Patricia S. Plouffe

In 1979, Ms. Stepanski Plouffe founded Career Management Consultants, which was one of the first companies in central Massachusetts that recognized the need for employee Individualized Development Programs, Career Counseling, Life/Work Planning, and Outplacement. To date, the organization has maintained a 97% success rate, as stated by present and previous clients. Today, services have expanded to include Team Building, Executive Coaching, Stress Management, Focus/Support Groups, Trailing Spouse Programs and Pre-retirement Counseling. Tricia has chosen exciting and relevant education and employment experiences that have enhanced her ability to assist others as they explore change, career expansion, and personal/career development. After completing Worcester public schooling, she majored in Industrial Psychology at Dean Junior College, then transferred to Springfield College, where she graduated with Honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Sociology and Anthropology. Tricia earned her Masters Degree in Education with two majors, Management and Counseling Psychology, with Honors from Boston College. In addition to these degrees, she has completed special coursework at Harvard University in Organizational Behavior. She is CMEA certified in Human Resources. Tricia's career has included being Associate Director of Career Planning and Placement at Babson College, a business management college in Wellesley, MA.; Sales in Computers at Index Systems, Inc., in Cambridge, MA.; Assistant to General Manager of the Boston Symphony, Inc., in Boston, MA.; Benefits and Recruitment Manager at the former Paul Revere Life Insurance Company, in Worcester, MA.; and instructor of management related courses at Anna Maria College, Central New England College, Babson College, Boston College, and CMIME. Tricia founded Women's Chief Executives of Central Massachusetts, an association for women entrepreneurs. She has consulted with over 5,800 individuals and 100 companies and organizations throughout the United States. Most recently, you may have seen her on the cable television program, "Planning For The Future", highlighted on Central New England Channels on WCTR, where she shared updated information about the job market and ways to pursue employment. She can be heard monthly on "The Career Clinic", a radio program located in Wisconsin. For the past 11+ years, Tricia has been highlighted as a resource in the best-seller book, "What Color Is Your Parachute?" written by Richard Bolles. Tricia is often called by newspapers to provide input into articles about career management issues and has been profiled in the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. As a community member, she is a Corporator for the American Red Cross of Central Massachusetts, a member of Worcester Executives Association, and a member of the Human Resources Management Association. Her avocational involvements include membership with the Worcester Art Museum, Tower Hill Botanic Garden of Boylston, The Worcester Preservation Society, and Amnesty International.
