Dr Bernard S. Bagaya - CEO

is a Medical Laboratory professional registered and licenced to practice in Uganda by the Allied Health... Professionals Council (AHPC), he has >17 years' experience in Medical Laboratory Practice, 6 of which were with the Makerere University-Walter Reed Project (MUWRP) Laboratory; an HIV Vaccine Clinical Trials, Treatment and Care Organization. At MUWRP he was In-Charge of the Diagnostic Immunology and Molecular Pathology Section whose test menu included 15 serological and 4 molecular diagnostic and research tests. In this capacity, Dr. Bagaya was instrumental within the team that developed MUWRP's Lab QMS from 2003 until the lab received College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accreditation in 2004, including being part of maintenance of CAP accreditation over many years. In 2008, Dr. Bagaya joined the Uganda National Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory (NTRL) as a Consultant for the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases (IUATLD or The Union) with the major Terms of Reference (TORs) being building a Laboratory QMS at the NTRL and lead it to ISO15189:2012 Quality Accreditation, which it went on to receive SANAS-ISO15189:2012 accreditation in 2013. Dr. Bagaya is trained in ISO17025:2017 implementation, including in its auditing. Dr. Bagaya is a molecular biologist and virologist and has many years of experience in academia/training, he is currently a Faculty at Makerere University College of health Sciences, Department of Immunology and Molecular Biology, where he still teaches Laboratory Management, Quality Control and Quality Assurance Courses, among others. He was also UVRI-IAVI HIV Vaccine Program's Laboratory Director which has Laboratory accreditation to GCLP standard (Qualogy, UK). Dr. Bagaya is a GCLP trainer in Uganda and has conducted innumerable sessions over the last 8 years at the UVRI-led HIV quality improvement project for HIV testing. His expertize in multiple Laboratory Quality Standards (CAP, GCLP, ISO17025:2017and ISO15189:2012) makes him a leader in this field of QMS mentorship and trainings.

Mr. George William Kasule - CTO

Kasule is a fast-rising Medical Lab Professional with more than 9 years' experience of different ...laboratory sections in National and International laboratories such as Quality Management System, Diagnostic capacity among others. In addition, to being a Technical Director at LSS Ltd George is also a Mentor at the Uganda NTRL and a Continuous Quality Improvement Fellow and WHO Consultant on Programmatic Drug Resistant Tuberculosis. He has also served in various positions such as Laboratory coordinator for the Uganda anti-TB drug resistance survey and Uganda TB prevalence survey in 2010 and 2014 respectively. Mr. Kasule has received several training and conducted hands-on practice in LQMS (ISO 15189 and ISO 17043) and CQI. He has participated/offered mentorship and technical assistance to other countries such as Somalia, Swaziland, Lesotho, Kenya, Zanzibar (Tanzania), Rwanda among others. Mr. Kasule was part of the Uganda NTRL team that acquired WHO-Supranational Reference Laboratory status and ISO15189:2012 in 2013 and ISO 17043:2010 accreditation in 2018. George has participated in the annual regional Green light committee missions to Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Rwanda, Sierra Leone and first ever joint four national programmes review for HIV, TB, PMTCT and Viral Hepatitis in Swaziland (2017). He is one of the lead consultants at LSS Ltd supporting all the six laboratories accredited since 2016 and one of the trainers in more than 30 continuous education and training events conducted by LSS Ltd in and out of Uganda.
