Aileen G. Serrano is the Lead Clinician for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, El Paso. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor in the state of Texas, Aileen leads a team of clinicians in providing services to post-9/11 Veterans and military families.
Aileen holds a master's level education in mental health counseling from Webster University and has worked in the mental health field for 14 years. With a skill set culled from different professional positions, including intake coordination and case management, she has worked with individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities and crisis units to prison populations to Veteran and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) services to individual and group therapy.
Aileen has three years of experience working with military/Veteran populations in the mental health field with a focus on trauma.
She has training in evidence-based practices to include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Client-Centered Play Therapy.
When she's not at work, Aileen loves going camping and spending time in nature.

Major General Alfred K. Flowers is an author and senior strategic advisor for a San Antonio minority-owned business. He is the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Budget where he was responsible for $170 billion dollars of Air Force funds.
Following high school graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of seventeen. After completing basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) in San Antonio, Texas, he was assigned as a supply warehouseman at Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota, followed by a year at Da Nang AB, Vietnam (as well as five other assignments prior to 1975).
He received his A.A. degree from Thomas Edison University, B.S. Degree from Southern Illinois University, and Master's Degrees from Ball State and The National Defense University. In 1978 after thirteen years of enlisted service, he attended Officer Training School where he was a distinguished graduate and commissioned a Second Lieutenant.
He served as a budget officer at several Air Force bases; Chief of Budget at Headquarters Air Combat Command; Director of Budget Programs at HQ USAF; and Chief Financial Officer, HQ Air Education, and Training Command at The United States Special Operations Command, J-8.
He commanded the Holms Center at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, and The Second Air Force at Keesler AFB, Mississippi. In 2009, he was appointed as The Deputy Assistant Secretary of budget in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force.
On 1 January 2012, after forty-six years and five months of service, he retired from the United States Air Force, making him the longest-serving airman in Air Force history, the longest serving African American in defense history, and the longest serving continuous active duty member in the history of The United States Department of Defense.
His military recognitions include two Distinguished Service Medals, the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (plus seventeen other decorations).
He previously served on the board of directors for the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, the Air Force Aid Society, and the Air Force Services Agency, and is currently serving on nine boards as Vice Chairman and director.
Major General (R) Flowers was inducted into the Air Education and Training Command "Order of The Sword" on April 6, 2012, making him the 224th Air Force inductee since 1967.
He was also inducted into "The Order of The Long Leaf Pine" by the Governor of North Carolina in August 2016. Additionally, he was recognized by the Air Force Association with a Lifetime Achievement Award September 2018. He is married to Ida M. Flowers and they have one son, Brigadier General Alfred K. Flowers, Jr.

Alfred Martell is a Case Manager for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, El Paso. Aside from his case management responsibilities, Alfred also serves as a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern for the Cohen Clinic, acquiring clinical hours for future treatment services with Endeavors.
With experience including four years of working with the Department of Defense at Ft. Bliss, Alfred has assisted active duty service members and their families for mission readiness by providing epidemiological services and wellness.
Willing to do whatever it takes to support his clients, he is fully committed to working collaboratively by sharing ideas and demonstrating mutual respect.
In his spare time, Alfred enjoys playing golf which helps him reduce stress by providing minimal social contact, fresh air, and mental stimulation.

Amanda Green is the Intake Coordinator/Case Manager for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, El Paso. Amanda started her journey with the Cohen Clinic at Endeavors as a Baylor University Clinical Masters of Social Work intern in May 2022. She was then hired on as the Intake Coordinator/Case Manager. She is part of a team that conducts initial assessments to determine mental health needs, care requirements, and program services needed for ADSM, Veterans, and their families. Some of her responsibilities are to complete intakes and assess family needs assessments, create service plans, provide information and referral services, and conduct follow-up services for members.
Amanda is an El Paso native who spent 20 years in finance until she decided to switch directions and follow her dream of becoming an LCSW. Amanda received her Bachelor's Degree in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in English Literature from the University of Texas in El Paso. She will graduate from Baylor University with her Master of Social Work in May 2023. Following graduation, Amanda will obtain her LCSW and hopes to practice as a clinician at the Cohen Clinic at Endeavors.
In her free time, Amanda enjoys traveling, her two daughters/family, and various animals you can find roaming around her home.

