As a design team leader Adrienne Nelson works closely with architects and designers in the studio to oversee the production and growth of Pickard Chilton's design portfolio, including office, life science, mass timber, and interior architecture. Adrienne has been a key design team member for a variety of innovative projects. She is currently the design team leader for two significant mass timber developments in California: a 1.25 million gsf corporate campus in Menlo Park, and a 300,000 gsf office complex in Redwood City. She was a designer for 2+U, a record-setting 700,000 gsf mixed-use office tower and public plaza in downtown Seattle, Washington. She previously served as a designer for T3 RiNo, a 400,000 gsf mass timber next-generation office building in Denver, Colorado and Project Manager for 325 Main Street, Google's new headquarters tower in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Additional projects include 1144 Fifteenth Street in Denver, Colorado; the Minnesota Senate Building in St. Paul, Minnesota; and the ATCO Commercial Centre in Calgary where she played a key role in the design of the mass timber amenity building that has become an iconic feature of the campus. Nelson is a graduate of Iowa State University where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design and a Masters of Architecture. As a graduate student, she received the Miller Fellowship, the graduate AIA Medal. In 2020, Adrienne was the first recipient of the Outstanding Young Professional Award from the College of Design. In 2020, Nelson was recognized among Engineering News Record's National 20 Under 40, and was accepted into the inaugural class of the AIA National Leadership Academy. She was recently an AIA Connecticut board member and currently serves as co-Chair of the Women in Architecture Committee and member of the Professional Practice Forum.

Andrew Barnett is an architectural designer with experience designing and coordinating all phases of design and construction services. He has held key roles and collaborated on numerous large-scale, international mixed-use, corporate, commercial, life science, and master planning developments. Mr. Barnett most recently served as designer for Google Cambridge's headquarters at 325 Main, a next-generation office building located in the heart of Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is also a designer for a 1.25 million gsf timber corporate campus in Menlo Park, California. Additional project experience includes the 250 & 290 Binney Street development in Cambridge, Massachusetts; The RO development in Houston, Texas; and 477 South Main in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Barnett received his Bachelors of Architecture from The Pennsylvania State University. He is currently an active member of the ACE Connecticut Board and the ACE Mentor Program for high school students. In addition, he serves as the director of the studio's recruitment efforts.

Andrew Gorzkowski is an architectural designer with experience designing and coordinating all phases of design and construction services. He has held key roles and collaborated on numerous large-scale, mixed-use, corporate, and commercial developments both nationally and internationally. Mr. Gorzkowski is currently a Project Designer for 887 West Peachtree, a 30-story office tower that will be one of the tallest to rise in Midtown Atlanta, Georgia, in the last decade. The tower's varied retail and dining spaces, hospitality-like lobby amenities, and series of rooftop terraces will bring greater life to the already active and fast-growing Technology Square neighborhood.

Andrew Swartzell

As the studio's Director of Design Computing, Andrew Swartzell creates and integrates technologies at the forefront of the AEC industry to provide studio teams with the latest computational design tools and knowledge. As a Designer, Mr. Swartzell has coordinated all phases of design and construction projects for a diverse and international client base. He is currently a key team member for the 200 Mission PG&E tower development in San Francisco, California. Most recently, he was the Design Team Leader for Uber's Sky Tower and Sky Loft concepts. He previously collaborated on a master plan for a large mixed-use development in Silicon Valley. He has also been a key design team member for significant headquarters and high-rise office projects including 1900 Crystal Drive in Arlington, Virginia; Iskandar Investment Headquarters in Malaysia; BHP's Headquarters in Houston, Texas; and Eighth Avenue Place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Mr. Swartzell holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He graduated with Distinction and Honors in Architecture from The Pennsylvania State University, where he received a Bachelor of Architecture degree and was the recipient of the Alpha Rho Chi Medal.

Anthony J. Markese

Anthony Markese has design leadership experience on prominent projects around the world for a broad range of corporate, higher education, institutional, and commercial clients. He has led the design of a variety of significant projects, including Google Cambridge's new headquarters and Akamai's headquarters, both in Cambridge, Massachusetts; The Eight, an office tower in Bellevue, Washington; 2+U, a mixed-use office tower in downtown Seattle, Washington; the ExxonMobil Global Campus in Houston, Texas; the ATCO Campus in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; 900 New York Avenue in Washington, DC; 300 North LaSalle and River Point, both in downtown Chicago, Illinois; and the CalPERS Headquarters Complex in Sacramento, California. Benjamin Simmons has been responsible for coordinating all phases of design and construction on some of Pickard Chilton's highest-profile projects. He is currently directing the 200 Mission tower development in San Francisco and the 20th Street high-rise office tower in Oakland, California. Most recently, he directed River Point, a 50-story LEED Platinum high rise in Chicago, Illinois; the 900 Marquette office tower in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Eaton House, the corporate headquarters for Eaton Corporation in Dublin, Ireland. Mr. Simmons has been a key member of design teams for Eaton Center, a corporate campus in Beachwood, Ohio; the 50-story Eighth Avenue Place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; 300 North LaSalle, a 60-story high rise in Chicago, Illinois; 1180 Peachtree in Atlanta, Georgia; the AIM Corporate Headquarters tower in Houston, Texas; Wells Fargo's headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa; and The Atrium residential tower in Dubai, UAE. David Brown

