Aaron Zauner

New to the Milwaukee area, Aaron Zauner recently completed his undergraduate music studies at Luther College, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While at Luther College, he performed as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra musician. His primary teachers include Scott Cook, Peter Thomas, & Eric Kutz and he has had additional study with eminent cellists such as Timothy Eddy, Paul Katz, & Astrid Schween. Currently, Aaron is a member of the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra cello section, and he gives regular recitals throughout the greater Milwaukee metropolitan area. He's eager to share his knowledge and experience through Cello lessons with students of all ages. Aaron is currently offering cello lessons in Milwaukee and is accepting new students.

Abigail Kelly

Abigail Kelly is a vibrant artist that resides in Madison, Wisconsin. She pursues excellence in all areas of her career as an orchestral and chamber musician, collaborative artist, and instructor. Her teaching style heavily follows the Suzuki method, but is dedicated to catering to the learning style of each individual child, adapting to meet their needs as necessary. With a dedication and a devotion to helping each child find their musical voice, and foster a lifelong love for music, she teaches students ranging from beginners to high school students in Madison, and the surrounding areas. Abigail received her Bachelor of Music degree in Violin Performance, with Honors, from Carroll University. She served as concert master, and performed as a soloist with the orchestra, playing the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor, as the winner of the 2019 concerto/aria competition. Throughout her studies at Carroll, and post graduation, Abigail continues to work as a freelance musician for weddings and events, she's a pit musician for a number of local theater companies, and an improvisatory musician in contemporary worship music bands.

Allen Russell

Allen Russell is a violinist, composer and instructor based in Milwaukee, WI. He began his musical studies on the violin at age 5, and studied the Suzuki method at the String Academy of Wisconsin with Mimi Zweig and David Becker before later going on to study with Jerry Franke (Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra) and Dr. Bernard Zinck ( Paris Conservatory, Julliard). As a performer, Allen has appeared with his Gypsy Swing quartet Swing Chevron at regional festivals such as Summerfest and the Midwest Gypsy Swingfest, as well as historic venues such as the Green Mill in Chicago. With the string quartet the Tontine Ensemble, Allen has participated in premiering the new works of composers and has had his own compositions performed in collaboration with Milwaukee Danceworks, Hyperlocal, and UWM Dance. Allen is a registered Suzuki instructor and holds a Master of Fine Arts in String Pedagogy from the UW Milwaukee. He's currently offering violin lessons in the Milwaukee area. Brandon King

Brandon is an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher who likes succeeding with students and sharing his passion of music. In 2014, he graduated from the University of Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Saxophone Performance. His professional instruction experience dates back 11 years. Brandon tries to inspire his students in the hopes of them finding a passion for music. Creating a consistent practice schedule is one of the ideas that he likes to emphasize for younger students, as it will be more likely to benefit student development, and help them grow a passion for the instrument. He has also discovered that a mixture of classical and jazz music can go a long way in helping students like their instrument, and influence them to practice and continue to learn. Brandon believes that it is important that every student develops at his or her personal pace. He supports this by creating sensible goals for his students at every lesson. Recognizing accomplishments increases a students desire to improve, and makes students excited to learn more. By understanding what motivates a student, he can actively modify his teaching to their wants and needs to make his lessons as enjoyable as possible! His students are encouraged to participate in contests and recitals, so that they can feel good about their achievements and remain interested in learning more. Chris Mell

As a percussion and drum set instructor, Chris has taught students ranging in age from 3 to 70 in a large variety of percussion and drum set styles. For the past 11 years he has been the Jazz Studies Director and Jazz Studies Drum Instructor for the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra. He currently teaches Bucket Drumming and West African Drumming classes for the Boys and Girls Clubs and for many years taught drum line for the Cudahy Middle/High School as well as Franklin High Chris Mell graduated from UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor's in Music with a Jazz Emphasis. Over his career he has studied and toured with John Becker, Steve Wiest, Ed Shaughnessy, Brad Leahi, Dave Pietro, Micheal Spiro, Billy Cobham, the Maynard Ferguson Big Band, and Joan Rivers, among many more. Chris also was a founding member of the UW Whitewater Jazz Symposium that did two tours of Europe playing the North Sea Jazz Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival and several club dates in Germany, London and Paris. The Jazz Symposium was so successful that it became part of the UWW Jazz curriculum. Chris Mell currently lives in Milwaukee playing with the groups Platinum, Velocity, LockJaw and running the band Livin the Dream. He works as a freelance artist for ACA Entertainment and Music and North Coast Management. He also plays with various other groups throughout the greater Milwaukee area and Wisconsin.

