BUMI LAUT - Key Persons
The Bumi Laut Group was led by Mr. Jaka Aryadipa Singgih (1958-2017) as the third-generation business-owner. Mr. Jaka Singgih also served as a Member of Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia for two terms (1999-2004) and (2004-2009) and was an Alumnus of the University of Plymouth (School of Maritime Studies) (UK), University of Hull (UK), Harvard Business School (USA) and London Business School (UK). Under his leadership, the Group rebuilt and expanded its core businesses in shipping and its allied activities.
Since 2017, The Bumi Laut Group leadership is succeeded and led by Mr. Jay Aryaputra Singgih (Jay Singgih) as the fourth-generation business-owner and the Chairman & CEO / Managing Director of the Bumi Laut Group and expanding its key operational businesses in the shipping and logistics industry.
Jay Singgih was trained in Shipbroking and Energy Trading. Upon returning to Indonesia in 2010, he started his professional career at Ernst & Young (EY) Indonesia as a Senior Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Advisor. Jay Singgih joined Bumi Laut Group in 2013 as Head of Business Development and Investments, then as Vice President Business Development and Investments until 2017.
Jay Singgih holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics from the University of Durham (UK) and has completed the General Management Programme (GMP) from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School (UK), as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB).

Jay Singgih is also a Fellow of The Chartered Management Institute (CMI, UK), Associate Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN, UK), Associate Fellow of the Nautical Institute (NI, UK), Associate of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA, UK) and an Associate Member of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST, UK), as well as has completed the Shipping and Ship Finance Programme from the Cambridge Academy of Transport (UK).
