Connor Cleland

Connor is a content marketing strategist with Foundation Inc. Organic marketing has been his primary focus throughout his career. But he also brings his expertise and winning approaches to account management, client relationship building, paid marketing, and more. Working with a team is something Connor enjoys thoroughly and finds collaborating very rewarding. He's also focused on building and retaining the trust of his co-workers with great enthusiasm at Foundation. A keen learner, Connor is always looking for new ways to better himself and the clientele he works with. When Connor was a child he wanted to be a Power Ranger (They were HUGE in the 90s).

Hayati Shah

Hayati is an Account Manager at Foundation Marketing. In 2017, Hayati found herself at the University of Waterloo pursuing her Political Science degree. She also spent plenty of time in the creative world through music-making, songwriting, and singing. Most of her co-op jobs were in marketing-oriented roles that made full use of her academic research, critical thinking, and creative writing abilities. She used that broad set of skills to dive headfirst into the marketing industry and found Foundation Inc. soon after. Hayati brings a pragmatically creative approach to productive problem-solving. When Hayati was a child she wanted to be a pediatrician.

James Scherer

For more than 10 years, James has helped businesses grow through inbound marketing - first in-house at a tech startup in Vancouver and more recently in the agency space, where he led the content strategies for businesses like monday.com, Activecampaign, Smartsheet, Hims and more. When James was a child, he wanted to be... he honestly can't remember!

Jessica Everitt

Jessica is the Senior Director of Content Production at Foundation. Jessica has a diverse background in writing, editing, process improvement, project management, and finance. She loves to combine these skills to optimize our content quality and production processes so that we can exceed client expectations, or ‘bring the guac,' as Foundationites love to say. Jessica has over five years of experience working with clients to produce more than 400 high-quality, long-form pieces of content each month, achieving thousands of first page rankings, and in some cases, growing organic traffic by more than 80% month over month. Jessica is a life-long learner, always looking for new and better ways to do things and for improvement opportunities in her professional and personal life. At present, she's struggling to become fluent in French (currently at the intermediate level) and slowly learning how to play guitar. When Jessica was a child she wanted to be a veterinarian.

Jill Thorpe

Melissa Hughes - COO

Melissa is the Chief Operating Officer at Foundation and brings 13 years of experience in marketing and communication to the team. Having spent half of her career at a creative agency and the other half at a digital agency, Melissa brings a unique pairing of qualitative and quantitative research to provide digital direction for our clients. Her areas of expertise include stakeholder facilitation, qualitative research analysis, business analysis, data analysis, persona development, customer journey mapping, measurement strategy and marketing, and communications strategy. Melissa has provided advice to clients in 20-plus industries (regionally, nationally and internationally) across B2B and B2C. She focuses on helping clients connect their unique selling proposition with the needs of their target audience so that they can compete within their industry. Known for being part lefty and part righty, brain-wise, Melissa is passionate about understanding the reasons why a business is looking for a solution to a specific problem and helping them through the journey of finding the right solution. This has allowed Melissa to truly appreciate all skill sets needed in creating a digital strategy. He sits on the board of directors for Volta Labs, Black Business Initiative and Boys & Girls Club of Preston, as well as the board of trustees for Phoenix Youth Programs. Over the last 10 years, Ross has worked closely with a wide range of brands across the globe ranging from Fortune 500 companies to up-and-coming startups. He's been published in Forbes, Huffington Post, Business Insider, Venture Beat, BET, CBC, Social Media Examiner and more. Ross is known for his work in growth marketing, Slideshare, Instagram and digital marketing as a whole. She loves to win, but equally loves to see others win and play a role in the endgame.
