Ada Chan - SVP

Ada joined Cain International in 2022. She is a senior vice president in the firm's Real Estate Equity team and supports the firm's capital markets efforts, including delivery of One Beverly Hills, a 17.5-acre mixed-use urban development in the heart of Beverly Hills. Before joining Cain International, Ada worked for Bank of America's Commercial Real Estate Banking group (‘BofA') as a senior vice president, where she transacted and closed more than $3 billion in gross loan commitments. Prior to BofA, Ada held roles in OneWest Bank, iStar and Weintraub Real Estate Group. She started her career in engineering, working for Hathaway Dinwiddie and Swinerton Builders. Ada is a registered professional civil engineer in California and an active member of Urban Land Institute (ULI) at the Americas and District Council levels, currently leading as the NEXT Americas co-chair, Urban Development Mixed Use Council (Silver) vice chair, ULI-Los Angeles advisory board member, and ULI-Los Angeles Capital Markets Initiative Council co-chair. Ada is also an executive committee member of the City of Hope Los Angeles Real Estate Council. She holds a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering building science, a Master's in civil-structural engineering, and an MBA, all from the University of Southern California (USC).

Adam Holbrook

Adam joined Cain International in 2022 as an accounts assistant in the firm's London office. His key responsibilities include supporting the production of monthly and quarterly management accounts and detailed reporting packages across the business. During his time at university, Adam completed a year's financial services work experience, in which he worked for RBS Accountants Limited as an accounts assistant.

Adam joined Cain International in 2014 and plays an integral role in managing the company's UK private equity portfolio, which includes Swingers Crazy Golf, Prezzo, Maslow's, The AllBright and JiJi. Prior to joining Cain International, Adam spent five years working on real estate and leveraged finance at the Royal Bank of Scotland, structuring and executing transactions. Adam is a Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charter holder and graduated from Manchester Business School with a first-class Bachelor of Science (Honours) in management, specialising in international business economics.

Alan Lee

Alan joined Cain's development team in 2024 and is responsible for supporting the delivery of the Aman Hotel and Club within the One Beverly Hills project. Prior to joining Cain, Alan was the senior vice president at Lincoln Property Company as the head of development for the Los Angeles market. Previously, Alan worked for Clarett West Development/DLJRECP as the head of design and construction for Eastown and el Centro, two of the largest mixed-use developments in Hollywood. Prior to Clarett, Alan held roles at Barker Pacific Group and Bovis Lend Lease, delivering projects across Southern California, San Francisco and Miami. Alan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.

Alex Bertman

Alex joined Cain's Real Estate Equity team in 2022. He is currently overseeing the redevelopment of the Delano Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla. Before joining Cain, Alex worked for CTF Development as director of design and construction where he was responsible for overseeing the development and openings of Baha Mar, Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons, Rosewood DC, and Rosewood Calistoga. Prior to CTF Development, Alex worked for Standard International and Andre Balazs Properties as a senior project manager, where he was responsible for overseeing the openings of Standard East Village and Standard London. Alex holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute.

Alexa Baviello

Before joining Cain International, Alexa worked for Panagram Structured Asset Management as an executive assistant and office manager, where she was responsible for providing professional and personal support for c-suite executives and ran the daily operations of the office. Prior to Panagram, Alexa worked for Eldridge as a senior associate, where she was responsible for supporting the structured products division of the investments team. Panagram is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Eldridge. Alexa holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a Bachelor of Arts in communication, with a focus on personal and professional development from SUNY Geneseo. Alexa is a commissioned Notary Public in The State of New York.

Alvin Chen

Before joining Cain, Alvin worked for Gensler as a senior project architect and technical director, where he was responsible for leading the design team to realize large complex mixed-use projects that meet the goals of the clients and the local communities. Alvin is a registered architect in the State of California and a member of the American Institute of Architects. Alvin holds a Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic State University Pomona.

Amber Grant

Anita D'Aleo

Arthur Jennings - Managing Director

Arthur joined Fortwell Capital Limited in 2016 as head of development finance and was instrumental in the development of the business. Ayal Cohn

Ben Tooley - Managing Director

Ben joined Cain in 2019 initially to focus on the repositioning of a central London property. His role expanded in 2021 when he became a full-time member of the team with a broader remit across our U.K. portfolio. Immediately prior to joining Cain, Ben worked for Summix Capital and Marick Real Estate, where his remit included leading on all aspects of development lifecycles, from origination to operational assets. He has been responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of developments including the extensive modernisation of Bush House, the mixed-use redevelopment of Brixton Town Hall, city offices on Fenchurch Street and a modular hotel in Manchester. Prior to this, Ben worked as an LPA Receiver for Stanley Capital Advisers, for global property consultancy JLL and the contractor Lendlease. Ben is a member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and he holds a Batchelor of Science (Honours) degree in construction management.

Her projects ranged from large retail developments to multi-family residential, healthcare campuses, and commercial spaces. Brittany is a licensed professional engineer in the State of California. Brittany holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Loyola Marymount University.

