Alex Piñeiro

Alex Piñeiro is a seasoned professional in the human services field with nineteen years of experience supporting individuals requiring emotional, physical and developmental supports. Mr. Piñeiro currently serves as the Director Affiliado del Desarollo de Diversidad (Affiliate Diversity Development Director) for Inperium, Inc. Within this role, he works to identify Latino or minority operated organizations that can benefit from an affiliation with Inperium. Mr. Piñeiro also strives to promote a culture within all organizations of the Inperium constellation of companies where individuals from all racial and ethnic identities, ages, nationalities, social and economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity/ expression, religious, political and ideological perspectives, and physical and mental abilities are able to thrive and be engaged. He continues to perform certain aspects of his duties in the Office of Administration for Apis Services, Inc. and acts as a liaison among the Inperium, Inc. President, Apis Services, and the staff. Mr. Piñeiro hails from Puerto Rico and is fluent in both English and Spanish. He began his career in the human services field in 2000, shortly after relocating to Reading, PA. In 2005, he began working for Supportive Concepts, an affiliate of Inperium, Inc., where he continued fulfilling various direct care and leadership roles. Mr. Piñeiro has been versatile throughout his career and has been part of several agency re-structuring initiatives. As a result, he has learned many aspects of various departments. Prior to arriving in the United States, he attended The University of Puerto Rico.

Dr. Vincent J. LaSorsa officially took the role of Executive Vice President/Chief Program Officer for Inperium, Inc., and Family of Service in November of 2017. He maintains his position as President and CEO of The Children's Home of Reading (CHOR), where he has been for 15 years. While at CHOR, he has successfully grown the organization to an over 15 million dollar multi-faceted regional, mental, behavioral and educational agency. The continuum of care includes 2 private schools, 3 residential treatment programs for adolescent boys and girls, an acute partial hospitalization program, school-based and outpatient programming, foster care and adoption programs, along with award-winning community programs that provide services to over 1300 children and families throughout PA each year. Prior to joining CHOR, he was employed at Kids Peace, The National Center for Kids Overcoming Crisis as the PA Executive Director of Community-Based Programs, leading all new program development and expansion across PA. He also worked in numerous Southeastern PA outpatient clinics doing private practice work, serving primarily children and adolescents. Dr. LaSorsa holds a Doctorate of Philosophy Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lehigh University; a Master of Science Degree in Clinical/Industrial Psychology from Hahnemann University (now Drexel University); and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology, from Beaver College (now Acadia University). Dr. Vincent J. LaSorsa has been providing services to children and adolescents for over 30 years. He has served on many boards, and is viewed as a community resource. He has provided leadership and expertise at the local, state and national levels on subjects related to mental and behavioral health, as well as issues related to children and families.

George Contos currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Inperium, Inc. of New York and the Chief Strategy and Legal Officer for Inperium, Inc. Mr. Contos has a background in law and financial services and is an accomplished health and human services executive with over 30 years of experience and a proven track record 0f success in executive leadership, strategic planning, and business development. Most recently, Mr. Contos was Chief Executive Officer of YAI, a role he undertook in 2015 after serving as its Chairman. With operations in New York, New Jersey, and California, YAI is one of New York's largest nonprofit providers of comprehensive healthcare, education, and social services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring behavioral health disorders. Under Mr. Contos' leadership, YAI grew and diversified into an organization with 300 programs, 4,000 staff, and consolidated annual revenue of $300 million. Mr. Contos has held various roles on several nonprofit boards and government councils throughout New York, including the NYS Office for People with Developmental Disabilities Joint Advisory Council for Managed Care; the NYC Mayor's Crisis Prevention and Response Task Force; the Manhattan Star Academy; and the governing entity of Partners Health Plan, the nation's first provider-led managed care organization exclusively for people with developmental disabilities. In 2019, 2021, and 2022, Mr. Contos was recognized by City and State magazine as one of New York's "Nonprofit Power 100," and in 2021 by Crain's New York Business as a "Notable in Nonprofits and Philanthropy." Mr. Contos received his B.A. from Tufts University, his J.D. from Georgetown University, and his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®) from The American College. He was born and raised in Manhattan, where he resides with his family.

Jennifer Gassen

Jennifer began her career in the for-profit automotive franchise industry before joining Inperium's first affiliate, Supportive Concepts for Families, Inc., in 2013 as an Executive Planner supporting its President and Board of Directors. Upon Inperium's creation in 2016 she was promoted to Director of Administrative Management where in addition to supporting the President/CEO she oversees the administrative team. In 2018 Jennifer was appointed Sr. Vice President of Administrative Management, Marketing & Development. In her current role as Chief of Staff, Jennifer provides support to the President/CEO related to the affiliation process, due diligence, Board governance, and marketing of the Inperium brand.