David Bahrke

David Bahrke is Director of Music and Organist of Saint Peter's Episcopal Church in West Allis, Wisconsin. David serves as Registrar of the American Guild of Organists-Milwaukee Chapter and is a freelance organist, choral director, vocal coach, and pianist. David has been a music director in Episcopal, Lutheran, Roman Catholic parishes, and other Orthodox and Protestant denominations. He directed choral, handbell, and various instrumental ensembles of children, young adults, and adult musicians. David has taught both class and individual piano and pipe organ lessons. As a Traveling Music Teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools, he specialized in teaching piano students at academic risk and learning differences. He has also taught adult-age students, including senior citizens. His teaching methods include the Alfred Piano Series, Faber Piano Adventures, Royal School of Church Music: "Voice for Life Curriculum," digital and video technology, and other music enrichment media materials. Instructional methods and materials tailored to students' age, grade level, and learning needs are implemented in lessons. David has been a performing organist for the John Weissrock Gesu Church Organ Concert Series. He has served as a Dean and a Sub Dean of the American Guild of Organists-Milwaukee Chapter and as a member of the Development and Finance Committee of the AGO National Council. For seventeen years, he was Chorus Manager and Artist Liaison for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. David joined the Maestro Makers faculty in Fall 2019 and is currently accepting new piano and voice students.

Elizabeth Biermann

Elizabeth Biermann is a 2009 graduate of Carroll College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music performance, specializing in piano. A Wisconsin native, she has always had a special relationship with music, whether it be singing in the choir as a small child or taking piano lessons. Her passion for music took off when she began a serious study of music and the piano when she switched piano teachers in 7th grade to Moraine Area private teacher Pat Hauser. During her time at Carroll, Elizabeth studied with Shanti Daya and began accompanying the college's women's ensemble under the direction of Kari Doepke which she continued to do for 7 years. She took a few years off and began working for Carroll again in the Fall of 2016 again as an on-staff accompanist for both the vocal and instrumental department. She has also worked for Hartford Union High School in the past for 6 years as an accompanist for the vocal department and currently resides as the choral accompanist for Brookfield East High School under the direction of Kari Doepke as well as a collaborative pianist and singer with the Milwaukee area group Opera on Tap. She currently works full time as the Director of Music and Liturgy at St. Charles Borromeo in Milwaukee since the fall of 2014 where she conducts the adult choir, adult handbells, children's choirs, and children's handbells as well as managing all aspects of liturgy within the parish. She has her own private piano studio in Milwaukee teaching all ages and is excited to be joining the maestro makers team to introduce new students to the wonderful world of piano. She teaches the Jane Tan piano method which she studied with a local teacher for a year after completing her Bachelor's degree. The Jane Tan piano method focuses on immersing students in all facets of being a successful player from the very beginning of study. Elly Bird

Elly Bird is a guitarist, producer and audio engineer based in the Milwaukee area. She also teaches bass, mandolin and ukulele. Influenced by musicians like Mateus Asato, Tomo Fujita, Nile Rogers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Santana, she uses her talent to enhance the sound of creative artists ranging from funk classics, to neo soul and pop hits. Every student has the potential for greatness. She aims to help students find their own sound, and confidence, by teaching proper technique and encouraging practice. Fred Krubel

Fred has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Columbia College in Chicago. He studied jazz performance for guitar. Fred also has over 10 years of teaching experience. He teaches students the cool

Gabriel Hammer

Gabriel Hammer is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who has been making music for over 25 years and teaching privately since 2005. Gabriel plays and teaches drums, piano, guitar, and bass guitar as well as instruction in music theory and composition. He graduated with a BA in Jazz Studies & Percussion Performance from Columbia College of Chicago in 2007. Teachers of note include drum set with Chicago's Tom Hipskind and New Orleans legend Johnny V, congas with virtuosos Rubin Alverez and Giovanni Hildalgo, vibes with studio vibraphonist Rick Embach, and organ/jazz piano with international organ player Tony Monaco. Gabriel has played in a variety of different projects, covering many styles, including Rock, Jazz, Funk, Latin, Hip Hop, Classical, Orchestral, Reggae, and Country. He has a strong understanding on the specifics of many styles, which plays a big part in his lessons. Students are able to study the style that they most enjoy and have the option of trying a different instrument if they choose. Gabriel also regularly plays along and accompanies students on multiple instruments giving them the "full band effect" in lessons. Gabriel has recorded with and is currently involved in a number of music projects on piano, organ, and drums including: Smoke N' Mirrors, Cabaret Milwaukee, O'Brien Reggae Band, Jazz Gallery Jazz Jam host, Bad Bread, Eponymous, The Moonlighters Orchestra, The Hammer 4tet, Sweet Pick, About A Girl, Artist X, David Radford of American Idol, and more. Gabriel was featured in 2016 as a guest solo Jazz Pianist with the University School of Milwaukee high school band. He was also awarded Best Film Score of the 2011 Milwaukee 24 Hour Film Fest for his original composition/collaboration "Chess Life." Gabriel is currently offering drums, guitar, and piano lessons in Milwaukee and is accepting new students.