Callum Butler

Camilla Wiggin

Cathy Burrell - CFO

Before joining Cain International, Cathy worked for Westfield as a senior vice president of design, development and construction & airports, where she was responsible for management of the accounting and finance activities of their U.S. development pipeline. Cathy holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern California and has completed an executive leadership program at the UCAL Anderson School of Management. She is also a board member and treasurer of a non-profit swim club in Southern California, a board member at Paul Revere Middle School and a girl scout leader in Greater Los Angeles.

Charlie Hollingsworth

Before joining Cain, Chern worked for PwC, where she was a manager in the financial modelling and data analytics teams within the Transaction Services group. During this time, she worked with large businesses and private equity clients across a range of industries, providing insightful analysis and financial modelling expertise during various stages of the deals cycle. Prior to that, she was a senior associate in the Real Estate Deals Tax team, where she completed the ACA qualification. Christopher Saverino

Daniel Harris

Daniel joined Cain International in 2017 and leads the firm's investment origination and execution activities across the UK and continental Europe. He brings over 20 years of real estate fund investment experience and, since joining, has overseen the implementation of Cain's European fund strategy, initial capital raising and the execution of new investments across key markets in Europe with a combined multi-billion dollar GDV spanning the office, logistics and residential sectors. Prior to joining Cain International, Daniel was a managing director at Tristan Capital Partners for seven years, where he sourced and closed over 2.5 billion of transactions. Before that, he spent five years with MGPA, as head of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), opening MGPA's regional office and specialising in regional acquisitions. Prior to MGPA, Daniel worked at Heitman for three years. In February 2010, Daniel was awarded Professional of the Year at the CEE Retail Awards. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Anderson and holds a Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Leeds.

Before joining Cain, Daniel worked for Angelo Gordon as an associate on their real estate debt team. Prior to Angelo Gordon, Daniel worked for Seven Valleys, a large single-family office, where he was responsible for underwriting both debt and equity real estate transactions. Daniel began his career at Terra Capital Partners where he focused on asset management of the firm's loan portfolio. Daniel graduated cum laude from Cornell University, where he received a Bachelor of Science in applied economics and management.

Devon Hale

Devon joined Cain in September 2017 bringing with her nearly five years of experience in operations management. Devon is the office manager in New York and provides administrative support to Cain's U.S. Real Estate Equity team. Previously, Devon worked at Lenox Advisors, having joined from Northwestern Mutual, where she held the role of associate financial representative and operations manager. Devon has also worked closely with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Arkansas, acting on the Honorary Race Committee from 2013-2015 and as 2014 Honorary Survivor Race Chair. In 2014, Devon earned the title of Hot Pink Hero for individual fundraising. She holds a degree in history from the University of Arkansas.

Edan Marks

Elizabeth joined Cain International as General Counsel in 2017 and is responsible for the firm's legal and compliance matters. Elizabeth was instrumental in preparing the firm for registration as a registered investment adviser with the SEC and became the firm's Chief Compliance Officer in 2018. She also holds directorships across a number of Cain International's investments, including One Beverly Hills, The St. James and Swingers Crazy Golf's expansion into New York. Elizabeth has over ten years' experience in financial services and investment management. Prior to Cain International, she was in-house counsel at Eldridge, a private investment firm with investments across a wide variety of industries, including real estate, hospitality and entertainment, media, and insurance. Prior to Eldridge, Elizabeth was in-house counsel at Cain Hoy Enterprises, the predecessor firm to Cain International. She began her legal career on the leveraged credit desk at Guggenheim Investments, the global asset management and investment advisory division of Guggenheim Partners. Elizabeth graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in english and received a Juris Doctor from The University of Richmond. She was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 2010 and is registered as in-house counsel in New York. Elizabeth earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation in 2013.

Ella Stanley

Ella joined Cain International in 2018 and is a team assistant for the Real Estate Debt team. Prior to this Ella was the receptionist at Cain International's London headquarters. Before joining Cain International, she spent 18 months travelling the world, spending time in New Zealand, Australia, and South East Asia. In Cambodia, Ella volunteered at a local school, where she taught English as a foreign language. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in photography from Southampton Solent University.

