During the past seven years, the IDeA National Resource for Quantitative Proteomics has grown from a regional operation to a fully established National Resource serving a substantial userbase of biomedical researchers across all fifty states plus Puerto Rico. Directed by Alan Tackett, PhD, the IDeA National Resource for Quantitative Proteomics was launched at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2017 using supplemental funding from the NIGMS Institutional Development Award (IDeA) Program, a program that supports research in 23 states and Puerto Rico (i.e., IDeA Network) that have historically received lower levels of NIH funding. The creation of the IDeA National Resource for Quantitative Proteomics provided a framework for accessing cutting-edge proteomics platforms and skilled staff for the nation-wide IDeA Network.
