Dr. Angela Demeter

Dr. Angela Demeter obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University. She completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto where she was chosen to participate in a dental externship program at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. After completion of a General practice hospital residency in New York City, she continued her postgraduate education at the University of British Columbia in the Graduate Periodontics & Implant Surgery program. She received her Specialty degree in Periodontics & Masters in Craniofacial Science in 2010. Angela was recognized at UBC for her outstanding theoretical performance and excellence in implant surgery with the "Nobel Biocare Achievement Prize" and was selected to represent UBC at the Nobel Biocare Global Symposium in NYC. She has provided dental care for First Nation communities in Northern Ontario and the Queen Charlotte Islands. Angela has mentored numerous study clubs and has lectured in continuing education courses for dentists and dental hygienists on periodontal procedures and dental implants. She serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia. In her spare time, Angela enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.

Dr. Bryce McDougall

Dr. Bryce McDougall received his DMD degree from the University of Manitoba. He was in general practice from 1985 to 1992. He then pursued his interest in periodontics at the University of Southern California and graduated with a Specialty Diploma in Periodontics in 1994. He has practiced periodontics in Calgary since his graduation. Bryce has mentored numerous study clubs. Bryce is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, Alberta Dental Association, Canadian Academy of Periodontology, Alberta Academy of Periodontology & American Academy of Periodontology. He and his wife Susan have three children. He enjoys working out at the gym and cycling and is involved with scouting for junior hockey & several volunteer groups.

Dr. Colin Wiebe

Dr. Colin Wiebe received his B.Sc. and Doctor of Dental Surgery Degrees from the University of Alberta. He then completed a hospital residency (GPR) providing dental treatment to medically compromised patients at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon and stayed on as the Acting Director of Hospital Dentistry to cover a maternity leave. After a stint in general dental practice in Williams Lake, BC he spent a summer as a volunteer dentist at the Patan Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal which also gave him a chance to explore and trek in the Himalayan Mountains. After returning to Canada he completed his specialty training in Periodontics and an M.Sc. degree in Dentistry at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Colin then became an assistant professor of dentistry at UBC and was in charge of the periodontics residency program. Colin moved to Calgary in 2001 to enter private specialty practice with Dr. Bryce McDougall but continues to be a part-time clinical assistant professor and teach about two days per month at UBC. At UBC he teaches periodontic, orthodontic and pediatric dentistry residents, supervises surgical procedures and participates in research projects with the periodontal residents. Colin has co-authored over 30 scientific research papers and has presented at research conferences internationally. Colin has also taught at the PAADI Dental institute in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and the University of Helsinki, Finland in addition to more routine lecturing in Calgary and area dental study clubs. Colin was formerly a part-time staff periodontist in the Tom Baker Cancer Centre at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary and also an examiner for the Royal College of Dentists from 2002 to 2013 as part of the certification examinations for new dental specialists in periodontics. Colin has been involved in teaching (China, Finland, Saudi Arabia) and volunteers dental in various countries including Ecuador, Nepal, China, Nicaragua, and Ethiopia and participates in an ongoing project in Haiti through EMAS. He has also done research on Kindler Syndrome (see publication list) in a remote area of Panama.
