Aditya is leading the Orbit Startups program by SOSV in the India and MENA region. He has been an active evangelist of entrepreneurship and innovation programs for more than 7 years, in his previous role he supported entrepreneurs as the Ecosystem & Growth initiatives Lead at Chiratae Ventures where he was responsible for the launch of Sonic program, an industry first seed investment initiative and multiple seed programs while managing the overall community of portfolio companies, LPs and ecosystem partners. Over the last year, he started engaging with startups in the MENA region through Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority as an Innovation Consultant for their Anjal Z program.
Earlier, as part of the revenue strategy team at YourStory Media, he led innovation programs, while managing key corporate and investor relations. He worked with more than 20 corporate innovation programs during his tenure.
Over the many years he has advised and supported some of the firms like Shell India, Reliance Jio, Target India, Maersk GSC, NetApp India, Intel India, Google Cloud, Amazon AWS, YES Bank and Axis Bank with their initiatives for startups across Energy, FinTech, Enterprise SaaS, Health and Hardware tech sectors.
Aditya holds a computer science engineering degree and got exposed to technology and coding at an early age. He is a track certified race car driver and is known for his enthusiasm for traveling and networking.
Alan Clayton has served as the SOSV "Roaming Mentor" since 2011, and works directly with teams across all SOSV programs. Building the human capital across the portfolio Alan onboards teams with insights from the Hermann Institute's HBDI assessment tool, hosts monthly Mastermind groups for founders, and provides coaching and training in leadership, management, communication, personal effectiveness and more. As Senior Director and Partner at IndieBio, Alex is responsible for managing all of the day-to-day operations associated with the program, demo day, and the alumni network. He works closely with teams during the program on customer discovery and sales, and with investors, press, and partners to build and sustain the IndieBio ecosystem.
Alex comes from a clinical background, having earned a PharmD from the University of Iowa. He has a wide range of experience, which spans global health regulations, consumer health and behavior change design, building social impact partnerships, running large events, and one-on-one patient care.
Alex joined SOSV in 2018 at the London-based life science program RebelBio and is now the program associate at IndieBio NY. Alex got his entrepreneurial start in 2016 at a boutique business consultancy startup in Philadelphia. In 2017, he joined Edelman London as the account executive at their pharmaceutical division, working alongside GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer, and AstraZeneca.
Alex holds a BS in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from Imperial College London. He completed his Joint Honors in Business Management at Imperial Business School.
Andy is a Principal at HAX where he runs investment operations for companies entering the HAX program. He also works closely with companies after investment, helping them de-risk their technology, develop scalable go-to-market strategies, and secure additional funding.
Andy has over 10 years of technical and operational experience in renewable fuels and traditional oil and gas industries, where he worked as an engineer in nine different countries. He led a team on the deployment of a first-of-its-kind low carbon fuels facility while at LanzaTech which went public in 2023 and contributed to the operations of many more large CAPEX projects. Andy holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon and a BS in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
Anna began her career in investment banking at Deutsche Bank covering technology companies in Asia. She joined the SoftBank in 2006 and was a frontier contributor to the group's globalization initiatives, with a focus on investments. She was part of the founding team of SoftBank China & India Fund, SoftBank Group International, and SoftBank Vision Fund. She has led investments across stages in the consumer internet sectors in United States, China, India and Southeast Asia and she is currently based in Singapore.
Anna received a BA in East Asian Studies and BS in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Ara is an Associate for SOSV working with the HAX team. She manages inbound deal flow for HAX's pre-seed investments and conducts due diligence for seed to series B follow-on investments from SOSV's core and growth funds.
Prior to joining SOSV, she worked for generalist VCs in the US and the UK. She also spent time working in the climate industry performing lab research, working with non-profits, and state government in her home state of Virginia.
Ara holds a BA in Economics from the University of Cambridge (Trinity College), having focused on econometrics.

Aris Yuan joined SOSV as an Operations Specialist at Orbit Startups where she maintains daily operations in the Shanghai office. Before joining Orbit Startups, Aris was a market specialist in a small venture capital company, which was also a start-up company called QTIN. In QTIN, she accumulated extensive investor and start-up development knowledge and experience in the marketing field. After QTIN, she took charge of office administration for 4 years in LVMH P&C and gained valuable experience in operations and facility management.
Aris graduated from Shanghai Finance University with a degree in International Finance in 2015.

