Dr. Agata DeMarco

Dr. Agata DeMarco grew up in Poland and studied animal science at the Academy of Agriculture, Cracow. She decided to visit the United States and enjoyed it so much that she moved here permanently. Initially, she worked as a commercial scuba diver, jewelry designer, and an artist, before earning her BS and DVM degrees. Over the years, Dr. DeMarco has owned various exotic pets, including ferrets, hamsters, hedgehogs, and frogs, among several others. During her study at Ross University, Dr. DeMarco's passion for working with animals expanded to tropical birds and reptiles. She completed her clinical year at Purdue University in 2001 and joined the Kingston Animal Hospital team in 2006 after having worked in another veterinary practice with small animals and exotic pets. She is a member of MVMA, AVMA, AAHA, and is USDA accredited. At Kingston Animal Hospital, she provides full-service wellness, medical and surgical care, with an emphasis on nutrition, behavior, dermatology, soft tissue surgery, and exotic pet husbandry. If not at work, she can usually be found out on the water or on an adventure with her husband, rescued chihuahua Ivy and Rock the cat.

Dr. Emily Clair

Dr. Emily Clair, our Chief of Staff, grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont in 1994 and then attended the University of Missouri Veterinary School, where she earned a DVM degree in 1998. After veterinary school, she completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Colorado State University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Clair has served as a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in canine and feline practice since 2005. Her special interests include veterinary oncology, ophthalmology, and internal medicine. She lives on the South Shore with her husband Mike and two beautiful and lively children, Anna and Charlie. They share their home with two Labrador retrievers named Moe and Willow. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, running, skiing, baking, and renovating houses.

Dr. Mark Russo

  • Veterinarian
After graduating from Milton Academy (Milton, MA) and Bates College (Lewiston, ME), Dr. Mark Russo attended the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine. He then held an internship and a residency position in veterinary neurology. He is board-certified in veterinary neurology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) and is certified in veterinary acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) and has been at Kingston Animal Hospital for many years. Known to crawl around the floor with his patients and whisper in their ears, Dr. Russo spends much of his time practicing alternative and holistic veterinary medicine. He primarily sees dogs, cats, and horses (for acupuncture only). Dr. Russo's non-veterinary interests include volunteer work for non-profit spiritual retreat organizations, yoga, walking, hiking, bicycling, and sailing. He shares his home life with his wife and standard poodles.

Dr. Michelle Rudin

Dr. Michelle Rudin joined Kingston Animal Hospital in February 2001. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rhode Island and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Rudin completed a one-year intensive, internal medicine and surgery internship at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in Weymouth. Prior to veterinary school, she received a Master's degree in Marine Biology from the Florida Institute of Technology. Currently, Dr. Rudin resides in Plympton and is happy and grateful to be able to balance her two favorite things: raising her family and caring for the pets and clients in her community. "I love being a part of the Kingston Animal Hospital family. The highly skilled staff and caring veterinarians, combined with the Russos' compassionate approach to veterinary care, have made working here such a wonderful and rewarding experience."

Dr. Patricia Hess

Dr. Patricia Hess graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in Animal Science. She then spent four years in Philadelphia and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Hess made a move to Massachusetts, doing an internship and pathology residency at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston. Dr. Hess has been working at the Kingston Animal Hospital for over 20 years, specializing in general dog and cat medicine, surgery, preventive care, and also avian and exotic animal medicine. In addition to dogs and cats, she sees birds, reptiles, amphibians and furry pocket pets. In her spare time, Dr. Hess and her husband enjoy yoga, travel, birding, ballroom dancing, and kayaking. They have Ella Jane, a rescued mixed breed dog from St. Croix, and cats Gracie, Lucy and Puss.

Dr. Sharon Davis

Dr. Sharon Davis grew up locally and graduated from Silver Lake Regional High School. She then attended Bridgewater State College earning a BS degree in Biology with a minor in Biochemistry. Her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree was obtained from Purdue University in Indiana. After graduating from Purdue, Dr. Davis practiced for a year in Indiana before returning home to Kingston. At Kingston Animal Hospital, she sees dogs, cats, and furry pocket pets. Dr. Davis has two wonderful children, Ashley and Ryan. Her home is full of rescued pets including dogs, cats, a chinchilla, as well as chickens. When not working she enjoys, travelling, gardening, yoga, hiking, kayaking, biking, bee keeping, and spending time with her family.
