Christine comes to the board with a wealth of knowledge and firsthand experience of caregiving. Her own experience with her aging parents has led her to the Caregivers Network and she strongly believes in the support and helping role this organization provides. Christine has spent the last several years focused on raising her family and caregiving. She looks forward to contributing and giving back to the community through her active role on the Caregivers Network's board of directors.

Diane Baher is a long standing and active member of the board. She very much enjoys retirement life and is very active in her church, enjoys the opportunity retirement has given her for travel, exercise, and her hobbies. Most importantly she loves the time retirement has given her for her friends and her sons, daughter-in-laws and her 6 precious grandchildren.
Before retirement Diane spent 40 years in banking, the last 29 working for East Kootenay Community Credit Union. Over the 29 years with the Credit Union she held many positions, and was involved in most aspects of banking, starting as a frontline teller and progressing to the position of Senior Manager of Service, in the Cranbrook Branch.In this position she managed the Cranbrook branch and participated as a member of the Senior Managers Team. In her role as Senior Manager, she participated in supporting many charities.Diane sat on the Board of Directors for Cranbrook Society for Community Living, 3 years as president. She was also a director for the Chamber of Commerce. She is looking forward to being a member of the Caregivers Board and learning more about how she can best support the dedicated staff and caregivers.

Helen has been a board member for 10 yrs. Her reason for being on the board is her experience as a caregiver 3 times over. This led Helen to attend one of our support groups. Helen can relate to all the guilt & obstacles which caregivers go through.
Helen has volunteered for approx. 30 yrs. at the Fernie, Cranbrook Hospitals also the Green Home & Joseph Creek care village. She also was the coordinator for the candy striper /junior volunteers program for 23 yrs. Much of Helen's time is spent with seniors and she continues to volunteer at the Cranbrook hospital.

Although born and raised in a military family, Jessica has called Cranbrook home for many years. Between many travels to and from, and finally settling in the Kootenays, supporting and caring for family was instilled at a young age. Jessica understands the challenges that can come with transitioning into caretaking. With experience in working with non-profits, charities, and planning events, she believes in giving back to the community. Jessica hopes that in working with the Caregivers Network, she will gain more experience and perspective into her own family's future, while providing support and resources to others.

Joan is a retired registered nurse who spent the last 20 years of her career working in long term care as well as home-care and case management. Joan experienced over time many situations whereby family were cared for by their loved ones. Joan sees this as the norm for today's society and that a caregiver network essential to support these caregivers. Hence Joan dedication to the Caregivers Network and the work accomplished by the Board.
Monica runs Possibilities Counselling & Consulting, a private practice in Cranbrook. She specializes in supporting families affected by autism and other diverse abilities. She also provides support to vulnerable populations who may be going through issues resulting from anxiety, depression, isolation/Covid-related struggles, trauma, family conflict, marginalization, and LGBTQ2IA+ orientations/discrimination. She has a long history of running programs for both individuals and their caregivers, and has been an educator for over 20 years. Monica strongly believes in the work that the Caregivers Network provides, and hopes to continue supporting this amazing organization in the years to come.
Tobi has over 20 years of experience in non profit, government and private sectors. She has spent many years working in community development and with disenfranchised populations in society. Tobi hold a BA in Public Health policy, a Masters degree in Social Work and another Masters Degree in Political Science. Tobi Knows first hand what it is like to juggle work, a young family and caregiving. As such, Tobi is committed to supporting and achieving recognition for family caregivers in her community and throughout the province of British Columbia.
