Kenneth D. Bynum

Kenneth D. Bynum, a native of Goffstown, New Hampshire, is a graduate of the George Williams College in Downers Grove, Illinois. Mr. Bynum earned a Bachelors of Science in both Applied Behavioral Science and Leisure and Environmental Resources Administration at the George Williams College in 1978. In 1995 he received the Alumni of the Year Award, the College's highest honor. He received his Juris Doctor from Howard School of Law in 1983. While in law school Mr. Bynum was selected as a member of the Howard Law Journal. While on the Law Journal he published two articles and served as the Business Manager. He also received the Am Jur Award in Family Law. Upon graduation, he served as Law Clerk to the Chief Judge of the Superior Court for the District of Columbia the Honorable H. Carl Moultrie, I. After the successful completion of his clerkship, Mr. Bynum joined the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia as an Assistant United States Attorney. As a prosecutor he gained valuable experience in the area of criminal law. Prior to the formation of Bynum & Jenkins, PLLC, Mr. Bynum was a partner at the Washington, D.C. based law firm of Koonz, McKenney, Johnson, DePaolis & Lightfoot, LLP, where his practice areas included serious personal injury litigation involving toxic torts, asbestos, products liability, and negligence. During his career, Mr. Bynum has obtained several million dollar verdicts and settlements in serious personal injury cases. Mr. Bynum is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., chairman of the Northern Virginia Urban League and a member of the Board of Trustees of Aurora University. He is also a member of Alfred Street Baptist Church located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia.

Madison Gibbs

Madison Gibbs graduated magna cum laude from North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications, and earned her law degree from Howard University School of Law. Ms. Gibbs placed first at the 2017 William E. McGee National Civil Rights Moot Court Competition in St. Paul, Minnesota, was a Charles Hamilton Houston National Moot Court team member, and a Criminal Justice Clinic student attorney. Ms. Gibbs is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Sigma Iota Sorority, Inc., and Kingdom Fellowship A.M.E. Church in Silver Spring, MD.

Robert L. Jenkins

Mr. Jenkins actively handles a variety of white collar crime matters in both state and federal courts. He is a graduate of the National Law Center at the George Washington University. Over the last 25 years Mr. Jenkins has successfully defended individuals accused of embezzlement, wire fraud, bank fraud, bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy, theft of government property, aggravated identity theft, and tax related violations. He has tried more than 100 jury trials. In addition, Mr. Jenkins litigates matters on direct appeal as well as related post-conviction matters. He is a member of the Virginia State Bar and has been admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, United States District Courts for the District of Colorado, Eastern District of Virginia, Western District of Virginia and District of Columbia. He has also been granted special permission to appear in matters before the United States District Courts for the Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, District of West Virginia, and the District of Maryland. In 1998 Mr. Jenkins was inducted into the George Mason Inns of Court as a Barrister in recognition of his accomplishments in the legal field. In 2017, the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys honored him with an award for client satisfaction. In 2020, Mr. Jenkins was named to the top 10 list of criminal defense attorney's in Northern Virginia by Attorney and Practice Magazine. He also holds professional memberships in the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers. Mr. Jenkins has appeared as a legal commentator on local and national television. He has been featured on the reality series American Greed. Mr. Jenkins has been quoted in the both the Washington Post and Washington Times. He also routinely lectures as a Virginia Continuing Legal Education speaker on federal criminal defense issues. He is a life member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Delta Tau Legal Fraternity, and Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.
