Andrew Driscoll - Founder, President

Andrew Driscoll graduated from The Cabot Institute's Civil Engineering Program in 1985 and immediately joined N.D. Dobbin Limited as a field engineer responsible for construction layout. From 1986 to 1989 he trained as an Estimator and Project Manager under the leadership of the Company's General Manager. In November of 1989 Andrew accepted a position as Estimator and Project Manager with Beck Construction Limited, and remained in this position for three years prior to returning to N.D. Dobbin Limited as Manager of Construction. In August of 1995 Andrew resigned his position with N.D. Dobbin Limited to establish Allied Constructors Inc. In 2016, the company was renamed Allied Construction Management Inc. to reflect the company's expertise in construction, development and project management. As the founder and President of Allied Construction Management Inc., Andrew is responsible for all day to day operations and under his leadership, Allied Construction Management Inc. has seen steady growth over its lifetime. His commitment to delivering exceptional project management and construction services unparalleled. Andrew is a Certified Engineering Technologist with AETTNL as well as Gold Seal Certified with the Canadian Construction Association. He has served as director on the board of Merit Contractors Association of NL and General Contractors Section Chair with the Newfoundland & Labrador Construction Association. In his spare time Andrew enjoys getting outdoors, including moose hunting and fishing. Like the rest of the team members, Andrew also enjoys working hands-on doing carpentry work.

Bob Lynch

Bob Lynch attended Memorial University from 1987 to 1988. He graduated from Cabot College of Applied Arts and Technology with a diploma in Architectural Engineering Technology in 1993. Bob began his professional career on Canada's west coast, working at Thornley Consulting Group Inc. from 1994 to 1998. Bob started as a Quantity Surveyor, preparing budgets at all levels of design, from schematic to tender stage for commercial, residential, educational, and health care facilities, in both the public and private sectors across British Columbia. From 1998 to 2002 in Vancouver, Bob worked for Vanbots Construction Inc., one of the country's largest General Contractors at the time, as an estimator responsible for preparation of Tenders for large Lump Sum and Construction Management projects. Bob's experience working with large construction companies in Western Canada would turn out to be an asset when returning home to Newfoundland & Labrador. In June of 2002 the "lure of the rock" drew Bob and his wife back to Newfoundland to start a family. Later that year in October 2002, Bob began work with Allied as an Estimator and Project Manager. Since 2002 he has estimated and managed many projects ranging in value from 500K to 25 million dollars. His experience in construction is diverse in its span, including everything from small renovations to residential towers, a Sports Arena and a Water Treatment Plant. Bob is a registered Professional Technologist with AETTNL and is Gold Seal Certified with the Canadian Construction Association. Bob currently serves on the board of Merit Contractors Association of NL as Vice-Chair. Bob is also an active volunteer in his community serving as a volunteer firefighter with the Goulds Fire Station for the last 10 years and has been coaching minor hockey for the past 5 years.

Brad Sheppard

Brad is in his 26th year now with Allied, joining them in 1996. He has estimated and/or managed many types and sizes of projects over the years with many in the range of 25 to 50 million dollars. Brad received his degree in civil engineering from Memorial University in 1988 and became a professional engineer two years later in 1990. Upon graduating Brad worked with Memorial University of Newfoundland's Department of University Works, and after 5 years joined N.D. Dobbin limited, working there from 1993 to 1996. Brad's involvement in the construction industry goes back long before gradating engineering. As far back as junior high school, Brad spent his summers working with the family business, City Builders Ltd., on projects around Newfoundland and in Northern Labrador. Brad has volunteered much time over the years to various organizations and associations. He served 11 years on the Board of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association (NLCA) in various roles including Chair of General Contractors Section, Chair of Standard Practices Committee, and as Association Board Chair from 2012 to 2013. He also served 8 years on the Board of the Canadian Construction Association (CCA), most recently as Chair of Standard Practices and a member of the Board's Executive Committee. Brad was also appointed for a period of 2 years to the Steering Committee for the Institute for Building Information Modeling in Canada (IBC). He served two years on the Board of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Safety Association (NLCSA) and 2 years on the Board of the St. John's Curling Association as Director of Properties. Brad is currently (2021-2022) President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Bonspiel Association having served as a committee member since 2008. In his spare time Brad enjoys working on various projects at his home or at the family cabin. He loves building things, from fine woodworking in his home to extensions on the cabin.

