A task force of local citizens evaluated the feasibility of this proposal and, once agreed, the Green Knight Economic Development Corporation (GKEDC) was formed in March 1999. The GKEDC, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, is made up of a Board of Directors who are citizens of the boroughs of Wind Gap and Pen Argyl, and Plainfield Township. Directors are volunteers and serve without monetary compensation... The Green Knight Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation focused on providing help to organizations located and operating solely within the Pen Argyl Area School District. Our gas-to-energy facility, the Green Knight Energy Center, was constructed using local firms and labor, and now serves the community in turn by funding community non-profits and student scholarships with money earned through clean energy generation.
