Birgit Ottenwälder has more than 20 years business experience in Molecular Biology and Genomics. She is deeply familiar with the demands and challenges in Life Science & Biotechnology research as well as in the Pharma & Diagnostics research market. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology and gained her profound knowledge and experience holding different laboratory management and business unit managerial positions in the DNA analytics service provider business area.
As member of the german cDNA consortium she contributed scientifically to the German Human Genome Project more than 10 years. She additionally was responsible for the project management of many Genome, Transcriptome and Personalized Medicine/Diagnostics Sequencing projects using conventional techniques as well as Next Generation Sequencing technologies in publicly sponsored research projects but also in the industrial regulated (GxP) business environment.
She was always working and loves to work in a global business environment. Pioneering activities are inspiring and attracting her and she has broad managerial and team building skills and deep knowledge in developing laboratory units and new business areas to profitability.
In 2016, she switched from a service provider´s to a technology provider´s perspective and joined Hamilton Life Science Robotics as Market Segment Leader Genomics. She is responsible for the management of the current portfolio and for future technological developments in the Genomics business area of Hamilton Robotics.
Together with a group of experienced professionals she was founding Mountain View Partners, a network for Life Science Management, early in 2016.
Brigitte Obermaier has more than 17 years experience in managing a globally active company focused on DNA analysis in various life science market segments with customers in academia and industry. Starting from the beginning by founding the company MediGenomix GmbH, leading it through different development phases, she prepared the company to join an international network of laboratories. Manage business to profitability, find the right technology, motivate people and define the organizational structure were normal daily challenges during all of the growth phases.
Beside responsibilities in general management, her entrepreneurial skills fostered the successful development of new production units and business lines. One major topic beside others was personalized medicine and DNA diagnostics. Within her management career, M&A activities and successive integration management played an important role. As Managing Director she took responsibility for different companies and acted as a member of advisory boards.
Before starting her own entrepreneurial idea, she worked in one of the first Biotech companies in Martinsried as Director DNA Analytics. Her occupational history in the genomics world began at the gene center in Munich. She holds a PhD in chemistry at the university in Munich.
Together with a group of experienced professionals she recently founded Mountain View Partners, a network for Life Science Management.
Engelbert Precht has over 25 years of experience in business development, marketing and sales in life science products and services. He is familiar with the challenges of introducing innovative products into different markets and building up new business fields. He is a co-founder of Eurofins Medigenomix GmbH, where he was the managing director for 11 years. As consultant he has worked for Myriad Genetics, Skyline Diagnostics, OpGen, and Personalis amongst others. He has a network of KOLs in the fields of genome-guided personalized medicine, pathogen characterization, human genetics, and leading scientists, who apply NGS, gene expression profiling (GEP), gene panel analysis, liquid biopsy, and gene knockdown/knockout.
In January 2015 Dr. Precht was co-founder of the m 4 Personalized Medicine Association in Martinsried, Munich area, a network to promote discussions and information exchange regarding all aspects of personalized medicine.
Martin Schnee combines the experience to two different worlds: science and finance. Based on his scientific expertise (chemistry and biotechnology) he gathered strong expertise in the financial arena and technology scouting. Since 2010 he is director and partner at Breslin AG (Zurich, Switzerland) and in charge of transactions in Life Science industry (valuation, financing / business development / partnering / licencing, secondaries, technology scouting). Digitalization in the healthcare industry and helping the 'buds to burst' are also areas of interest. In parallel he is co-operation partner with fairesearch (Kronberg, Germany) since 2006 providing white label research services (e.g. AlphaValue, Paris, France) and is running since 2002 his own company SchneeResearch (Maintal, Germany) as a bank-independent research provider with broad coverage of European chemical, pharma, biotech, and medtech companies.
Martin Schnee achieved his doctorate in chemistry at the Goethe-University Frankfurt (Germany) and founded his first company in the 1990ties. Later he added the qualification as a Certified Credit Analyst and DVFA Equity Analyst. He is member of the DVFA (professional organization of investment professionals) and its Life Science Committee, which organizes an annual conference, as well as of GDCh (chemical society) and its Chemistry & Industry Section VCW. Since 2016 he is non-executive director of SIRION Biotech GmbH.
Sven Hoffmeyer has more than 18 years business experience in the life science and personalized medicine field. He has long standing managerial experience in diverse leadership positions and broad experience in setting-up new companies, business areas and production units. He is highly experienced in the areas of business development, project management and marketing, and has sound scientific knowledge in molecular biology, human genetics, and pharmacogenetics / pharmacogenomics.
Sven Hoffmeyer received his doctorate in human biology at the University of Ulm (Germany), followed by a postdoctoral period at the Department of Human Genetics likewise in Ulm. In 1998 he switched to industry and was a member of the start-up team of Epidauros Biotechnologie AG, where he filled positions as Head of laboratory and later as Senior Manager Business Development. During MEDICA in 2001 together with other research colleagues he got awarded the Galenus-von-Pergamon-Award. In 2003 he founded GenType GmbH, where he was Major Shareholder and Managing Director. In 2008 he joined Eurofins Medigenomix GmbH as Business Manager, where he was responsible for set-up and development of a new business area, beyond he was member of the Operational Business Team. In 2016 he was a co-founder of Mountain View Partners a network for Life Science Management, where he is partner.
