I graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 1978 with a degree in Botanical Science. On a whim I decided to teach myself carpentry. I purchased a set of hand tools with my twenty-first birthday money and discovered the fine art (and immense enjoyment) of cabinetmaking. I began with dove-tailed boxes, small cabinets and trays. I have lived and worked across Ireland, and also America - the Midwest and East Coast. I am familiar with a wide variety of woods, landscapes and environmental concerns... Depending on how the wood is sourced I may use local joineries to obtain a workable format but once the wood enters my workshop I only use hand tools to build. The pleasure of woodworking is the process of preparing and working the wood by hand. The unique figurations of the wood is the center piece for many of the designs. The extra oversight through this handmade practice allows for the highest attention to detail and effective use of the organic charachters... Fine furniture hand crafted in..