Amy has experience with all aspects of business and commercial litigation including: managing files from pre-suit demands through trial or arbitration in a variety of matters. She has specific experience in intellectual property litigation, financial services litigation, insurance defense and energy litigation. Prior to joining RBFCU, Amy was an Associate Attorney in the San Antonio office of Dykema Gossett, PLLC, then known as Dykema Cox Smith.

Andrew Santos is an Outreach Coordinator for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, San Antonio and the Endeavors Veteran Wellness Center where he is responsible for the recruitment of clients through various outreach opportunities. He works closely with local community partners including veteran service organizations, multi-service organizations, the military population, the Veterans Administration, and many others to communicate that our services are available to those in need.
Graduating at the top of his class, Andrew holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership.
In his off time, Andrew enjoys riding his bike, walking his dog Raina, playing basketball, and spending time with his daughter and family.
Andy is the COO for ATKG, which is a tax, accounting, advisory, assurance and litigation support firm that provides services for a select client base of closely held businesses and large family groups. Andy has 27 years of finance and accounting experience. Prior to joining ATKG, he served as CFO of Health by Design, and SVP CFO of Firstmark Credit Union. Andy has a BBA in Accounting from Abilene Christian University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Antoinette D. Ivey is the Administrative Assistant for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, San Antonio.
She helps provide first-rate and easily attainable mental health care to Veterans, active duty service members, and military family members by utilizing her highly motivated and organized extensive work experience. Whether taking initial calls, gathering personal information, referring potential clients to the appropriate clinician, assisting with scheduling appointments as needed, or supporting the office manager and clinical staff, Antoinette takes pride in her work and is always ready to help those in need.
As a Veteran, Antoinette is passionate about assisting Veterans, active duty service members, and their families. She enjoys being part of a diverse team serving the Veteran community via the Cohen Clinic.

After 12 years of leadership and quality assurance in the corporate world, she has transitioned into a full-time role within the mental health field. Her clinical experience includes individual counseling for adults, adolescents, and children. She also specializes in working with life transitions and depression, as well as with the LGBTQ+ population.
Charlie is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate. She holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio, as well as two Master's Degrees from Pacifica Graduate Institute.
In her spare time, Charlie is working on her Ph.D. in Depth Psychology and enjoys spending time with her partner, reading, relaxing outdoors, and traveling.

Mr. Fulghum served as a U.S. Air Force officer for 28 years, rising to the rank of Colonel. After his Air Force career, Mr. Fulghum built a successful career within the Department of Homeland Security, where he oversaw all aspects of the Department's management programs, including financial, human capital, information technology, procurement, security and asset management.
As CEO of Endeavors, as well as its President & COO, Chip Fulghum leads a national service organization of nearly 2,000 employees.
Based in San Antonio, Texas, Endeavors provides community-based housing services, Veteran family mental health and wellness clinics, emergency disaster response, and humanitarian support for migrant families and unaccompanied children across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Endeavors has assisted vulnerable people in crisis since its founding by five San Antonio churches in 1969.
Mr. Fulghum joined Endeavors as its COO in 2019, before being promoted to President & COO in 2022. He accepted the role of CEO in January 2024, affirming his dedication to the organization's mission of service.
An accomplished senior executive with more than 35 years of federal experience, Mr. Fulghum is a proven leader who can integrate and manage complex efforts.
Chris Crawford is a successful business professional, entrepreneurial executive and investor with more than two decades of leadership and board experience within dynamic and growing organizations.
As a West Point graduate and decorated Veteran, Crawford's connection to Endeavors' mission is clear. As an Endeavors board member, he is excited to serve his fellow former service members.
Crawford's history of philanthropic service includes serving on the board of Crossroads Community Services, an organization with a mission to nourish the local community's low-income families and individuals by providing nutritious food and supportive education.
Crawford received his B.S. from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He resides in the North Dallas area with his wife, Travene, and their two children. Crawford began his term on the Endeavors board in July 2022.
For more than three decades Chris Talley led communication programs and delivered results from the front row, culminating in his role as a FORTUNE 100 chief communications officer.
Through the years he led teams at USAA and Lockheed Martin and dozens of others while at one of the world's most prestigious public relations agencies, FleishmanHillard. Most recently, Chris was chief communications officer for USAA. Today, he leads Talley Communication Strategies, volunteers in the community and devotes time speaking at colleges across the country, supporting students seeking careers in communications.
Chris earned a journalism degree from Baylor University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He is a trustee for the Institute for Public Relations and a member of Page. He proudly serves on the Endeavors board and the Alamo Area Council - Boy Scouts of America board, along with the Baylor Journalism, PR & New Media advisory board. Previous board service includes KRLN-TV (PBS) and Sunshine Cottage School for Deaf Children. Chris and wife Laura have been married for more than 30 years and are proud parents of three adult children.

