Alex Booth

Alex joined the team as an IRATA Instructor in January 2021 She has been involved with Rope Access work since 2009, then progressing into the IRATA Instructor role in 2016, with this she brings vast amounts of knowledge and experience to OPS-Training and gained these skills working in UK and abroad

Gary Paterson

Gary Joined the team in November 2020 in the role as Training Centre Manager. After completing 22 years in the Army and finishing as Company Sergeant Major within the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers. Gary started off training within the renewables in 2014 as a Technical Training Instructor and Paint Instructor. He quickly progressed through the ranks to Senior Technical Instructor, Site Supervisor and eventually Regional Manager South where he project managed the set up and GWO accreditation of two other training centres down the east coast. Since arriving at OPS Training, he has set up and gained Global Wind Organisation accreditation for Basic Technical Training and assisted with the opening of a new training facility in Knowsley. He has also gained the approval from ELCAS (Enhanced Learning Credit Scheme) to recognise OPS-Training an an approved ELCAS training provider

John Donaldson

John Joined the team in January 2022 as a Basic Safety Training & Slinger Signaller Instructor. He worked within Construction at the early stages of his working life, operating heavy plant and assisting in all aspects of Lifting Operations. John transitioned into Instructing in 2013. Over the last 9 years of his career, he has travelled throughout the UK & Ireland delivering courses to various industries. His confidence and skills have grown during his career and has allowed him to transfer comfortably into the Wind Industry. In his spare time, John is an active Photographer & Videographer which has allowed him to assist the office & sales department with updated digital imagery of our courses.

John McCarthy

John joined OPS Training as the IRATA Manager in 2016 where his technical knowledge helps him provide quality instruction on his courses. John has worked on much of the UK and Europes structures such as on and offshore assets, football stadiums, high rise towers and nuclear stations to name but a few. Through his working experience he is able to bring a wide range of skills, add to this his passion and drive and it gives the highest quality of training to those undertaking his courses which is now recognised within the North West by his excellent training reputation. In his spare time John is involved with his local IAM Group (Institute of Advanced Motorists) where he guides candidates in preparation for thier advanced motorcycle exams

Kirk Hunter

Kirk joined OPS in January 2021 as an Basic Safety Training instructor. Prior to that he had instructed at another training provider for 7 years covering Wind, Oil and Gas and Maritime standards. Before that Kirk completed 25 years in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, this has helped Kirk as he is one of our technical training instructors on the Basic Technical Training at our Knowsley facility Kirk has qualifications in Health and Safety and is often involved in risk assessments throughout the company. He brings a wealth of knowledge for future training that we will be undertaking

Paul Wyatt

Paul joined OPS in March 2021 to Instruct the GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training Course), and the GWO BST (Basic Safety Training Courses) He has an Engineering background, after recently moving across from Aircraft production/Maintenance and inspection. This field allowed him to work in various locations around the world. Previous to this, Paul spent 14 years in the Armed Forces, in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, as a mechanic on a wide variety of military equipment

Phil Keating

An experienced HSE offshore medic, and advanced diver medic, with over 25 years experience in Pre-Hospital care in remote and austere environments. A SMACC contributor and regular instructor on PHTLS, ATACC, rope rescue, GWO and sea survival courses. Phil also teaches Police Firearms teams and Firefighters on trauma courses across the country and is also an NWAS Enhanced First Responder.