Arvind is Venture Advisor at SOSV and a Partner at Mayfield. Arvind joined SOSV in 2013 and led the team that founded IndieBio San Francisco in 2015. His previous experience spans market trading, product design and strategy, and application development. He is a regular speaker at TEDx, TechCrunch Disrupt, Slush, Startup Iceland, and SFMoMA among others. His writing appears in Nature, Rotman, Forbes, and Design Observer. Most recently, Arvind co-authored (along with Po Bronson, General Partner and Managing Director, IndieBio) Decoding the World: A Roadmap for the Questioner.
Arvind received his BS in Genetic Engineering from UCSB and studied Industrial Design at SFSU. He is married with two daughters. He is 2016 world champion in No Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, has climbed El Capitan and other big walls, and was a BASE Jumper and big wave surfer. He currently trains in MMA and BJJ.
A Partner at SOSV, Benjamin works with startups on strategy, marketing, PR, and fundraising. He is considered a global thought leader on deep tech innovation and ecosystems and has represented SOSV at many global events such as TechCrunch Disrupt, Hello Tomorrow!, and Slush. He has also lectured at Berkeley Haas, CentraleSupelec, National University of Singapore, and Zhejiang University where he gave a course on Deep Tech Ventures. He has been featured on Bloomberg TV, in The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Nature, and Wired, and has also contributed to TechCrunch, Forbes, VentureBeat, and IEEE Spectrum.
Prior to SOSV, Benjamin was the founder of a strategy consultancy that researched Asia-based digital innovations supporting clients such as Microsoft, Citi, and Harvard Business School. He also founded Mobile Monday Beijing, a community of thousands of mobile industry professionals in China.

Bethany supports innovation by coordinating all planning and delivery of the program at IndieBio NY. She is also involved in developing communities and a global network for early-stage life sciences entrepreneurship.
Prior to joining SOSV, Bethany spent two years at Success Academy Charter Schools where she developed science curriculum. She was focused on streamlining the program across disciplines and fostering student and teacher engagement in STEM.
Bethany grew up in the Philadelphia area. Prior to pursuing her degree, she was a professional ballet dancer. She graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences. Bethany has always been passionate about how scientific innovation can improve lives. In her free time, she enjoys staying active, cooking, and reading.
Bill is General Partner at SOSV, supporting, mentoring, and investing in companies and startups at all stages of growth. Bill founded SOSV's life sciences practice in Europe, running the first complete life sciences startup development on Earth in Cork, Ireland-SynBioaxlr8r (later IndieBioEU Cork and then RebelBio at Imperial College London), which focused on entrepreneurs building technologies in or around the field of synthetic biology. Bill's investments at SOSV include Perfect Day, Synthace, CyGenica, Hyasynth, AlgiKnit, Carverr, MavenHut, Silicon Republic, Restored Hearing, and Storyful (acquired by NEWS Corporation). Bill is also the lead investment partner on SOSV II (Ireland Fund) and is responsible for sourcing and managing investments for that fund with the Irish government.
Bill brings a wealth of experiences to SOSV, both in the public and private sectors. A co-founder of CoderDojo, a free global network formed to assist young people with learning computer programming, Bill also co-founded XING, a pioneering enterprise social networking platform. Prior to these endeavors, Bill served as COO of Davnet, a telecommunications carrier.
Bill serves as a special diplomatic envoy for St Kitt's and Nevis, with an emphasis on sustainable development and the environment, and founded WeForest, an NGO that has planted over five million trees globally. The author of three books, Bill has been a speaker at global events such as The World Economic Forum, The Globe Forum in Sweden, TED, and TEDx, and at institutions such as The London School of Economics and The House of Commons.
As venture partner at SOSV, Brad's focus is investing in energy and energy efficiency technology. He is also an active participant in the alternative-energy debate, speaking at the Climate Institute forum held as part of the UN-sponsored Climate Change conference in Cancun in 2010. Brad holds an AB and JD from Columbia University. Prior to SOSV, Brad served as Assistant Secretary of State for Resource Management and Chief Financial Officer to the US Department of State. There, he oversaw a $34 billion budget and directed the Department's strategic and performance planning efforts. Brad has also worked as the Chairman of the Audit Committee to the Organization of American States (OAS) and as the senior advisor to the US Ambassador. Prior to his Washington, DC responsibilities, he served two tours in Iraq, first in 2004 as the CFO to the Coalition Provisional Authority and then as the Director of Planning to the US Mission's reconstruction management office in Baghdad. He returned to Iraq in 2005 as a senior advisor to the US Ambassador, setting up and serving as the first director of Strategic Performance and Assessment office for the US Mission. Prior to his government service, Brad spent more than 20 years on Wall Street, first as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and CS First Boston and later working in asset management for Pimco and Bear Stearns Asset Management. He started his career as a corporate associate at the international law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Brad serves as chairman of JumpStart International, an economic development organization he worked with in Iraq, now operating in the Republic of Georgia.

