Neil is a seasoned litigator with more than 30 years of experience. Neil was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York in 1985, and to the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1987. He is a graduate of Lehigh University, where he obtained a B.S. degree in Accounting, and Fordham Law School, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award in Contracts for 1981-1982. Neil appears regularly in the Courts of Nassau, Suffolk and New York Counties, and has participated in and successfully argued numerous appeals in both the First and Second Departments. Neil is a member of the American Bar Association (Family Law Section), New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association, and he was a panel member of the Nassau County Court's Early Neutral Evaluation Program. Neil is an active Barrister of the New York American Family Law Inns of Court, where he recently presented with regard to the new (2016) Maintenance Guidelines. Neil was previously affiliated with the National Tax Department of a national accounting firm, where he lectured on family-related tax issues and wrote related articles for the CPA Journal, among other publications. He is the co-author, with noted attorney Stephen W. Schlissel, Esq., of an article entitled "Thinking Through the Tax Ramifications of a Prenup," which was published in the Winter 2011 issue of the Family Advocate, the Journal of the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association. For most of the last 30+ years, Neil has been engaged as an active matrimonial practitioner, with a primary focus on the financial aspects of domestic relations law. He has practiced both as a part of other prestigious law firms and as a solo practitioner, with offices in Manhattan and Long Island. Neil opened his own firm in October 2014, so that he could limit his case load in order to better serve his clients in a more personalized and cost-effective manner.
