21st Century Optics was founded in 1967 as "Eye-Glasses", Inc. and primarily produced glass lenses made by hand. Originally located on W. 27th St. in Manhattan, in 1985 21st moved to its current location in Long Island City. In 1997, to reflect the shift to cutting edge technology and process automation, Eye-Glasses, Inc was renamed to 21st Century Optics... 21st Century Optics is a full service wholesale optical laboratory providing quality products, advanced technology and outstanding customer service to the Metropolitan New York/New Jersey Eye Care Professional community. Our state-of-the-art facility in Long Island City, NY features a Digital Lens Processing Center as well as a Crizal Processing Center with a Class 1000 Clean Room where we produce the Crizal Family and other 21st Century Optics proprietary no glare coatings and lens treatments... We are now producing advanced Varilux X Series lenses in-house with a dedicated digital line and specially trained technicians...
