Abu Naushad Parvez was a Materials Engineer (withdrew from PhD program in 2022) worked with Dr. Julie Karel at Monash University. Under research theme 1, his primary focus was towards making room temperature multiferroics (where ferroelectric and ferromagnetic orders are coupled intrinsically), which can be useful for faster switching and low power consuming electronic devices.

A/Prof Agustin Schiffrin (Monash) is an ARC Future Fellow who investigates optically driven topological phases of materials by means of state-of-the-art ultrafast photonics, pump-probe spectroscopy and time-resolved scanning probe microscopy techniques. As a Chief Investigator at FLEET, Agustin was mainly involved in Research Theme 1 and Research Theme 3. FLEET Executive Committee 2023-2024.

PI Prof Allan MacDonald worked within FLEET to understand theoretically excitonic superfluids in atomically-thin materials, which he first proposed, as well as developing ideas for new device structures and explore their potential performance. Prof MacDonald worked with FLEET theory CIs Culcer, Sushkov and Parish and experimental CIs Fuhrer, Wang, Hamilton, Kalantar-Zadeh within the Centre's Research Theme 1 and Theme 2 on artificial graphene, Dirac semimetals, and excitonic superfluidity.

Within FLEET, AI Dr Amgad Rezk, who was RMIT Vice Chancellor's postdoctoral fellow (2015-2018), used surface acoustic waves devices to both synthesise and modulate the electrical and optical properties of a host of 2D nanomaterials. In collaboration with other Centre investigators they sought new ways to synthesise novel 2D materials and modulate their physical/photoemission/electronic properties using surface acoustic waves.

PI Prof Andrea Perali coordinated collaboration between FLEET and the University of Camerino, including collaborative research, collaborator visits, and exchange of postdoctoral researchers. Dr Amelia Dominguez's research focuses on atomic and electronic characterisation of 2D materials. She began her position with FLEET in 2022 as a Research Fellow working with FLEET Director, Michael Fuhrer at Monash University.

Dr Aydin C. Keser was a theoretical postdoctoral researcher working with Dr Dimitrie Culcer at UNSW on transport properties of surface states in topological materials, including disorder and interaction effects. Dr Keser completed his master's and PhD in the University of Maryland as a Fulbright visiting scholar and he is a member of the American Physical Society. He was working on non-universal corrections to transport due to interactions between carriers, as part of FLEET's Research Theme 1, topological materials.

Dr Carlos Kuhn is now a strategic analyst working with optimisation algorithms in the Australian public service. At FLEET, Carlos was a postgraduate with Prof Chris Vale in Swinburne University of Technology's ultra-cold atomic gas group, where his primary focus was commissioning of a new quantum-gas microscope laboratory, the first of its kind in Australia, which will allow investigation of quantum effects at a macroscopic scale, a key component of non-equilibrium physics studied within FLEET Research theme 3, light-transformed materials.

Dr Catherine Buchanan is currently a Research administrator at Éditrice Scientifique, Université Côte d'Azur, Nice, France. Catherine was FLEET's Executive Officer between 2017 and 2019. She coordinated reporting of key performance indicators and budgets across the FLEET nodes and provides administrative support to the Executive team and other committees.
Catherine has a PhD in Astrophysics from the Australian National University and six years of research experience in America and Australia. Before FLEET, Catherine was a senior administrator for the ARC Centre of Excellence for Particle Physics at the Terascale (CoEPP).
Dr Catherine Taylor holds a PhD in Plant Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Her thesis was on the genetics, development and signalling mechanisms of hormones. Catherine has 4 years of University Administration experience at the University of Cambridge and joined UNSW in 2020 after moving to Australia from the UK. As FLEET's node administrator at UNSW, she supported members at UNSW node and the FLEET business team with local activities.

Dr Cathy Foley AO is Australia's Chief Scientist. Previously as Chief Scientist and Deputy and Science Director of CSIRO Manufacturing, she worked to engage Australian manufacturers and researchers to translate research into economic prosperity. Her contributions to the understanding of superconducting electronics and devices were recognised with the 2014 International IEEE Award for Continuing and Significant Contributions to Applied Superconductivity. She is Chair of the Australian National Fabrication Facility Victorian Node Collaboration Committee and the ARC Steel Hub Advisory Committee. She was awarded the Clunies Ross Medal of the Australian Academy of Technological Science and Engineering in 2015 and the Australian Institute of Physics' Outstanding Service to Physics Award in 2016.

Dr Chang Liu studies the electronic properties of low-dimensional topological materials. Chang completed his PhD with FLEET in 2021 under FLEET Director, Michael Fuhrer, then began as a Research Associate with FLEET CI, Dr Julie Karel where he seeks new materials that possess the distinct topological phases with potential to transport charge without dissipation. He also investigates capping techniques to protect those materials from air, methods to grow the high-quality, ultra-thin materials on a substrate, and to fabricate ultra-thin films into functional transistors.

Prof Alex Hamilton (UNSW) has contributed significantly to the understanding of electronic conduction in two-dimensional and nanoscale transistors, and is a leading expert on the study of holes in semiconductor nanostructures. His work has been recognised through two Australian scientific prizes, an Australian Professorial Fellowship, an ARC Outstanding Researcher Award, a UNSW Scientia Professorship and election as a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
Alex was FLEET's Deputy Director, led the Centre's Research Theme 1 (directing the program on artificially engineered topological materials) and also worked with FLEET Research Theme 2 to realise bilayer exciton transistors at room temperature and within Enabling technology B. Alex was FLEET's node leader at UNSW FLEET Node. FLEET Executive Committee 2017-2024.

Prof Andrew Peele was previously Director of the Australian Synchrotron, having joined the organisation as Head of Science in 2011. He is a Professor of Physics at La Trobe University, where he previously led the X-ray Science group. He was a node leader in the ARC Centre of Excellence for Coherent X-ray Science and is a Principal Investigator in the ARC Centre for Advanced Molecular Imaging. Prior to undertaking his PhD studies at the University of Melbourne, Andrew was a qualified lawyer and practised as a solicitor. He is current President of the Australian Institute of Physics and President, Asia-Oceania Forum for Synchrotron Radiation Research.