David Brown has experience with numerous corporate, commercial, and residential/hospitality projects. Of note, Mr. Brown has been a key member of the design teams for several significant corporate headquarters and high-rise projects including 300 North LaSalle and River Point, both in Chicago, Illinois; Eighth Avenue Place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; and 900 New York Avenue in Washington, DC. Mr. Brown is currently serving as a Project Designer for Sherwin-Williams' new corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. Most recently, he was the Project Manager for an office tower in a confidential mixed-use development in Houston, Texas. Previously, he served as Project Manager for 145 Broadway, Akamai's new headquarters in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as Amegy Bank's new headquarters and the Energy Center for the ExxonMobil Global Campus, both in Houston, Texas. For the ExxonMobil project, Mr. Brown was responsible for managing the Energy Center component, the key iconic meeting and training facility anchoring the campus. Mr. Brown directed the internal Pickard Chilton team and collaborated with the Architect of Record to manage the consultant team. As a design team member since 2009, he was a key contributor to the early development of the Energy Center's design concept. He also played a significant role in coordinating presentations to ExxonMobil's Management Committee. Mr. Brown is a LEED Green Associate. He is an active member of the firm's summer recruitment program. Mr. Brown received a Bachelor of Architecture from the Oklahoma State University School of Architecture, where he often lectures.

Deborah Lukan

Deborah Lukan has been Project Manager for more than 12 million gsf of corporate office and mixed-use projects. She is currently managing the redevelopment of the 1927 historical office component of the PG&E campus in downtown San Francisco, California. Most recently, she was the Project Manager for Dominion Energy's new corporate headquarters in Richmond, Virginia; the ExxonMobil Global Campus in Houston, Texas; 900 New York Avenue office building in Washington, DC; Four Seasons Place, a 60- and 36-story luxury hotel, residential, and retail complex in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and 300 North LaSalle, a 60-story tower in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Lukan has previously worked in Shelton, Connecticut, and London, United Kingdom, where she collaborated on numerous institutional and higher education projects. She currently serves on the Professional Advisory Board for the Clemson School of Architecture and is the architect licensing coordinator and mentor for Pickard Chilton interns. Mr. Chaniara is currently working on the design of CoStar Group's new corporate campus in Richmond, Virginia. He previously worked in Minnesota as well as in his home country of India, where he collaborated on a wide range of residential and commercial projects. (Jan. 25, 2023) - Mutual of Omaha has officially started construction of a new 44-story headquarters tower in downtown Omaha that will support the insurance and financial services company's future growth while contributing to the economic vitality of the city's urban core. Mutual Chairman and CEO James Blackledge was joined by Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert and other dignitaries for a ceremonial groundbreaking to kick off construction of the 677-foot tall office tower, which is slated to open in 2026.

Mr. Hickey is currently a Project Designer for the 200 Mission PG&E campus in downtown San Francisco, California. Additional project experience includes HPE's new corporate campus, currently under construction in Houston, Texas. Prior to Pickard Chilton, Mr. Hickey was a Director and Senior Designer with Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates where he collaborated directly with Kevin Roche and firm principals on the design of complex projects across multiple scales and typologies. Selected projects include the American Museum of Natural History, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, both in New York City, and Capitol Crossing Mixed-Use Development in Washington, DC, and, as part of a collaboration of KRJDA with Kohn Pedersen Fox, 20, 30 and 55 Hudson Yards in New York City. Mr. Hickey received both his Bachelor of Science in Fine Art and Architecture and his Master of Architecture from Northeastern University in Boston. John Lanczycki

John Lanczycki has more than two decades of experience coordinating all phases of design and construction services on significant corporate and commercial projects for a diverse and internationally recognized client base. Since joining Pickard Chilton, he has been responsible for documentation and construction administration for some of the firm's highest-profile projects including complex commercial developments and corporate headquarters. Mr. Lanczycki has most recently been engaged as the Project Manager for HPE's new corporate headquarters campus in Houston, Texas. He previously was the Project Architect for the Northwestern Mutual Tower and Commons in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Devon Energy Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He has been a key member of the design teams for other headquarters and office projects including the Pinnacle at Symphony Center, a 29-story corporate office in Nashville, Tennessee, and the first LEED-CS Gold high rise in the state. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts.