Cynthia Torres serves as a Clinician for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, El Paso. With six years of experience working with military/Veteran populations in the mental health field, her focus is on couples therapy and trauma.
Working in the mental health field for the past 12 years, Cynthia has held roles including Behavioral Interventionist for children with autism, Case Manager for underprivileged populations and individuals with intellectual developmental disabilities, and Program Manager for an inpatient womens' unit. Additionally, while completing her internship hours, she worked in an inpatient setting with Veterans and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) services providing individual and group therapy.

David (Dave) Alvarado serves as the Office Manager for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, San Antonio. He strives to build a positive client experience through management of the clinic's day to day administrative operations that supports the clinical, outreach, and case management staff. Process improvement through tracking of key performance indicators (KPI's), verifying authorizations, billing inquiries, and management of operational expenses and supply inventory are also under his preview.
Dave retired from the Air Force after of 26 years of service as a medic. During his service he had multiple deployments and oversaw the Hospital Inpatient Units including Intensive Care Unit, Labor & Delivery, and the Medical/Surgical Units. He has a diverse history of leadership and customer service along with a Bachelor's degree in Health Care Studies and a Master's degree in Homeland Security. He has been recognized for his volunteer work with the Institute for Human Services Soup Kitchen and Overseas Special Olympics. Joining the Cohen Clinic team gives him an opportunity to continue to serve those who serve or have served and their families.
Dave enjoys spending time with family, watching foreign films, exploring culinary adventures, football, and opportunities to learn and teach new things.
David (Dave) Eaton is a Clinician for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, San Antonio. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) who specializes in adult, individual, and couples therapy. His professional focus involves trauma, suicide prevention, peer to peer support, and stress management.
Dave is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who started his Army career as an enlisted soldier in December 1987. Retiring on September 30, 2019, he served in several overseas combat deployments as an infantryman in the 82nd airborne division. Additionally, Dave completed assignments at the United States Military Academy, the Army Command and General Staff College, and in France with the French Rapid Reaction Corps.
Dave's hobbies outside of work include traveling, scuba diving, hunting, and fishing.

Davie White is a Regional Data Manager for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics at Endeavors. In his role, Davie coordinates, develops, and creates reports that show the clinic's health by making key performance indicators (KPIs) readily readable.
Additionally, Davie is the administrator for the Electronic Health Record (EHR); he is responsible for upholding data integrity and maintaining up-to-date records by using data visualization software that shows if there are missing, overdue, or out-of-the norm items. Davie's background and experience in hardware repair allow him to contribute to the clinic as the De Facto onsite IT tech. He took it upon himself to learn Tableau Desktop, the record-keeping interface for Cohen Veteran Network and earned his Tableau Desktop Specialist Certification.
A U.S. Navy Veteran, Davie is a current Assistant Scoutmaster with a local Boy Scout Troop, where he mentors scouts in the area of personal fitness, archery, and orienteering. He is also a second degree Black Belt in the Korean martial art of Mu Sool Won, a Level 1 Certified Instructor with the United States Archery Association (USA Archery), and a Harley Davidson rider.
Dominique Flambert is a Clinician for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, El Paso. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and at the Cohen Clinic, Dominique provides treatment to Veterans, active duty service members, and military families.
She holds a Master's Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Military Social Work from the University of Southern California. Dominique has worked in the mental health field for close to seven years holding positions that range from a Behavioral Therapist for Military children with Autism to a Military Therapist in partial hospitalization settings and has experience with outpatient care that provides individual and group therapy to children, women, adults, seniors, and military populations, including military children and adolescents.
She has spent the past 6 years working with Veteran and military populations in the mental health field with a focus on life skills, chemical dependency, trauma, attachment, irrational thoughts, and proper sleep hygiene. Dondee (Dee) Swart is a Regional Prescriber for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, San Antonio. Dr. Karina L. Bocanegra is a Supervising Clinician for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, San Antonio, and has worked in the behavioral health field since 2013.
A native El Pasoan, Karina holds a Bachelor's degree from The University of Texas at El Paso in Psychology. Additionally, she holds both a Master's degree and a Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Saint Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas.
With clinical experience including individual counseling, as well as couple and family therapy, Karina helps the Cohen Clinic treat couples and families with relationship issues using evidence-based practices and treats individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
Karina is fluent in both English and Spanish and has experience in Crisis Response Planning and was selected to be part of the Minority Fellowship Program of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists for two years in a row, where she presented her research on Hispanic soldiers and substance abuse.
Coming from a Veteran family in which her grandfather, father, and older sister all served on active duty, Karina is familiar with the many challenges service members and their families face.

