A Not-For-Profit Corporation has been formed with a mission of erecting a statue of "Our Governor, Frank O. Lowden" who served as Governor of the State of Illinois from 1917-1921. Governor Lowden served as a Lieutenant of the 1st Infantry of the Illinois National Guard during the Spanish-American war. He later was a distinguished law professor at Northwestern University. In 1929, Governor Lowden accepted President Coolidge's invitation to serve on the Memorial Commission for the national park at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota...
During May of 1899, Frank O. Lowden and his wife, Florence Pullman Lowden, purchased what was known as Sinnissippi farms located south of Oregon. The farm grew from its original 576 acres to nearly 5000 acres. After his term as Governor ended in 1921, Governor Lowden and his wife retired to Sinnissippi farms.
