Cecile Sogge - Chairman, President

Cecile has enjoyed a varied 38+ year career as a university professor, a consulting firm owner and a business operations consultant. She looks for ways to integrate process and people in any setting. Her clients included major corporations, privately owned businesses, and non-profits. She has served as a volunteer for various youth sports, education and church organizations. Cecile holds a B.A., an M.A., and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. No one should wonder where their next meal is coming from or if it will come. Cecile is committed to helping the THAFS continue to live its mission, in a viable and compassionate manner, to serve all who struggle with food insecurity.

Debra McDonald

Deb lives in rural Two Harbors area with her husband, John. With a Civil Engineering degree from Iowa State University, she has spent the majority of her professional career working in the environmental and solid waste industry, solving waste issue problems. She can't stand the thought of food going to waste and is happy to serve on the THAFS Board to reduce hunger and improve the health of people in need.

Jennifer Hansen - Treasurer

Jennifer rejoined the THAFS board in 2023. Jennifer is employed by Park State Bank and enjoys working in Two Harbors. She has a B.A. in Accounting from the University of Minnesota and likes numbers, so being part of the Food Shelf as the treasurer fits right in with her interests. Jennifer and her husband enjoy outdoor activities with their two teenage sons and two dogs.

Joan Rheineck

Joan retired from AT&T with 37 years of service, and then worked on the 2010 Census for 2 years. Joan and her husband fell in love with the North Shore on a trip to the area, built a vacation home in 2015 and finally moved to Two Harbors full-time in April, 2017. She is so passionate about ending hunger that she began volunteering at the Food Shelf before becoming a full-time resident. She has served on the Board since January of 2018, most recently as Board Chair from 2019 to March of 2021.

Kelsey Dooley

Kelsey moved to the Duluth area in 2016 after completing her master's degree in nonprofit management from Hamline University. As a community member, she has worked in the nonprofit and public sector. Most recently she worked with the Treatment Courts as part of the MN Judicial Branch working with justice involved veterans, and before that worked with a nonprofit that serves homeless veterans and veterans facing housing and employment barriers. Kelsey's greatest passion is addressing issues of food insecurity and helping people get access to healthy food options. She has been active with Second Harvest North Lakes Food Bank as well as the Domiano Center's food rescue program. Kelsey is eager to see that every area resident facing food insecurity has access to healthy food.

Mary Dailey

Mary brings 30+ years of Human Resources experience to the Board. Her experience includes working in a variety of public, private, non-profit and co-op organizations including Great River Energy leading the learning, compensation, retirement and HRIS team. She has also volunteered for a variety of organizations and most recently concluded 9 years on the Helping Paws board. Mary realized her dream of living on the North Shore in 2018. She has embraced the beauty of the area by hiking, kayaking, and photography.

Tanner Paulseth

Job Titles:

Tanner Paulseth is a North Shore native and Graduated from William Kelly High School in Silver Bay. He traveled the globe while serving his country in the US Army for 7 years. He and his family are now settled just outside Two Harbors. Tanner became involved with the food shelf through his employer. North Shore Federal Credit Union has an initiative called the "Hunger Hero" program. When he saw how real the hunger problem was in Lake County he decided to get more involved and join our board of directors.