Elizabeth (Liz) Mendoza serves as a Receptionist for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, El Paso, where she provides administrative support and manages daily tasks related to the front desk.
She often provides the clinic's first impression with her duties including answering calls from clients, potential clients, and community partners, following up with clients who have missed their appointment to ensure their well-being, scheduling client appointments, and greeting and directing visitors, clients, and stakeholders. Liz's other responsibilities involve organizing and filing sensitive files and documents while maintaining compliance with HIPAA, coordinating clinicians' schedules, and scheduling childcare and transportation to and from the clinic for clients that need it.

Frankie Lara is a Supervising Clinician for the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, San Antonio, and has worked in the behavioral health field since 2011.
A native Texan, Frankie holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Minor in Neuroscience from Texas A&M University. Frankie was selected as a Texas A&M University Undergraduate Research Scholar for 2 years in a row, winning 1 st Place in Taxonomy each year for his research and moved on to be first author of several publications. Additionally, he holds a Master's degree in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University in San Antonio, Texas.
With clinical experience including individual counseling, adolescent, and couples and family therapy, Frankie helps the Cohen Clinic treat adults and adolescents with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), as well as a range of other disorders using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
Frankie has extensive practice in treating individuals in the community who are at acute risk of crisis, who experience complex trauma, with Serious Mental Illness, and with high comorbidities, including the position of Clinical Practitioner at the Haven for Hope Homeless Shelter and the position of Program Director at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio for the HHSC Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) Program. He was eager to bring these skills to Endeavors to help their most destitute clientele.
Coming from a Veteran family in which both grandfathers, uncles, and brother previously or currently serve on active duty, along with prior experience treating veteran's and their families, Frankie is familiar with the many challenges service members and their loved one's face.

Ismael Lopez is the Outreach Director for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, El Paso. Helping the Cohen Clinic maintain and raise awareness of its services, he coordinates and develops educational groups and webinars and collaborates with other community organizations.
Ismael has been recognized with several awards for his service, including the 2020 El Paso County Veteran of the Year, Official Star Lighter Award, 2019 Homefront Teacher of the Year and NAMI's 2018 Peer to Peer Teacher of the Year Awards. Additionally, he has received special recognition by former Congressman Beto O'Rourke for his work within the Veteran community.
Ismael graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso in 2022 with his Master's in Social Work. His goal is to help other veterans seek the help they need and encourage them to thrive.

Jennifer (Jenny) Boyles is a Case Manager for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, San Antonio where she facilitates and provides community services for Veterans, active-duty service members, and military families.

He also served as Chief Operating Officer and Acting Commissioner for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where he oversaw 60,000 employees, managed a budget of nearly $15 billion, and ensured the effective operations of CBP's mission to protect national security while promoting economic prosperity.
John has served on multiple Board of Directors for public and private companies. In addition to his corporate work, John has served as Trustee for a university and is the founder of the Blue Iris Fund, a partnership with Glasswing International, to help children and families affected by migration, poverty, and violence.
Jose Duran Jr graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) with a Master of Science degree in mental health counseling. During his time as a graduate student, his internships consisted of working with individuals with a history of facing domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Beginning his career as a Social Service Case Manager, Manuel worked within the foster care system while he obtained his Master's degree in Mental Health.
As a highly skilled clinician, Manuel assists the Cohen Clinic in providing mental health recovery services for Veterans and military families. With a skill set ranging from play therapy to trauma-focused cognitive processing therapy, he is able to provide services to individuals, couples, and families as needed for their recovery.