Brandon is a Mechatronics Engineer at HAX Newark, responsible for bringing team's products to life. Experienced with electronic and mechanical design, Brandon is super passionate for all things tech related and always has some project going on whether it's an electric bike, a laptop charger, or drone racing.
As a graduate from the University of Waterloo Mechatronics Engineering Co-op program, he had experiences with his own agricultural IoT start-up. He has also worked for start-ups in HAX Shenzhen, and hi-tech companies in Ottawa. With wide experience in product design for electronics, mechanical assemblies and virtual reality experiences, Brandon is excited to bring technology to new places.

Brian is a Principal at SOSV and Orbit Startups. His responsibilities include portfolio management, fundraising, mentor relations, and communication with Korean organizations and startups.
Before Joining SOSV, Brian worked in a South Korean software company as programmer and interpreter for technology transfer process. He also had an internship in a consulting firm as a research assistant for Turkey G20 summit supply chain examination. He studied in Shanghai Jiao Tong university and majored in eletrical and computer engineering. Brian was also an exchange student in Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, studying computer science and German.
As Finance Director at SOSV, Brian oversees the finance team in Cork and is responsible for day-to-day management and execution of all financial, compliance, and tax affairs for SOSV. This includes both internal corporate accounting for SOSV's global operations and all reporting to SOSV LPs. In addition, he actively mentors hundreds of SOSV companies on financial controls, financial modelling and planning, and reporting.
Brian has extensive international experience in corporate finance, planning, and accounting with companies ranging from Global Banking Institutions (HBOS PLC) to Multinational Construction Conglomerates (Balfour Beatty PLC) to an Irish based SME Automotive Company (AVIS Johnston & Perrott Ltd). He holds a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University College Cork, a Masters in Business from the Cork Institute of Technology, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
Carmelo joined SOSV as part of the Investment Team at the Office of the Managing General Partner, supporting cross-functional operations and relationships.
Carmelo has previously worked as an operations and change management leader in logistics and nonprofit organizations in New Jersey, New York, and Puerto Rico.
Carmelo graduated from Rutgers University with BA in Philosophy and Comparative Literature. He also completed undergraduate work (no degree) at the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez.

As a Director of Mechanical Engineering at HAX Shenzhen, Charles is responsible for supporting HAX teams with mechanical development to ensure their mechanical designs are production-ready and up to industrial standards.
Before joining HAX, Charles worked at Navyug Security as R&D Head for Robotics, where he led a team of engineers on the design and production of robotic vehicles and simulation systems, and at Motherson Techno Tools as a Lead Design Engineer, designing precision CNC tools, fixtures, and development of tooling for new products.
Charles is a mechanical engineer by training and has expertise in CAE design with vast experience in machining, conventional production methods, and industrial standards. He has a firm grasp of multiphysics, dynamic, and nonlinear systems and a functional understanding of electronic and embedded systems.

Prior to joining Orbit Startups, Chen worked as a Business Coordinator for an international trade company that specialized in iron ore and steel products. She also has work experience in the consulting industry, Chinese government, and nonprofit organizations.

