Dr Alan Bray has now retired from surgery and patient consultation. He continues to report and supervise vascular ultrasound with Vascular One HealthCare. Dr Mathew Sebastian

Dr Mathew Sebastian is a vascular surgeon with over 20 years of experience and expertise, having trained and worked in Singapore, USA, France and Australia. He has been providing his services to the Newcastle and Hunter Region of New South Wales this past decade. Dr Sebastian previously served as Chief of Vascular Surgery as well as Director of the Non-Invasive Vascular Lab at Singapore General Hospital. He held academic appointments in two medical schools in Singapore and was Adjunct Associate Professor on the faculty of the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore until the end of 2012. In 2009, Dr Sebastian started working closely with Dr Alan Bray, recipient of the Order of Australia Medal 2018 for distinguished services in the field of vascular surgery, and founder of Vascular HealthCare (now Vascular One). When Dr Bray retired in 2012, Dr Sebastian, together with Dr Nicole Organ, took over and ensured the continued care of Dr Bray's patients. Dr Sebastian's practice includes the full range of vascular surgical and endovascular procedures, with specific interest in the endovascular management of aortic aneurysms as well as in expanding the role of endovascular interventions in limb salvage, particularly infra-genicular and ‘diabetic foot' disease. He is currently working with podiatrists from the University of Newcastle on several research projects relating to the evaluation and treatment of vascular disease in the growing diabetic population, with ongoing collaborations with the world-renowned vascular department at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. Dr Sebastian has a public appointment as Staff Specialist Vascular Surgeon at the John Hunter Hospital where he is training supervisor for RACS vascular surgical trainees and Director of the Vascular Ultrasound Lab. Dr Sebastian also consults in his rooms at Gateshead, Merewether and East Maitland. Dr Sebastian runs Vascular One, a non-invasive vascular ultrasound laboratory in the Newcastle and Hunter region. Dr Naomi Hunter

Dr Naomi Hunter is a leading phlebologist in the region, with close to 30 years of experience behind her. She graduated in medicine from the University of Newcastle in 1985. Following her years of internship and residency, she commenced general practice in Newcastle in 1988. In 1989, she commenced training in the field of Phlebology at the Cardiovascular Centre, Newcastle under the tutelage of Dr Alan Bray and Dr Paul Thibault, both prominent pioneers in this field. Dr Hunter runs her practice, Hunter Vein Clinic, out of the Vascular One rooms at Toronto and East Maitland. She continues to take an active interest in the latest developments in phlebology treatment modalities. Dr Naomi Hunter is a leading phlebologist in the region, with over 30 years of experience behind her. She has worked as an assistant surgeon, particularly in the field of varicose vein surgery.

Dr Nicole Organ

Dr Nicole Organ is a Vascular and Endovascular surgeon in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area. She is a senior staff specialist at John Hunter with an active interest in improving quality of care and education in vascular surgery and medicine. Dr Nicole Organ is a senior member of the Vascular One Team providing consultation and surgery for vascular conditions and supervising vascular ultrasound services. Dr Organ was the Director of Vascular Surgery at John Hunter Hospital for 5 years and then the Deputy Director of Surgery for 5 years. She is now the stream leader for the Hunter New England wound stream. Dr Organ is passionate about improving medical education and patient care. As well as the teaching of local Newcastle doctors and nurses Dr Organ has furthered this interest by being involved in teaching at national vascular surgery skills and exam preparation courses, working as clinical lead for Hunter New England; Venous Thrombosis prevention programme and Wound stream as well as working as a Board member on the Royal Australasian college of Surgeons Board of Vascular Surgery. Dr Organ is an experienced surgeon and clinician working as a vascular surgeon in Newcastle since 2007. Her interests include the surgical and non surgical management of vascular disease using both open and minimally invasive (endovascular) techniques. Dr Organ has been a full member of the Australian Vascular Audit since its inception in 2009 contributing all her major cases and outcomes for review against Australian standards. Dr Organ collaborates with other specialties to ensure comprehensive patient care. She offers vascular surgery using minimally invasive techniques such as endovascular surgery where appropriate. Dr Organ stays at the forefront of vascular surgery innovations through attendance and presentations at conferences and workshops, as well as working closely with specialized vascular ultrasonographers and medical specialists. She provides diagnosis of vascular conditions and advice about preventative care and non-operative therapies. Dr Organ performs a wide range of operative vascular surgeries and minimally invasive endovascular procedures and enters her operative results for analysis by the national Australian Vascular Audit. Dr Organ has published research on the topics of Carotid Endarterectomy, Vascular Examination and Vascular surgery Cases. She has also supervised research for post graduate studies for junior doctors and senior nurses. Dr Nicole Organ is a Vascular and Endovascular surgeon in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area. Dr Senthil Kumar

Senthil was born in India and completed his Medical school and surgical training in India. He then moved to England and undertook his higher surgical training and specialist training in Vascular surgery from Mersey region (Liverpool). During his training he did research in the field of Varicose veins and Vascular access in dialysis patients. Senthil spent twelve months at John Hunter Hospital undertaking endovascular fellowship at the end of which he was appointed as a consultant at John Hunter Hospital. Senthil has been a consultant vascular and Endovascular surgeon in Australia close to a decade and has high volume surgical experience. The family emigrated to Newcastle in 2013. Senthil loves spending time with his wife and two energetic children. In his reflective moments he enjoys cooking, Cricket, following Liverpool FC and walking. Senthil was born in India and completed his Medical school and surgical training in India. He has been a consultant vascular and Endovascular surgeon in Australia close to a decade.