Jennifer Wagner

Jennifer Wagner graduated from Manchester University with a BA in vocal performance, and biology-chemistry. In addition to voice, Jennifer teaches flute. She is currently pursuing her master of music in vocal performance at UNC. Recent roles include Damon from Handel's Acis, and Galatea Lauretta from Puccini's ‘Gianni Schicchi' and the cover for Faustine in the collegiate premier of Stewart Copeland's ‘The Invention of Morel'. She was a recent finalist in the West Central Regional NATS competition. During her undergraduate program she was the student flutist for the Manchester Symphony Orchestra, as well as the drum major and flute section leader for the university bands. As a teacher she strives to find a comfortable identity for all students, and encourage them to develop a life-long love of music. Jennifer is currently accepting voice or flute students in the Greeley area.

Justin Bant

Justin Bant comes from a family of musicians with both his grandmother and mother being established music teachers in his hometown of Hazlehurst, Wisconsin. He began studying piano at the age of 5 and quickly found a passion for music eventually branching out to playing saxophone singing and composing. He went on to attend the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where he received a degree in music composition. While in school he took part in many music groups, including the Wind Ensemble and the Master's Choir. He was also an event manager of Madison's Jazz at 5 concert series. Several of Justin's compositions have been featured in concerts throughout his college education. After graduating in 2021, Justin moved to Milwaukee in 2022. Justin has been teaching piano to all ages from children to adults, since 2014. He also teaches Saxophone and Composition. Though his studies focused on Classical Music, he believes in a diverse music education that touches on a variety of styles from classical and jazz to rock, R&B and pop music. He believes that a broader exposure to music allows for room to explore and grow as a developing musician. Justin offers lessons in Piano, Saxophone, and Composition in the Milwaukee area. Luis M. Solis-Trinidad is a Milwaukee based performer, instructor, and above all student of music. He offers bilingual Saxophone, beginning Flute, and composition and improvisation lessons in the Milwaukee area. He is currently developing diverse musical capabilities, and is studying Saxophone under his mentors Jesse Montijo and Aaron Gardner, and Guitar under Steve Peplin. His upcoming 2018 concert engagements include a debut with the Oakwood Chamber Players. Matt Bergey

Matthew Bergey has been a successful soloist, chamber music player, church musician, and piano teacher for the last 15 years in the Milwaukee area. He graduated with a BS in Psychology from UW-Madison, and received a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance from one of the country's premiere music conservatories, the Manhattan School of Music. Matthew recently performed the entire Beethoven cycle for piano and cello with The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra's Peter Thomas, one of the city's finest cellists. Other collaborations with singers from the Metropolitan Opera, the Irish tenors, and other local master musicians have contributed to Matthew's unique vision on teaching, through the eyes of a performer. Matthew Bergey teaches all ages and abilities, from absolute beginners to seasoned players with many years of piano playing. Many students of Matthew have gone on to be quite accomplished in their own right, receiving prizes in competitions to scholarships at universities.

Melissa Simes

Melissa Simes started piano lessons at age 9 with Sandy Ryan at Music Dynamics of Sussex. While with Sandy, she participated in music events including Clavinova Festival, WMTA competitions, group ensembles and recitals. She continued lessons into college at Carroll University where she studied under Shanti Daya. She then attended Milwaukee Area Technical College to officially take on a music degree. In 2017, she graduated with honors with an Associate's Degree in Music Occupations. Melissa has been teaching piano lessons since 2016. Nathan Pflughoeft

Nathan Pflughoeft is a musician and instructor currently offering guitar lessons in the Milwaukee area. Nathan first picked up the guitar at the age of 12, with an initial interest in rock music. Expanding his horizons, he soon became interested in jazz, which led to his studying at UW-Milwaukee and earning a BA in Jazz Performance. Before graduating from UWM, he had already begun touring the country with a local funk group. After graduation, he began work as a freelance musician, performing with a broad array of local artists, across a variety of genres, including jazz, rock, pop, R&B, hip hop, afro beat, and gospel. Today, he continues his work as a freelance musician in addition to teaching. When teaching, his philosophy is to first identify the student's musical goals so that the material being covered is always relevant and interesting to the student, while at the same time introducing theoretical concepts that will create a strong basis for creativity. He regularly works with both local and national clients. Neil is active in the local design and business communities and has taught graphic design at MIAD. In addition to his passion for all things visual, Neil has been playing drums since the age of 13. Before starting Becker Design, he toured across the US and Europe with the performing group, Up with People. Neil continues to play, and is pleased to fuse his creative experience with his passion for music, helping to make musicianship accessible to others.

