Alix Hart - CMO

Alix Hart is the Chief Marketing Officer at Verily where she leads all marketing activities for brand, communications, product marketing and digital, which includes the marketing services that deliver personalized recruitment and engagement for Verily's participant recruitment and member enrollment solutions. Alix joined Verily in early 2021 as Head of Content and Digital Strategy, and was later appointed to Chief Marketing Officer. Prior to Verily, Alix was Global Head of Digital Marketing at NVIDIA, where she led the global digital transformation of marketing to deliver intelligent, personalized and privacy-centered experiences. Before NVIDIA, she held marketing leadership roles in Fortune 500 companies spanning several industry sectors including Symantec, Best Buy, PepsiCo and Time Inc., with increasing responsibilities for brand, PR, e-commerce, digital and media. She holds a BA in Economics from the University of Southern California and an MBA from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

Andrew Trister

Andrew Trister, MD, PhD, is the Chief Medical and Science Officer at Verily where he leads the company's research, science and population health initiatives, providing expertise across Verily's portfolio as the company furthers its precision health strategy. Previously, Andrew served as the Deputy Director of Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence at The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where he led the Foundation's development and investment in digital health and artificial intelligence to address global health inequities. Prior to that, Andrew was a founding member of Apple's Health team, where he led clinical research and machine learning with Apple partners. Andrew holds an MD, a PhD in bioengineering, an MSE and BSE in computer science, and a BA in biological basis of behavior from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his clinical residency in radiation oncology at the University of Washington, with additional focus areas in medical and bioinformatics.

Andy Conn - President

Andy Conn serves as the President and a member of the Board of Directors of Granular. Andy is a business leader with over 25 years of senior management experience and a track record of building a company from start-up to profitable strategic sale. For two years, Andy served as Granular's Chief Operating Officer before moving into the role of President. Before joining Granular, Andy was a Co-founder/Director and served as COO and General Counsel of Square Knot Health, Inc., a disease management company focused on patients with chronic kidney disease. For 21 years Andy served as a COO and General Counsel of GeoBlue (an international specialty risk company), where he also served on the Board of Directors. Andy's background also includes working for the Allegheny Health Network (now part of Highmark, Inc.) and practicing corporate law at Wolf, Block, Schorr & Solis-Cohen. Andy earned a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.

Andy Conrad's vision for what would become Verily began in the Google X lab in Mountain View, California, as a moonshot. Having recently led groundbreaking work in the field of diagnostics as a molecular biologist and Chief Scientist at LabCorp, Andy joined the Google X team with the audacious goal to deliver a "10x change" in healthcare. His vision: to disrupt the episodic, reactive system with a preventive and proactive approach enabled by continuous monitoring and measuring devices. Andy looked at many aspects of healthcare and invested in innovation across the healthcare ecosystem, from device technologies to new approaches in clinical research and care. Andy assembled a dream team of clinicians, researchers, chemists, scientists, biologists, behavioral scientists, engineers and industry leaders in machine learning and data science, believing that it would take a diversely talented team to change healthcare.

Bharat Rajagopal

Bharat Rajagopal is the Chief Revenue Officer at Verily where he leads the strategy and execution of commercial revenue generating activities, including sales, business development, partnerships and customer success to advance precision health. Previously, Bharat spent more than two decades at Microsoft, most recently serving as the General Manager of Microsoft's U.S. Life Sciences and MedTech business. In this role, he led a team of sales, technical and operational leaders and partnered with pharma, medtech and life science organizations to advance their digital transformation efforts to bring life-saving therapies to market faster. Prior to that, Rajagopal served as Chief Operating Officer of Microsoft's Gulf Coast Enterprise & Partner Group, where he drove significant enterprise software growth by enabling digital transformation for global customers in high tech, oil and gas. Bharat holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Toledo and an MBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.

Brian Otis - Founder

Brian Otis' role on the Verily founding team was to push the frontier of medical device innovation, building out the device organization, leading the company's discovery and rapid prototyping efforts, and establishing large partnerships. Drawing inspiration from technological advances like the miniaturization of sensors and wearable devices that were revolutionizing consumer technology, Brian recognized that these innovations could help health professionals be more proactive in their treatment of disease. He brought deep electrical engineering experience to the world of life sciences, having served as an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington (UW). Brian also held positions at the UW Kelly Tremblay Brain and Behavior Laboratory, the UC-Berkeley Ralph Freeman Neuroscience Lab, the Berkeley Wireless Research Center, Intel and Agilent Labs. His knowledge in the field of low power integrated circuits for wireless sensors led to the development of early Verily technologies including the G7 continuous glucose monitor for partner Dexcom, a partnership with GlaxoSmithKline on the Galvani implantable therapeutic device, a set of assistive devices for eating that helped those with hand tremor or limited hand and arm mobility called Liftware, as well as the Verily Study Watch, an investigational device for capturing health information from clinical research participants that has been used by thousands of participants in clinical research studies run by Verily and through our partners.

Jessica Mega - Founder

Before joining Google and co-founding Verily, Dr. Jessica Mega was a preeminent cardiologist at Brigham & Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School. She led innovative, international clinical trials investigating novel therapies and directed the TIMI Study Group's Genomics Program, applying new genomic technologies and other techniques to discover ways to personalize care for patients. Her groundbreaking work uniquely positioned Dr. Mega to help define and advance Verily's mission to make the world's health data useful so that people could enjoy healthier lives. She served as Verily's first Chief Medical and Scientific Officer, pioneering approaches that combined leading clinical and scientific capabilities with the best of technology and data science. She played a critical role in the creation of a patient-centered evidence generation platform used by multiple industry, academic, and advocacy partners, guided Verily's national response to the COVID pandemic, and developed products that apply next generation multidimensional health data to both research and clinical care. Dr. Mega built the foundation of many of Verily's core businesses and functions, hired and grew exceptional leaders and teams across the company, and brought the vision of precision health to life in countless ways.

