Alice Karvot

Job Titles:
  • Registered Veterinary Nurse
Alice joined us as a student veterinary nurse early 2018 and qualified this November. During her training she had experience in a charity practice and in her previous years, worked for a local animal rescue centre. Born and raised in Cleethorpes, Alice has always loved animals and wanted to be a veterinary nurse from a young age. She has a love for small animals; previously owning house bunnies, a bearded dragon, cockatiel and more recently her beloved cat Tod who was a stray kitten that she rescued. She's currently loving being newly qualified and enjoys being part of the old reg team.

Amy Hoggins

Job Titles:
  • Head Registered Veterinary Nurse
Amy has always had a great interest in animals and knew she wanted to work with them from an early age. She is also keen on art and initially studied art and design at college but her interest in animals eventually won the conflict and after 6 years working in the veterinary world, qualified as a registered nurse in 2012. Her clinical interests include hands-on nursing, surgery, radiography and wound management. She is also experienced in running nursing and weight-management clinics. Amy is a big animal lover and adores her whippet Frapple and cat Gherkin. Her outside interests include exploring new places with Frapple, reading in the sunshine and arts and crafts. Amy is our Cat Advocat, she makes sure that we maintain our standards to be cat friendly in our practice and would be happy to talk to you about what we do to make any visit less scary for our feline friends.

David Mayhew

Job Titles:
  • Senior Veterinary Surgeon
David graduated from Cambridge University and has lived and worked locally, providing high-quality veterinary care to the pets of North Lincolnshire since 2009. He has a particular interest in surgery and is currently studying for the British Small Animal Veterinary Association certificate in Surgery with the ultimate aim of being recognised as an advanced practitioner in Surgery. He is experienced and competent at treating a wide range of medical conditions and routine, non-routine and emergency surgeries. His other interests include dermatology, oncology (cancer treatment) and ultrasound examination. David and his partner Amy live within walking distance from the practice with Frapple the whippet and cat Gherkin, both of whom were rescued from unfortunate situations. Frapple can often be seen at the surgery or sprinting around the parks of Scunthorpe.

Hayley Broadbent

Job Titles:
  • Registered Veterinary Nurse
Hayley joined the old registry family in early 2019 partway through her nursing studies after having an excellent start at a local practice, qualifying in August 2019. Pictured here with her beloved pooch Marley (also known as Moo) She traded a job in hospitality for a raincoat and wellies, working in boarding kennels whilst volunteering for a local animal charity before starting out in veterinary as a kennel maid 3 years ago. She is enjoying her new role as a qualified veterinary nurse and being a part of the Old Registry team.

Karen Neall

Job Titles:
  • Kennel Assistant
Karen shares her home with her dog's: Phoebe, Monica, Diva, Lucy, Riley, Reiko and Flin, along with her 2 cats: Winnie and Wilf. She likes to Rescue and Re-home animals where possible. She enjoy's life best when she is around animals.

Kat Willey

Job Titles:
  • Practice Manager
Kat started out her veterinary career as a receptionist 10+ years ago, she loved all aspects of it and has been with Old Registry since our beginning in 2017, starting out as head receptionist and as of September 2021 moving into the practice manager role. When she isn't at work she can be found running around after her 4 rescue cats, Hansel, Gretal, Calcifer and Locksley, gaming, or sharpening her karate skills.

Simon Maddy

Job Titles:
  • Senior Veterinary Surgeon
Simon qualified from Bristol University and after working mainly in Devon and Norfolk, moved to Scunthorpe with four children, three dogs and a cat in 1985. He took over a small existing surgery and it developed into a busy small animal practice. After a few years out of the profession he started doing part-time work as a vet in 2016 and joined David at Old Registry Vets in 2017 to resume his career in the town.

Viv Lecher

Job Titles:
  • Veterinary Nursing Assistant
Viv volunteered at Andrew's Hedgehog Hospital for a year before getting snapped up by Old Registry Vets after meeting David and Amy at a charity event. It was clear that she had a genuine love for animals and the perfect attributes to become a veterinary nurse. Although she can't iron her uniform, she is a very hard worker when it comes to our inpatients. Viv owns a GSD/Husky named Asha, 2 dumbo rats named Racoon and Bandit and recently adopted a cat called Pong from the surgery.
