Appeals and in Federal Court. When not practicing law, Steve is either busy with his family or swimming. He is an avid swimmer and belongs to a local Masters group.