Ellen Brunsberg - Chief Investment Officer

Ellen Brunsberg was appointed Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Cain International in September 2021. Prior to that, she worked as a consultant to the firm for a year. In her capacity as CIO, Ellen works across Cain International's investment portfolio and is a permanent member of the firm's investment committee. Her focus is on enhancing the portfolio's risk and return potential, capital allocation and oversight of strategic opportunities. Ellen brings thirty years of operational, lending and investment experience. Prior to consulting for Cain, she served as the Global Head of Fixed Income Product Strategy at Blackrock from August 2018 to August 2019. Prior to that, she worked at GE Capital Real Estate, where she served in roles including the Chief Executive Officer and President of GE Capital Real Estate Europe and Head of Capital Markets for EMEA. She sourced and executed GE Capital's largest acquisition in Europe and managed the $28 billion sale of GE Capital Real Estate to Blackstone in 2015. Prior to that, Ellen worked at Morgan Stanley for 18 years in both New York and London. Ultimately, she headed the Securitized Products Group for Europe where she ran the origination, execution and risk management for real estate lending, infrastructure finance and asset-backed trading. She is known for creating innovative financing techniques for private and public capital markets. At Morgan Stanley she oversaw $15 billion in investments and managed a team of 700 individuals located in six European countries. Ellen received her undergraduate degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Ellen Hooper-Doku

Ellen joined Cain International as office manager in August 2016. She brings with her years of experience as an administrator, having previously worked as a team assistant for Bird & Bird LLP in their intellectual property department. Prior to this, Ellen spent 13 years as a personal assistant to the managing director of Foster & Cranfield, a specialist financial auctioneer. Ellen is passionate about volunteering for various causes and regularly works with Crisis, the UK national charity for homeless people, and the NHS. Her proudest moment, outside of the office, is having performed in the opening and closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics.

Eric Morgenstern

Eric joined Cain's Real Estate Debt team in 2023 and is responsible for leading asset management efforts across the U.S. real estate debt portfolio. He brings over 10 years of experience in acquisitions, originations, development, and asset management. He has been involved in various large-scale projects incorporating multiple asset classes such as residential, hospitality, and mixed-used assets in the U.S., and has experience across the capital stack encompassing both debt and equity investments. Before joining Cain, Eric was a director at RMWC, where he was focused on the sourcing, origination, and monitoring of preferred equity and mezzanine financings for developments throughout the U.S. Prior to that, Eric was on the real estate investment and development teams at Centennial Bank and Toll Brothers City Living, respectively, where he was responsible for executing transactions with a focus on new development or substantial redevelopment. Eric began his career as a management consultant in EY's financial service advisory group covering REITs, investment managers and banks. Eric holds a Master of Science degree in real estate finance from New York University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree from the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University.

Eric Poretsky

Eric joined Cain International in April 2017 and is responsible for overseeing the firm's US real estate investments. He brings over 20 years of experience in acquisitions, development and asset management and has been involved in various commercial, residential, hospitality and mixed-used assets both in the US and internationally, across both debt and equity led investments. Eric's previous roles include senior vice president at The Witkoff Group, a US real estate investment and development company, where he evaluated and structured real estate investments, managed operations with capital equity partners, supported capital raising and oversaw development and asset management on large scale real estate projects across all major property sectors. Prior to The Witkoff Group, Eric was a director at Strategic Value Partners, a privately owned $6bn investment fund manager focused on distressed and deep value opportunities, where his role was to source, evaluate and restructure real estate debt investments and value assets. He was previously a vice president at Starwood Capital Group and an associate at Brown Brothers Harriman. Eric holds a Master of Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, University of California (Berkeley) and a bachelor's degree in mathematical economics, magna cum laude, from Colgate University.

Evelina Zerva

Before joining Cain International, Evelina worked for Mount Street as an asset manager, responsible for managing a portfolio of 19 loans of a private alternative lender. The loans were backed by real estate located in the UK and Europe. Prior to Mount Street, Evelina worked for European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as a portfolio manager of syndicated, participated and bilateral deals. Evelina also holds a Master of Science in finance and management from the University of Essex and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Patras.

Ezekiel Mudzi

Before joining Cain International, Ezekiel worked for BNP Paribas Securities Services as an associate director, leading a team of over 15 professionals providing administration services to various private equity funds. Prior to BNP, Ezekiel worked for Deloitte in as an audit manager, where he was responsible for financial services external audits. Ezekiel is a Chartered Accountant registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants Zimbabwe and is also a CFA Charter holder. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in accounting from the National University of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe).

Gary joined Cain International in 2015 and has since overseen all finance aspects of the company's UK & European corporate and investment entities. Previously, Gary had spent six years at TH Real Estate (Henderson Global Investors), initially as corporate financial controller and then a European retail fund senior finance manager. Before that, Gary was at BNP Paribas, Bank of America (MBNA) and Barclaycard, having started his career in practice in Bolton. Gary has been a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants since 2007. He holds a bachelor's degree (Hons) in accounting and finance from Liverpool John Moores University.

Gary joined Cain International in 2019 to head the tax function and provide taxation support across the business covering the group and its real estate, private equity investments, and lending across the UK, Europe, and the US. Before joining Cain International, Gary worked for Barings as a director of tax for real estate where he was responsible for the tax structuring and compliance of the various real estate and alternative investment funds. Prior to that, Gary worked for several Big Four accountancy firms in their real estate and asset management teams advising clients on tax structuring, compliance and transactions across the real estate and alternative investment sectors. Gary is a member of the Association of Tax Technicians and holds a Master of Laws, a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce, all from the University of Melbourne.