Jon Pickard has been recognized internationally for his achievements in architecture. He has designed or collaborated in the design of some of the world's most recognized buildings, including such prominent projects as the ExxonMobil Global Campus in Houston, Texas; Mutual of Omaha's new headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska, Northwestern Mutual's new headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; the Devon Energy Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 609 Main at Texas and BHP's headquarters, both in Houston, Texas; Norfolk Southern's headquarters and 1180 Peachtree, both in Atlanta, Georgia; and 300 North LaSalle in downtown Chicago, Illinois. In 2018, he led the design of the Uber Sky Tower, a visionary concept for Uber's next-generation urban aviation transport system. Mr. Pickard is currently leading the 200 Mission PG&E redevelopment in San Francisco and the 20th Street high-rise office tower in Oakland, California. Prior to the founding of Pickard Chilton, he collaborated with Cesar Pelli in the design of numerous landmark and award-winning projects, including two of the most significant commercial developments ever built: the World Financial Center in New York and Kuala Lumpur City Centre, a development that includes the Dewan Filharmonic, Malaysia's National Symphony Hall, and two of the world's tallest buildings, the Petronas Towers. Jon Pickard received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Iowa State University and his Master of Architecture from the Yale School of Architecture. Iowa State awarded him both its Design Achievement Award (1989), for distinguished contributions to the arts, and the Christian Petersen Design Award (2007). With William Chilton, he is co-recipient of the 2011 Iowa State University Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor given to alumni by the University. The Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture at the University of Houston recognized Jon Pickard as its 2006 Honoree. He regularly serves as a visiting critic at Yale University and has led an advanced design studio at Iowa State University. Stephen Harris

As a recognized leader within the studio and by our clients, Stephen Harris prides himself in taking on projects that that offer complex design or political challenges. As a design team leader, he is focused on advancing Pickard Chilton's expertise and leadership with recent repositioning, mixed-use, and multi-family residential projects. Stephen has been a key design team member for a variety of complex projects of varying scale and program. He is currently leading the design for 600 Fifth, a 400,000 gsf repositioning in the heart of historic Washington, D.C.; a new 800,000 gsf headquarters tower for Mutual of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska; and a confidential multi-phase multi-family and lifestyle development. Previously, he led Pickard Chilton's first design-build project, the Minnesota Senate Building in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was a key designer for the Northwestern Mutual Tower and Commons in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 609 Main at Texas in Houston, Texas; and, the OLC Integrated Development in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In addition to practicing architecture, Stephen leads the many facets of the studio's operations, including working with the other Principals to advance business development, strategic planning, and recruiting efforts. He is a frequent lecturer and design critic at the undergraduate and graduate levels and served as Adjunct Professor at the University of Hartford, teaching the curriculum's final undergraduate design studio. He was also featured as a panelist for Engineering News Record's 2021 Top Young Professionals Conference, speaking on the post-pandemic future of the profession. Stephen received a Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College, majoring in Studio Art and Latin and graduating magna cum laude. He received his Master of Architecture from the University of Texas, focusing on sustainable design and the craft of architecture. Stephen was one of eighteen architects from across the country selected for the inaugural class of the AIA Leadership Academy, a three-year program designed to foster leadership, innovation, and mentorship for leaders in the profession.

Thomas Frechette

Tom Frechette has more than 30 years of design experience on a broad range of innovative corporate, mixed-use, research, and cultural projects. Mr. Frechette is currently co-leader of the design of the CoStar Group's new campus in Richmond, Virginia. Overlooking the banks of the James River, the new campus integrates a 26-story office tower and a six-story, multi-functional amenities building. It is expected to achieve LEED-NC Platinum and will start construction in 2022. Prior to joining Pickard Chilton, Mr. Frechette was with Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates in Hamden, Connecticut, for over thirty years. He collaborated with Kevin Roche and firm principals on the design of major award-winning corporate and institutional projects. Most recently, he led the North Block development of the 2.2 million gsf Capitol Crossing project in Washington, DC. Museum projects include the restoration and renovation of three European Collection galleries, two Egyptian Wing galleries, and the Costume Institute Exhibit at New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art. In addition, research projects include over 1 million gsf for Lucent Technologies across four campuses nationwide. Mr. Frechette graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Architecture and received his Master of Architecture from Yale University School of Architecture. Active in his community, he previously served as a long-time volunteer coach with New Haven Youth Soccer and as a Board Member for the Edgewood Elementary School Aftercare Program.
