Adriana Cargill

Adriana Cargill, Los Angeles, CA, is a senior podcast producer for Crooked Media and has a Master's in Journalism from Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism. Adriana's media experience includes producing stories for KCRW, NPR's All Things Considered, Morning Edition, Latino USA, Marketplace, LAist, KUSC Radio, Southern California Public Radio (KPCC), The Chicago Redeye and VICE. She has also worked at StoryCorps facilitating interviews and was a producer on the documentary film The Seventh Fire, which centers on the lives of two Native American gang members in northern Minnesota. It premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2015 and was shown at the White House followed by a panel discussion with journalists, filmmakers, federal officials and the film's protagonists.

Alison Scholly - Managing Director

She currently provides strategic and operations management consulting services to nonprofit public and independent media in her role as Managing Director, Public Media Company. Alison's skills and expertise include creating and advising on effective models for journalism and content initiatives and launching new independent media ventures. Earlier, Alison was Chief Operating Officer and interim CEO of Chicago Public Media, leading a team of 135 employees and architecting WBEZ's rapid digital expansion, which included podcasts and national shows This American Life and Sound Opinions and Vocalo.org. Alison also held several media leadership roles at Tribune Company, serving as Interactive Vice President of the Chicago Tribune, expanding Tribune's digital business and tripling audience reach to 5.1 million unique visitors a month. Carlos Barrionuevo

Focused on our local media growth strategies, Carlos has two decades of experience developing new business ideas, forging partnerships, leading acquisitions, and securing revenue-generating opportunities. As Director of Business Development at NPR, he directed the formation of National Public Media and led the planning to create NPR Music. He also led the acquisition of Public Interactive from PRI and established a partnership with commercial radio broadcasters and public radio stations to provide HD data-casting services. At Tribune Company, he held leadership roles in new digital ventures in partnership with America Online, culminating with his role as Chief Operating Officer of Blackvoices.com. He started his Tribune career in corporate development, where he worked on the acquisition of television stations and evaluated investments in international businesses and online ventures. Carlos holds an MBA from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester and a BA from the University of Chicago. He recently moved to Georgetown, Maine where he is deeply involved in rural broadband issues and was recently named to the board of the newly formed Maine Connectivity Authority, charged with deploying broadband across the state. Carolyn Grinstein

Carolyn Grinstein, Seattle, WA, is a civic leader who currently serves on the boards of the Seattle Art Museum, the University of Washington Foundation, the American Community School of Beirut and the Yale University Art Gallery. Erin Moran is a nonprofit leader with a longstanding passion for building innovative and sustainable enterprises. With more than three decades of advisory and financial oversight roles, Erin brings extensive experience as a key consultant to many growing nonprofits in public media. Erin focuses her time on forging new partnerships and initiatives to build the overall growth and sustainability of public media, advising public and independent media on the financial and operational steps to executing strategic initiatives, and educating advocates about the unique role that Public Media Company plays in keeping public media strong. Prior to joining Public Media Company in 2002, Erin ran the finance, operations and IT functions of a $250 million business unit in Europe for Key Bank. Other earlier roles include Vice President, Systems Integrations and Director of Internal Audit, Tax and Investment Programs. Erin started her career as an auditor with two of the largest international CPA firms and has also served as a graduate student instructor at Leeds Business School at the University of Colorado. In 2011, she was named CFO of the Year for Small Companies by the Denver Business Journal. Evran Kavlak

Evran creates complex financial models, business plans and asset valuations for clients. He works directly with organizations ranging from start-ups to the largest public broadcasters providing valuable operational and financial insight through data analytics, business plans and overall industry trends (radio/TV/digital) to senior management as well as key decisions makers at the board level. Evran also assists public broadcasters in evaluating signal expansion opportunities and facilitates loans for clients. He played a key role in underwriting and structuring the $8M in loans made to public broadcasting organizations from PMC's Public Radio Fund. Prior to affiliating with Public Media Company in 2005, Evran served as an accounting assistant at KPBS in San Diego. Evran began his career in Istanbul, Turkey at an investment trust firm, evaluating the financial condition of publicly traded stocks in a variety of industries. Evran earned a master's degree in finance from California State University in San Diego and a bachelor's degree in management engineering from Istanbul Technical University in Turkey. Henry Cheng

As a graduate from New York University School of Law and University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Henry has successfully represented numerous clients in all aspects of the complex civil tax disputes at the federal, state, and local levels. Ileane Olson

Ileane has provided accounting and operational support to nonprofits for more than 15 years. In her role as Accounting and Operations Coordinator at Public Media Company, she provides PMC's virtual accounting service clients with support and helps keep the financial accounting and business operations of PMC running smoothly. A multi-tasker at heart, Ileane enjoys working with nonprofits of all sizes. Ileane comes to PMC from the University of Colorado, Boulder where she provided accounting support for the CU Boulder Office of International Education for more than five years. In addition to her position at PMC, Ileane fulfills several roles for CenterStage Theatre Company, a nonprofit in Louisville, CO. She manages the facility rental for productions, organizes performances, keeps the books and assists in preparing annual operating budgets and individual production budgets. Jan Nicholson

Jan Nicholson, New York, NY, is the President of The Grable Foundation, a private charitable foundation in Pittsburgh, Pa., dedicated to helping children and youth by improving their educational opportunities. She is also President of The Nicholson Foundation, which is working in New Jersey to reform the system for providing healthcare to vulnerable populations, and to improve the quality of, and access to, care and education for children ages 0-5. Susan Harmon

Susan Harmon, Seattle, WA, is Co-Director of Meyerhar Productions, an independent film company she and her husband, Richard Meyer, founded in 2014. She co-founded and served as Co-Managing Director of PMC for its first ten years. She currently serves on the PMC board after 40 years of experience as a public broadcasting executive including serving as Vice President for North Texas Public Broadcasting in Dallas/Ft. Worth and before that, as Station Manager for WAMU public radio in Washington, D.C. During her career, she was a board member of National Public Radio, Public Radio International and the Station Resource Group which she co-founded in 1984. Susan currently serves on the board of KING-FM in Seattle and on advisory boards at her alma mater, Wellesley College.

Teresa Bryce Bazemore