Utilizing extensive knowledge of America's complex housing systems, Mark helps clients navigate the processes to find stability and rediscover dignity through his work with a variety of government and local philanthropic and community resources.
Mark has worked as a housing specialist for more than a decade. His career has been shaped by his own struggles with the instability of homelessness. He battled addiction for two decades - and homelessness for more than 10 years - before landing at Haven for Hope, a nonprofit for people in Bexar County, Texas, who are experiencing homelessness.
After graduating from the program in 2011, he became the very firstformerclient to work on the Haven for Hope campus - paving a trail for others who have successfully transitioned into support roles at the center.
After more than seven years at Haven for Hope, Mark joined Endeavors in 2018 to bring his expertise to focus more on supporting Veterans. He was inspired by the loss of his brother, a Navy veteran, who committed suicide. At Endeavors, Mark is enrolled in a Zero Suicide Training program to help clients and anyone else in need.
Mark's work at Endeavors - as both an employee and a member of the board - is inspired by his recognition that the stability of a home can be the first step to help vulnerable populations get back on their feet. He offers his clients a full range of support: locating and securing housing, assisting with documents and appointments, and - always - following up to build relationships. His goal is to one day establish and run a Permanent Supportive Housing apartment complex for veterans, using his story and experiences to help support others.

She has over 20 years' experience in providing case management and support services within the Military Healthcare system; her clinical experience including areas of assessment and diagnosis, trauma, adjustment disorders, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders. Melissa is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Melissa is retired from the Air National Guard, having navigated moving every three to five years in support of her husband's military career while raising their two boys.

Michelle A. Cortez is a Clinician for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, El Paso. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Certified Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional. At the Cohen Clinic, she provides treatment to Veterans and military families.
Michelle holds a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University and has worked in the mental health field for close to six years. Holding positions that range from Program Therapist to Program Manager, she has experience with inpatient care that provides individual and group therapy to children, women, adults, seniors, and military populations, including military children and adolescents. Michelle has spent the past three years working with Veteran and military populations in the mental health field with a focus on trauma.

Natasha L. Walden is the Outreach Director for The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Endeavors, San Antonio. Serving as a key member of the clinic staff, some of her primary responsibilities are dedicated to managing and executing the clinic's outreach strategy and developing the referral pipeline, recruiting post-9/11 Veterans, Active Duty Service Members with Tricare referrals, and military families in the community, as well as establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners, the VA, military bases, VSO partners, and resources for in/out referrals.
A Veteran of the United States Military, Natasha has over 20 years of service as an Intelligence Analyst. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and certifications in Equal Opportunity, leadership training, peer to peer facilitation, and Advanced Life Coaching. Valerie works directly under the Office Manager and helps manage and distribute information within the office while contributing to the team in all areas needed to ensure any issues are quickly and efficiently resolved.
As a family member of Veterans, Valerie loves helping the Veteran community and their families as much as she can and will continue to do so in the years to come.
When Valerie isn't working, she loves to hang out with her family and friends. She also enjoys playing with her four dogs and her bunny.
Will Owen passed away shortly after this story was written in 2020. We are grateful for his many contributions to the Endeavors family, and we continue to honor his legacy through service and dignity.
Will has been an active Fairweather Lodge member since May of 1994. He is the President and Medication Monitor of Progressive Lodge and has also taken the lead in managing the lodge bank account and assisting his fellow lodge members with day to day living skills.
After a few months of entering the program, Will began working for Fairweather Professional Services, now known as Endeavors Unlimited in their janitorial and landscaping crew. He resigned several years ago. He volunteers with the San Antonio Club House in his spare time. Throughout his 24 years with the Fairweather Lodge Program, he has received numerous awards including Employee of the Month, Employee of the Year, Client of the Quarter, and Client of the Year.
