Dr. Cynthia Cole - CEO, President

Dr. Cynthia Cole serves as Chief Executive Officer and President of Cole, Alex, & Miles, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in the management consulting, business process design and development, education, criminal justice and community engagement, and information technology sectors. From 2015 through 2017, Dr. Cole served as Senior Policy Advisor in The Office of the Under Secretary for the U.S. Department of Education. As Senior Policy Advisor, Dr. Cole provided strategic and contextual advice and counsel to the Under Secretary regarding education policy matters, wrote agency reports, and designed and facilitated strategic and impactful convenings to affect change, strengthen systems, and assess policy on a national scale. Prior to joining the US Department of Education, from 2007 until 2015, Dr. Cole served as a university administrator and professor in the Purdue University system where she hired and supervised faculty and staff, chaired and served on promotion and tenure committees, prepared departmental programs for national accreditation, developed and maintained programs, administered the departmental budget to foster efficiency and improve curriculum delivery while adhering to fiscal constraints, as well as served on the Chancellor's Budget Advisory Committee. Dr. Cole taught elementary and secondary school prior to becoming a university professor and administrator. She is the author and editor of three books, From the Classroom to the Corner: Female Dropouts' Reflections on Their School Years, Tedious Journeys and co-editor of Uprooting Urban America: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Race, Class & Gentrification, as well as articles on the socio-cultural context of education. Prior to her educational career, from 1996 through 1998, Dr. Cole was an analyst trained for executive leadership in commercial banking in the Rotational Management Program at American National Bank which eventually merged into what is now J.P. Morgan Chase Bank. Dr. Cole received her B.A. in Psychology from The University of Chicago in 1996. She received her M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Illinois at Chicago in 1999, and her Ph.D. in Curriculum Design from The University of Illinois at Chicago in 2004 where she received The University Fellowship for her dissertation and doctoral award for Most Promising Doctoral Candidate.

Mr. Larry Gordon - EVP

Larry Gordon serves as Executive Vice President of Cole, Alex, and Miles, LLC where he specializes in the criminal justice and community engagement sector. Mr. Larry Gordon started his career with the Dallas Police Department in 1995. In June of 1997, Larry was selected to be a part of the Dallas Police Department's Specialized Crime Unit. After several productive years with the Specialized Crime Unit, Larry transferred to the Narcotics Division. Larry was the lead Detective on countless narcotic investigations. His duties included, but were not limited to, executing dynamic entry search warrants, conducting undercover drug buys and training new detectives that joined he unit. In 2004, Larry transferred to the Dallas Police Department's coveted Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team where he is currently assigned. Larry's duties on the SWAT Team consists of crisis/hostage negotiations, executing high risk search warrants, providing motorcades for current and former Presidents of the United States and distinguished dignitaries afforded a motorcade. He also acts as a counter assault team (CAT) for those dignitaries and current and former presidents. Larry currently serves as one of the lead negotiators for the SWAT Team. He has successfully negotiated peaceful resolutions to armed barricaded subjects. Larry has also negotiated operations where a sniper/tactical resolution had to be used to bring the volatile situations to an end. Larry is also responsible for training SWAT officers and certifying them in tear gas/less lethal munitions and distraction devices. He is also an Active shooter/ALERRT (Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) instructor. Larry earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Texas and has been certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) as an instructor. Mr. Stephen Cole serves as Executive Vice President of Cole, Alex, and Miles, LLC where he specializes in the criminal justice and community engagement sector. Mr. Cole started his career with the Dallas Police Department where provided service as a Patrol Officer for 20 years until his retirement in 2015. As a patrol officer, he made over 700 arrests and responded to 30,000 911 calls for service and initiated 10,000 vehicular traffic stops. He has received 24 departmental commendations, generated internally and externally. He has conducted numerous investigations, gathered evidence, and provided court testimony. Stephen has provided leadership for various law enforcement activities and has provided training and mentorship to new police officers. Stephen was a three-year letterman on the football team at Grambling State University where he played defensive back for the legendary Eddie Robinson. He currently coaches two of his daughters in professional tennis as they began their careers on the International Tennis Federation Professional Tennis Circuit after being nationally ranked juniors players, and being ranked #1 in Texas in Championship and Super Championship qualifier ranks, and appearing on the Prince Hot 100 ranked as highly as 40th in the nation.