Lynn Kovich - CEO

Ms. Kovich currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Inperium Delaware. In this role Lynn assists in the business integration and development efforts of Inperium in Delaware. Lynn brings more than twenty-six years of experience in direct services work, administration and oversight in both the nonprofit and government sectors working with individuals who have developmental disabilities, mental illness, and substance use disorders, as well as those experiencing homelessness. Ms. Kovich has a vast amount of experience including development, operation, and management of permanent supportive housing in nonprofit work, as well as adopting it as a strategy in working with county and state behavioral health systems. Ms. Kovich has also worked to advance supportive housing as a recovery support for individuals with substance use disorders. Ms. Kovich was closely involved with the initiation and implementation of large system reforms; such as state psychiatric hospital closures, provider payment reforms and merging state division of mental health services and addiction services into one entity. She was also key to the execution of the Olmstead settlement agreements including service development, payment reforms and policy changes. Ms. Kovich was instrumental in the development of housing services and supports to be reimbursed by Medicaid for persons with a mental illness or substance use disorder. Ms. Kovich's overall professional experience includes: Alternatives, Inc. - 1989 to 2006 Lehigh County, Director of Human Services - 2006 to 2010 State of New Jersey, Department of Human Services - 2010 to 2015 Technical Assistance Collaborative - 2015 to 2017 Commonwealth of PA, Department of Human Services - 2017 to 2019 Ms. Kovich has a Bachelor's of Arts degree from Allentown College, now DeSales University. She also has a Masters of Education, Educational Administration from Lehigh University. Ms. Kovich began her employment with Inperium, in 2017 and returned in 2019 as the Interim Executive Director of New Horizon Treatment Services, in Trenton NJ. She was introduced to Inperium while due diligence was being conducted for NHTS and following her position as the Assistant Commissioner of the Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, due to a prior professional relationship between she and Ryan Smith, Inperium CEO. They had previously worked together in Lehigh County developing residential programs for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. In her current role with Inperium, Ms. Kovich focuses on developing new affiliate possibilities in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania

Robena Spangler

Robena Spangler currently serves as the Senior Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion of Apis Services, Inc. In this position, Ms. Spangler works to promote a culture where individuals from all racial and ethnic identities, ages, nationalities, social and economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, religious, political and ideological perspectives, and physical and mental abilities are able to thrive and be engaged. Ms. Spangler also leads training programs to enhance employee understanding on inclusions and diversity topics. Ms. Spangler has spent over 30 years working in a variety of child welfare settings and programs in various roles that include protective services, foster care, juvenile justice, direct care, management, program and staff development. She spent a majority of her career working as a cross-systems (child welfare/juvenile justice/ mental health) expert at NHS Human Services (now called Merakey). The implementation of evidence-based programs and services was one of Robena's primary roles while with the organization. Ms. Spangler was instrumental in the successful implementation, growth and management of five (5) evidence-based programs during her tenure at NHS. Robena continued her children, youth and families' focused work at RCPA (Rehabilitation and Community Providers Association) where she served as the Children's Division Director. Her duties included state and federal advocacy work, lead facilitator of the Children's Steering Committee and strategic planning for providers. Ms. Spangler previously served as the Bureau Director of Child and Family Services in the Office of Children, Youth and Families (OCYF) with the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS). In this role, she provided supervision of regional staff across the Commonwealth and provided direct oversight of licensing, inspections and investigative procedures. Prior to joining Apis Services, Robena was an Outreach Specialist at PA Health & Wellness (Centene) where she supported efforts to identify vital community resources for older adults who are dually eligible for Medicaid and Medicare. Robena has a passion for working with others who are interested in self-awareness and personal growth. Her most recent focus included working with organizations who have committed to enhancing their work related to DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion). She serves on the Board at Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape (PCAR) and is the Chair of the Anti-Racist Ad hoc committee. She strives to improve systems and the people within systems through principles of Transformational Leadership.

Tom Papa has been an innovative leader in the Health & Human Services sector for over 30 years. Mr. Papa currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Apis Services, Inc. In this role, he directs the base shared service platform offered by Apis, supports the Executive leadership in the deployment and integration of the shared services, and ensures that Apis Services is routinely pursuing its mission, vision and values, namely providing unparalleled customer care to the affiliated entities. Tom is a highly motivated and natural leader, bringing a vast and successful background to the Inperium & Apis Services teams. Mr. Papa has extensive leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. Most recently, Tom worked in an executive capacity at two of New Jersey's largest developmental disability provider organizations specializing in strategic planning and fiscal stabilization. Prior to that, Tom served in a variety of leadership positions within the NJ Department of Human Services (Division of Developmental Disabilities), including, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief Financial Officer, and Budget Director. Outside of the disability industry, Tom also spent several years at the New Jersey Office of Management & Budget as a financial analyst and worked as a state and local tax consultant at Arthur Andersen. Tom's diverse background and dynamic leadership style make him an ideal fit at Apis Services. Tom is a graduate of University of Delaware.
