KEITH ACKERMAN
Updated 23 days ago
Patience, diligence and an appreciation of the passage time informs the process of Keith's work. For him, carving stone, is both a philosophical and practical investigation into the qualities of the material itself. The chemical and geological origins of the stone he carves are analysed and studied to inform the formal outcomes of his work. Taking the natural qualities of his chosen material to their logical conclusions, and exploring and enhancing these, Keith presents stone as something elemental, robust and yet ultimately nebulous and fleeting when seen against the vast passage of time.