Cory Miller

Cory started with Allied in 1998 as a trade carpenter. He completed his carpentry course in 2007 from the Carpenters Millwrights College. He also has a Diploma for Natural Resource Management Technician from Centrac College, graduating in 1998. Cory worked on many challenging projects with Allied over the years, and with the experience gained he quickly became a Foreman and eventually a Superintendent. His experience with Peri & Aluma formwork systems led to an offer to work at Muskrat Falls. In 2014 Cory left Allied to work with Astaldi Canada on the Muskrat Falls project. He worked as a General Foreman overseeing crews of 12+ carpenters. He gained invaluable experience with the complex formwork systems. After completing his contract with Astaldi, Cory returned to work with Allied as a site superintendent in 2017. In his spare time cory enjoys camping and riding his motorcycle.

John Sheppard Sr.

From 1985 to 1995 John worked in challenging conditions in Nain & Hopedale Labrador working on various projects such as the Fish Plant, School, RCMP Detachment, Sports Complex, and Housing Developments. After 10 successful years in Labrador, the company turned its focus to work back in Newfoundland. From the experience gained in Labrador, John was quick to adapt to the complex renovation projects that he would manage for the next 20 years. John has worked on many projects for Eastern Health including, OR Renovations, CT Scan Rooms, Cardiac Cath Lab, Pharmacy Renovation, Morgue Renovations, along with many others. He also completed projects for Federal Government departments like Parks Canada, Canadian Coast Guard, Canadian Security Intelligence Service, and Tax Services Office among others. In his spare time John restores classic cars. He is self-taught in mechanical work, welding, body work, and painting. John has a passion for anything with wheels and all things vintage. His attention to detail and dedication to work will be a great asset to the team at Allied.

John Sr

John Sr. is the newest member of the team at Allied, starting as site Superintendent in September of 2016. John's diverse experience in the construction industry spans 37 years. He began working with City Builders Ltd. (Currently AMD Holdings Ltd.) upon graduating High School in 1981. After a few years John became a superintendent after showing his capabilities while working on projects in Northern Labrador.

Paul Pretty

Paul is now in his 16 th year with Allied, joining the team in 2001 as a trade carpenter. Paul completed his carpentry course in 1999 at the CTI (Carpenter Training Institute) on Glencoe Dr. in Mount Pearl. He worked as a carpenter with Allied from 2001-2008 on many challenging projects such as Winsor Lake Water Reservoir, Windsor Lake Water Treatment Plant, and The Capital Hotel in 2004. Since then, Paul has moved up from a Trade Carpenter to General Foreman. As foreman, he started working on Phase 1 of the concrete structure of Tiffany Towers in 2008. Paul's determination to go further with his career also landed him an opportunity to oversee two lab renovations at the NWFC in White hills in 2008. Since then Paul has overseen many of our projects as a Site Superintendent, including the RNC CP-1, Petty Harbour CP1 Water Treatment Plant, and the CFS concrete structure in Pleasantville, which totaled over 17,500 cubic meters of concrete through challenging conditions in the fall and winter of 2012. During this project alone, Paul supervised upwards of 60 workers on site. Through Paul's career he has supervised many challenging projects with very tight schedules including restaurants, renovations, commercial fit up's, and large concrete structures. Paul has a proven track record of success achieving time, budget, and quality goals on a broad range of multimillion-dollar projects. At the age of 36, Paul's expertise and dedication will be an asset as Allied moves to expand in the coming years. In his spare time Paul enjoys hunting, fishing, skidooing, and spending time on his boat.

Steve Crouse

Steve joined Allied Construction Management in 2018 as Safety Advisor, and has six years' experience acting in such capacity in the construction industry. In 2004, Steve received his Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from Memorial University and in 2010 completed his Safety Engineering Technology Diploma at the College of the North Atlantic. Steve also obtained his Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation in 2016.
