Marissa Whitehead

Dr. Whitehead was born and raised in Michigan and moved to Central Florida as a teenager. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Florida State University, she attended Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, where she earned her DMD degree. Dr. Whitehead elected to do an additional year of training (General Practice Residency) at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina. While there, she gained extensive knowledge and experience in emergency situations, dental surgery, IV sedation, implant dentistry, and treating medically compromised patients. After another year of private practice in South Carolina, she moved back to Florida and practiced in Winter Springs for about five years. Dr. Whitehead stays up to date with the latest dental products and techniques by attending continuing education courses throughout each year. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Central Florida District Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the Dental Society of Greater Orlando. She resides in the Winter Park area with her husband of nine years, James, and their three dogs. In her free time, Dr, Whitehead enjoys attending Orlando City soccer games, Florida State Seminoles football games, and doing CrossFit training. Dr. Whitehead also participated in the 2019 Florida Dental Assocation Foundation's Missions of Mercy. Florida Mission of Mercy (FLA-MOM) is a two-day professional dental clinic, that provides dental care to the under-served and uninsured in Florida, at no cost to them. At the 2019 FLA-MOM, over 1,800 patients were treated and more than $2 million was donated in dental care.

Shauni Cowan

Dr. Cowan is a compassionate dentist specializing in general, cosmetic, restorative, and implant dentistry. She grew up in Scarborough, Maine, and graduated Cum Laude from Rhodes College with her Bachelor of Science. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of New England College of Dental Medicine. During college, Dr. Cowan discovered a passion for healthcare by volunteering in the emergency room at a local hospital. While she was captivated by the hustle and bustle of patients and procedures, she realized that she wanted to pursue a career where she could spend more quality time with patients and let her personality shine. Through community service, internships, and fellowships at non-profit dental clinics, she discovered the enormous need for dental care and a genuine passion for helping others. Dr. Cowan is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. In her free time, Dr. Cowan loves spending time outdoors. When the weather is nice, you can find her hiking, walking, swimming, and spending time with her friends and family outside. She also has a passion for food, whether experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen or exploring restaurants of various cuisines. She also enjoys music and dance.
