Jason A. Walls

For over the last eight years, Jason's legal practice has focused primarily on the procurement of patents and trademarks and copyrights, and on the management of Intellectual Property portfolios. Jason excels in learning new technologies and in Patent Prosecution. Jason complements well the Firm's extensive experience in a variety of technologies, with experience in technologies related to the oilfield and petrochemical industries. Jason has handled IP-related matters involving hydrocarbon retrieval and processing; produced water remediation; hydraulic fracturing fluids; wireline technologies, including downhole measurement, analysis, control, and communications systems; geological drilling services, including mud logging services and gas detection systems; structural engineering systems and materials; medical devices; and consumer products. Jason is also well versed in the chemical arts, having handled many IP-related matters involving polymer and material science, catalysis, plastics processing, composites, nanotechnology, analytical chemistry, and compositions. Jason received a B.S., Chemistry & Physics, from Lamar University in 2003 and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2008. Jason also spent a year of graduate work in Chemistry at Rice University. Jason is an active member of the Texas State Bar (2008) and a Patent Attorney registered with the U.S.P.T.O. (2009). In addition to "preparation and prosecution", Jason lends support in litigation matters and IP portfolio studies. Jason's practice focuses on the procurement of patents and trademarks, and on the management of Intellectual Property portfolios. Jason excels in learning new technologies and in Patent Prosecution. Kate Tran

Kate Tran is a bilingual Legal Assistant at Amatong McCoy LLC, providing key support on IP acquisition, litigation, and enforcement efforts. Kate is especially well versed in matters involving patents and trademark rights, and proceedings before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to joining the Firm, she held the role of Litigation Assistant for a Houston-based law firm representing clients in Family Law, Probate Law, and Personal Injury matters. Kate is on target to obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Strategic Communications, minor in Sociology, in December 2023 from the University of Houston.

Linda Sengvong, Sr.

Linda has over twenty years of experience in the area of Intellectual Property Law. Since 1997, she has worked in the intellectual property section of either a law firm (including Felsman, Bradley, Vaden, Gunther, & Dillon, LLP and Bracewell & Patterson LLP) or a major corporation (Chevron Phillips Chemical Co.). Linda now provides support to our attorneys in all aspects of their practice, but with particular emphasis on patent and trademark matters. She also has considerable experience in dealing with intellectual property laws and procedures, governmental offices, and practitioners throughout the world. Her responsibilities are uniquely global, regularly working with associates (and clients) in almost every country and jurisdiction throughout the world. Linda is responsible for drafting and filing legal documents for the U.S., PCT and foreign patent, trademark, and copyright applications through issuance, registration, and maintenance. She works directly with foreign associates and offices during each stage of patent prosecution and has acquired considerable insight into the procedures and nuances of various foreign patent systems. Linda's other projects may include computerized patent, trademark, and miscellaneous searches, legal research, and litigation support. Linda interfaces with clients and foreign associates on a daily basis and responds to inquiries on such matters as status of clients' intellectual property portfolios, legal disputes, and patent and trademark office procedures. Linda received a B.A. in Marketing from the University of Houston in 2005. Since 1997, Linda has worked continuously in the intellectual property section of major law firms (including Felsman, Bradley, Vaden) or major corporations (Chevron Phillips Chemical Co.). Linda now provides valuable support to our attorneys in all aspects of their practice.

Michael S. McCoy

Mike received a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Texas A&M University (1989), and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Houston School of Law (1999). Mike began his legal career at the international law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP, where he worked for close to fifteen years. Mike became a partner at Fulbright & Jaworski in 2008. He decided to leave big law firm practice in 2016, when he joined with Alberto to form Amatong McCoy LLC. Prior to law school, Mike worked for Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems in Fort Worth. Mike has experience and expertise in all aspects of Intellectual Property Law, with emphasis on technology-based litigation matters involving patents, copyrights, trade secrets, trademarks and unfair competition; counseling clients on a wide range of intellectual property issues such as securing, managing and maximizing profit from intellectual property; evaluating liability exposure associated with intellectual property rights of competitors; reviewing and revising internal controls for intellectual property such as employment, confidentiality and non-compete agreements; and providing due diligence support for mergers and acquisitions involving intellectual property; and patent and trademark prosecution. Mike has acquired experience and expertise in all aspects of Intellectual Property Law, with emphasis in technology-based litigation matters involving patents, copyrights, trade secrets, trademarks and unfair competition.