Kerrie Peraino - CHRO

Kerrie Peraino is the Chief People Officer at Verily, where she oversees all People Operations activities, including talent and leadership development, talent acquisition, learning, compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion and employee relations. Prior to Verily, Kerrie was VP, People Operations, at Google, where she led frontline HR and delivered world-class HR services to over 130,000 Google employees. Before Google, Kerrie spent more than 20 years at American Express in the U.S. and the U.K., where, among other HR roles of increasing responsibility, she served as Chief Diversity Officer, Chief Talent Officer, and Senior Vice President of Global Talent Management. She holds a BA in Communications from Rutgers University and an MA in Corporate Communications from Seton Hall University.

Laura O'Donnell - Chief Legal Officer

Laura O'Donnell is the General Counsel at Verily where she leads the company's legal function as the company furthers its precision health strategy. Previously, Laura served as McKesson's first Chief Compliance Officer where she transformed the company's approach to regulatory and operational excellence and spearheaded significant enterprise initiatives including the company's COVID-19 Executive Response Team and its Drug Supply Chain Security Act enterprise governance strategies. Before joining McKesson, Laura held multiple roles in GE Healthcare's legal department culminating in a promotion to Officer of General Electric and General Counsel of GE Healthcare. As General Counsel, Laura oversaw legal, compliance, clinical research, privacy and other functions across 120 countries. Laura also served as Zimmer Biomet's first Chief Compliance Officer and began her legal career at Baker & Daniels (now Faegre Benson). Laura holds a Juris Doctor from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and a BA from James Madison College at Michigan State University.

Myoung Cha

Previously, Myoung served as President and Chief Strategy Officer at Carbon Health where he was responsible for the primary care, virtual care and mental health service lines, and led market access and health system partnerships. Prior to that, Myoung was Head of Health Strategic Initiatives at Apple where he led the development and launch of several health engagement technologies focused on improving the health and wellbeing for consumers around the globe, including mobile applications for Apple Watch. Myoung holds an AB in biochemical sciences from Harvard University, an MBA from Harvard Business School and a JD from Harvard Law School.

Scott Burke - CTO

Scott Burke is the Chief Technology Officer at Verily, where he leads the company's software and hardware engineering, AI and data science, and UX teams in the development of innovative products and platforms that power precision health. Prior to Verily, Scott was Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer for Helix, a leading population genomics company. Before Helix, Scott worked for nine years at Yahoo, most recently as Senior Vice President of Advertising and Data Platforms. Scott also previously led engineering teams at two mobile startups, Seven Networks and PacketHop, and was Vice President of Engineering for WebMD. Scott started his career as a computational physicist at Hewlett-Packard. He holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California.

Stephen Gillett - CEO, Chairman, President

Before his appointment as CEO, Stephen was Verily's President and Chief Operating Officer, where he oversaw engineering, business and commercial operations. Prior to joining Verily, Stephen was co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chronicle, an Alphabet cybersecurity company that is now part of Google Cloud. Prior to Alphabet, Stephen served as Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer and board member at Symantec, a Fortune 500 Enterprise Technology Company. He also served as the Executive Vice President and President of Best Buy Digital and Business Operations, and was part of the founding Starbucks transformation leadership team as Chief Information Officer and General Manager of Digital Ventures. Stephen sits on the Board of Directors for Discord and Dutch Bros. He was also recognized by Amazon in 2019 as a best selling author for his book, From Simi Valley To Silicon Valley. He holds an MBA from San Francisco State University and a BS from the University of Oregon.

Utpal Koppikar - CFO

Utpal Koppikar is the Chief Financial Officer at Verily, where he's responsible for the finance, real estate and workplace services (REWS) and corporate development functions. Previously, Utpal was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Atara Biotherapeutics where he oversaw the finance, information technology and investor relations functions. Prior to Atara, Utpal held several senior financial leadership positions at Gilead Sciences, including Vice President of Corporate and Operations Finance, where he was responsible for R&D, corporate, G&A, process development and manufacturing, and strategic sourcing. Before joining Gilead, Utpal served in multiple senior finance roles at Amgen. He began his career at Honeywell Aerospace (formerly AlliedSignal). Utpal holds a BS in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Maryland, an MS in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA in finance and marketing from The Anderson School at UCLA.

Vindell Washington

Vindell Washington, MD, MS, is the Chief Clinical Officer and Head of Health Equity Center of Excellence at Verily. Dr. Washington provides clinical leadership across Verily's research and care product suites and currently leads the company's Center of Excellence for Health Equity. Previously, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Onduo, Verily's virtual care solution for chronic condition management. Prior to Verily, he was Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana where he oversaw network operations and contracting, medical policy and quality, disease management and pharmacy benefits. Dr. Washington also served as National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), where he provided high-level executive direction and leadership for ONC programs, operations and policies. He also served in several capacities at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System including, President of the Health System Medical Group, Chief Medical Information Officer and leader of health system quality and information technology. Dr. Washington received his MD from the University of Virginia and his MS in healthcare management from the Harvard University School of Public Health.