Ching-Ping Lin is the Chief Operating Officer of SOSV's Orbit Startups program.
Prior to SOSV, Ching-Ping built the first operations and HR team at Dragon Aviation Leasing, a joint venture between China Aviation Supplies and Aercap, and held roles at Amazon.com, McKesson, successfully exited startups Planetall.com and HPR Inc., and early free email startup Freemark Communications. A health informaticist and qualitative researcher by training, she has built digital health systems in rural communities in Uganda, China, and the United States serving the health needs of under-resourced populations.
Born and raised in the US, Ching-Ping has lived abroad for 8 years in Beijing, Taipei, and Shanghai. She has a BA in computer science and classics from Bowdoin College, a Ph.D. in biomedical informatics from the University of Washington School of Medicine, and was a post-doctoral fellow at Peking University in global health. Ching-Ping is an International Coaching Federation Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with a passion for supporting female entrepreneurs and academics.
Chris supports the daily functions of the SOSV Managing General Partner. He started his career as an educator, where he inspired students and transformed music programs in both the public and private sectors. His extensive experience as both a musician and educator has allowed him to teach and perform all around the world. He joined SOSV having served as a Human Resource specialist in a large Philadelphia-suburb school district.
Chris graduated from West Chester University with a BS in Music Education and Performance. He is currently highly involved in promoting celtic music throughout the tri-state area, where he currently resides.

Claire is an Investment Operations Specialist for the Orbit Startups program at SOSV. She has a passion for entrepreneurship and innovation and business modelling. She built her own startup when she was still a student and received much of her training in Silicon Valley. Previously, Claire worked with a hedge fund as a trading associate, conducting the analysis and supporting the trades.
She holds a bachelor degree in quantitative finance from National Tsing Hua University and a master's degree from Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.

Cyril is a General Partner at SOSV and the founder and co-Managing Director of HAX. He is a board member and advisor to a few startups, including Formlabs, Angel List, Collaborate (ACQ: CISCO), Hackster (ACQ: AVNET), and Adoreme. He is an experienced investor in deep tech (250+) and has invested globally.
Cyril is a frequent speaker at global events (TechCrunch Disrupt, Collision, Pioneers, MIT Forum, etc.) and universities (Stanford, UC Berkeley, etc.), has written dozens of articles and publishes regularly on topics such as technology, robotics, health, and crowdfunding. SOSV general partner Cyril Ebersweiler launched HAX in Shenzhen in 2012 as a startup development program for pre-seed hard tech companies. HAX focuses on industrial automation, climate tech, health tech, and manufacturing. HAX provides $250,000 in pre-seed funding to companies joining the program.
Daniel a financial accountant in the Cork, Ireland, office of SOSV. Prior to joining SOSV, Daniel gained experience across a variety of finance roles, primarily focused on the financial services industry. He spent four years at J.P. Morgan in London before working in ASB's treasury department in New Zealand.
Daniel is a CIMA management accountant and also holds a certificate in Treasury from the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT). In his spare time, he likes to run and swim-when it's not too cold!

Daphne has joined as a HR & Operations Manager at Orbit Startups. Raised in South Africa before moving to China, Daphne studied in the USA and is now living in Taiwan.
Before joining SOSV, Daphne worked as an executive assistant to the CEO of a locally listed financial group. Here she developed excellent time management and organizational skills.
Before this, she worked at a fortune 500 company for over 6 years as a real estate consultant. She has assisted some major projects with many multinational firms in various industries including Amazon, TikTok, BNP Paribas, WPP group and many more.
Daphne considers herself to be optimistic, loves to laugh, is always grateful and will always try to bring joy to people around her. A random fact is that her favorite flowers are Sunflowers.
Donnacha is an End User Platform Analyst based on Cork Ireland supporting SOSV staff, partners and portfolio companies with SOSV's IT processes and systems
Previously, Donnacha was an Analyst with dlab, an early stage Blockchain VC where he was focused on sourcing startups and operations. He has also held roles as a Operations Analyst and Full Stack Web Developer.
Donnacha holds a Bachelors in Business Information Systems (BIS) from University College Cork. Beyond his professional pursuits, Donnacha's heart beats for technology's potential to catalyze positive change in society. In his free time, you'll find him immersed in the world of literature as an avid reader.