Paul Gronquist

Paul holds a Bachelors of Music from UW-Stevens Point and a Master's degree in Performance from the internationally acclaimed University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music, where he studied with Lee Fiser and received chamber music coaching from the Tokyo and LaSalle String Quartets. His orchestral work includes the San Antonio Symphony, Austin Symphony, Wisconsin Philharmonic, La Crosse Symphony, Dayton Philharmonic, Columbus Symphony, and the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed with many other prolific organizations. During his residency in Austin, TX, Paul maintained a studio of over 30 students and collaborated with artists such as Doc Severinsen, Andrea Bocelli, Rod Stewart, The Beach Boys, and P. Diddy. Raquel Bruening Iacob

She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (2014) and has performed in Carnegie Hall and Symphony Center in Chicago with their Symphonic Wind Ensemble. Dr. Iacob was the winner of the 2011 UW-W Concerto Competition She completed her Master of Music degree and post-baccalaureate certificate in music theory from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2017) and was a teaching assistant in the clarinet studio and music theory departments. She received her Doctor of Music Arts degree from Texas Tech University (2020) and was also a teaching assistant in the clarinet studio during her time there. Dr. Iacob won first prize at the 2014 Lakeshore Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition (WI), has been a part of multiple recording projects in pieces by John Mackey (NC) James Stephenson (TX), and Michael Fine (TX), and has performed with numerous chamber ensembles. She has performed with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra (TX), Southwest Symphony (NM), Piedmont Wind Symphony (NC), Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra (WI), at the Midwest Mozart Festival (IL), and was selected to perform at the International Clarinet Association Clarinetfest 2020 (NV). She is an elementary general music teacher at Jerstad-Agerholm School and resides in Racine, WI with her husband. Raquel is currently offering online clarinet lessons and is accepting new students.

Sahada Buckley is a professional violinist interdisciplinary artist and strings teacher living in Madison Wisconsin. As a teacher she has taught all ages from beginners to advanced students. With her diverse background in many different styles of music Sahada enjoys incorporating many different genres into a classical teaching style. In addition to private instruction Sahada teaches seminars on string fundamentals as a teaching assistant at UW-Madison. Sahada earned bachelor degrees from the University of Georgia in violin performance and music theory. Currently she is earning her masters degree in violin performance studying with David Perry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where she is a member of the graduate string quartet the Marvin Rabin String Quartet. She is an active performer with musicians within the free improvisation community. In April of 2022 she performed with her experimental duo Girls With Hands at the New York City Electroacoustic Improvisation Summit. Stephanie Lippert

Stephanie Lippert is a Milwaukee pianist, bass trombonist, and singer-songwriter. She has developed her career as a musician in Milwaukee since early 2010, following her collaborative piano studies at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She works closely with the Latino Arts String Program, performs as a pianist for multiple churches, accompanies St. Mathew's children's choir, and serves as a board member of the Civic Music Association. In addition, she helps run sound and utilizes her DJ skills at Milwaukee's own Jazz Estate. Furthermore, she is continuously collaborating with musicians in the Milwaukee music community. Stephanie performs in three separate bands: the Brew City Big Band, Milwaukee Jazz Orchestra, and a seven-piece, all-woman band, Ruth B8r Ginsburg. Stephanie is currently offering piano lessons in Milwaukee and is accepting new students.

Taylor Skiff

Cellist Taylor Skiff received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2013 and his Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School in 2015. Taylor's past cello teachers include Timothy Eddy, Parry Karp, and Uri Vardi. He has also received instruction from cellists Eric Bartlett, Alban Gerhardt, Ralph Kirshbaum, Ronald Leonard, Amit Peled, and Peter Wiley. Taylor has been a featured soloist with multiple orchestras, including the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, performing Ludwig van Beethoven's Triple Concerto, Ernest Bloch's Schelomo, Antonín Dvořák's Cello Concerto, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Variations on a Rococo Theme. In addition to his solo playing, Taylor is an avid orchestral musician, and has performed several times at both Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall. His most recent orchestral appointments include being the assistant principal cellist of the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra (2010-2011), co-principal and section cellist of The Juilliard Orchestra (2013-2015), and co-principal cellist of The Orchestra Now (2015-2016). During this time, Taylor worked with conductors James Bagwell, Leon Botstein, John DeMain, JoAnn Falletta, Alan Gilbert, Bernard Haitink, Vladimir Jurowski, Fabio Luisi, and Gerard Schwarz. Additionally, Taylor is the former cellist of the University of Wisconsin's Perlman Piano Trio (2010-2013) and has been teaching the cello privately for over a decade.
