Dr. Nadia Samad Locey

Dr. Nadia Samad Locey is a licensed psychologist in the state of Nevada (PY0764). She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Stony Brook University in 2014. Previously, Dr. Locey graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland in 2008 with a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S. in Psychology with Honors. Dr. Locey completed her predoctoral internship at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, providing psychological services to clients throughout the lifespan in English and Spanish. She went on to participate in her first postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington with Dr. Marsha Linehan, the developer of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Dr. Locey then completed another postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Jacqueline Pistorello at the University of Nevada, Reno, focusing on providing clinical services to college students and conducting research on evidence-based treatments for suicidal behaviors. Dr. Locey is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for adolescents and adults with chronically dysregulated emotions, suicidal behaviors, self-harm behaviors, and Borderline Personality Disorder traits. She is also intensively trained in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Prolonged Exposure protocol for adolescents and adults with comorbid Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD. In addition, Dr. Locey specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adolescents and adults with anxiety and depression. She has specialty training in exposure treatments for Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, Specific Phobia, PTSD, and OCD. Dr. Locey also completed the 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program with Drs. Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. She is bilingual and provides services in both English and Spanish.