Duncan is a General Partner at SOSV, and the Global Managing Director of HAX, the world's first and largest VC-backed program for hard tech. He has invested in over 100 hard tech companies and serves on multiple boards in the climate, industrial and healthcare sectors.
Duncan has an extensive entrepreneurial background and deep experience fundraising and growing businesses across the globe. He has taken numerous technologies to market in various industries. Before joining SOSV, he led design and engineering strategy projects for Fortune 500 companies at the global innovation firm IDEO.
Duncan obtained his Master's from the Royal College of Art & Imperial College. His design and engineering work has won multiple awards and is included in the permanent collection at The Museum of Modern Art. He has a deep passion for new technologies and engineering breakthroughs that can benefit our planet.

Elva Ren is an Analyst at SOSV. At the beginning of her professional career, Elva worked at a private equity firm in Shanghai. She focused on the Semiconductor and Intelligent Manufacturing sector. Prior to her graduation, she also had internships at Fosun International and SWS research.
She holds a MSc degree from Columbia University in the City of New York and a BSBA degree from Boston University. Among all the city she has been lived and visited, Boston has always been one of her favorites.

He is located in Shanghai, where he began his career as a consultant with a master's degree in electrical engineering serving customers in different industries. After six years of consulting, he furthered his studies in business and received an MBA offer from Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
After graduation, he joined GE's Experienced Commercial Leadership Program (ECLP) sponsored by Jeff Immelt. Most recently, he worked for Honeywell to extend the business in APAC by providing innovative solutions such as IoT, AI-based services, IMU, etc.

Francesca is a seasoned business development professional with solid track record in achieving company target. Demonstrate extensive networking and prospecting skills with C-suite personnel. Effectively build and maintain high-value relationship with key accounts.
She was the Business Development manager for Foxconn Group for 5+ years with the experience of hardware quotation management, startup investment due diligence, new business development for hardware IoT manufacturing business. Prior to Foxconn, she was the Quotation Manager for NXP and Project Manager for a professional conference organizer.
She was based in the Bay Area for 4+ years being fully emersed in the startup ecosystem, offering manufacturing, design engineering support and investment partnership for hardware startups within the smart home, smart IoT industry. As the outpost for the team, she successfully led and performed matchmaking and bridge the gap between startups and corporates. She's passionate about supporting startups and enjoys being inspired by their entrepreneurship and wants to take part in the next innovation.
She grew up in Taipei, Taiwan and graduated from National Taipei University with a bachelor's degree in Recreational Sport Management and a double major in Business Administration. In her free time, she enjoys dancing and being outdoors.
Hana is joining SOSV from Tokyo and will be working with our Investor Relations team, and will also be working with the HAX team helping out with Business Development.
Prior to SOSV, she worked as a Business Consultant at Deloitte Monitor for over three years. She served clients across the automative and consumer business industry with various solutions including market entry analysis, growth strategy, supply chain network planning.
Outside of work, Hana enjoys snowboarding and surfing. She currently speaks four languages currently working her fifth language; her French.
Hugh Bowen is an Associate working with SOSV's portfolio in Europe. He works with startups across industries including some of the former RebelBio companies in the US and all IndieBio EU companies. Hugh provides support for follow-on investment and continuous development of SOSV's global ecosystem of founders, partners, and investors. In addition to working with existing programme investments, Hugh is researching and sourcing potential opportunities in the emerging Quantum Software vertical. Hugh also participates in relevant IC meetings.
Prior to joining SOSV, Hugh worked as a data consultant for Kubrick Group, Europe's fastest growing private company. As a Data Product Consultant, Hugh worked with clients connecting technical and business development teams to establish effective data centric projects.
Hugh has a mixture of technical and financial experience. He holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of St Andrews.
Ian is the Lead Software Developer at SOSV, and as such is in charge of designing and developing tools to direct the tremendous flow of information that is generated inside this complex organization. Before joining SOSV, Ian was the VP of Engineering at FracTEL, where he worked on guiding advanced VOIP products from concept to release, along with creating back-office solutions to manage the intricate and highly regulated operations of a telecom provider.
In addition to his Masters in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology, Ian has received a broad education from foolhardy enterprises like starting an internet-enabled music magazine in 1991 and joining a roving band of busking miscreants to sing songs about Star Wars and army ants.
