Ana Carolina Hohn is an attorney with the Health Care Litigation practice group of Katz Korin Cunningham. Originally from Littleton, Colorado, Ana grew up in Carmel. While attending Purdue University where she double majored in linguistics and law & society and double minored in French and Portuguese, Ana studied abroad in Strasbourg, France. During her studies at the Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Ana participated in the Robert H. Staton Moot Court Competition, was named to Order of the Barristers in 2019, and competed in the Austin Rendigs National Product Liability Competition.
Fluent in both French and Portuguese, Ana holds an Advocacy Skills Graduate Certificate, is a recipient of the Dreamers Scholarship and is a Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar.
An attorney with Katz Korin Cunningham, Angela always knew that she wanted to practice law. In high school, Angela participated in a career shadowing program where she spent a few weeks at her local prosecutor's office. This was her first glimpse at a legal career. In college, Angela participated in Butler's pre-law society attending career panels and visiting law schools. Once time for law school finally rolled around, Angela knew she wanted to stay in Indianapolis, a city she had grown to love. Angela graduated from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of law where she was a member of the Deans Tutorial Society and the Evening Vice-President of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Society.
Angela practices in the Health Care Practice Group at Katz Korin Cunningham and focuses her practice on the defense of health care providers, namely long-term care providers, in cases alleging medical malpractice in courts throughout the State of Indiana. In addition, Angela assists with the appellate briefs for the Health Care Practice Group, including the Correctional Health Care Practice Group where she represents medical professionals in the correctional setting, primarily in cases alleging medical malpractice and civil rights violations in federal court.

Barb Killian is Of Counsel with Katz Korin Cunningham's Health Care practice group. She offers a great deal of health care experience obtained through both private and public practice, consulting, and as V.P. Operations for a national healthcare compliance consulting and software company. Barb has represented hospitals, hospital systems, nursing homes, and other providers, large and small, throughout the United States and served for several years as in-house counsel with a large Indiana health system. Barb concentrates her practice in regulatory compliance, privacy and security, risk management, contracting, administrative and civil litigation, and emergency preparedness and response.
For the past several years, Barb served at the Indiana Department of Health as its first regulatory compliance and policy officer and as special counsel for emergency response. Among other notable accomplishments, Barb helped developed Indiana's syringe services legislation and additional harm reduction programming in response to the opioid crisis, convened several state agencies to develop protocols in compounding and infection control and injection safety for physician clinics, and played an integral role in Indiana's COVID-19 response. She also co-chaired the state's health equity policy and communications committees.
Prior to law school, Barb worked in corporate communications and television as a producer/assistant director/scriptwriter. Notable jobs included Assistant Director of the Hoosier Lottery Show, Big 10 Basketball, Colts Football, and the Indianapolis 500. Barb also served as Scriptwriter and Assistant Director for the Pan American Games and served as Communications Liaison for the Indianapolis Super Bowl Committee.
Brian Park is a partner with the Health Care practice group at Katz Korin Cunningham. Brian concentrates his practice on representing hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers in all manners of litigation and general legal advisement. He handles a wide variety of matters ranging from medical malpractice actions, license disciplinary investigations and complaints, commercial litigation, administrative proceedings and judicial reviews, and general civil defense.
Brian began his legal career defending governmental entities in civil litigation, working in both public and private practice. This provided an invaluable base of legal experience, as it provided mentorship from seasoned government lawyers and the opportunity to manage a caseload in state and federal court. His government litigation resume includes successful constitutional defenses of several Indiana statutes, including the Right to Farm Act (Indiana Code § 32-30-6-9), Indiana's municipal dual-employment prohibition (Indiana Code § 3-5-9), and Indiana's major political party statute (Indiana Code § 3-5-2-30).
Prior to joining Katz Korin Cunningham, Brian was legal counsel for several state agencies, including the Indiana Board of Medical Examiners, the Indiana Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, the Indiana School for the Deaf, and the Indiana Integrated Public Safety Commission. Brian's background representing these state agencies has led to a thorough understanding and familiarity with the laws, rules, and procedures governing license disciplinary matters of health care professionals.
Brooke Smith works primarily in the litigation practice group at Katz Korin Cunningham with a focus on business and employment litigation. Brooke represents clients in all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit advisement through jury verdicts and appeals, and post-litigation issues.
Brooke's background encompasses practicing in diverse areas of law including complex federal litigation, civil rights, criminal law, family law, administrative law, and personal injury law. As a result, Brooke understands the interconnected nature of complex legal issues and is well-suited to assist clients in navigating difficult situations.
Brooke grew up in Columbus, Indiana, and attended Indiana University Purdue University - Columbus. After graduating with a major in political science and a minor in economics, Brooke attended the Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University in Indianapolis.

Mike and his wife live in Carmel and have two children, one who recently graduated from Carmel High School and one still attending Carmel schools. A retired greyhound and a golden retriever round out their family. Mike cheers for the Butler Bulldogs, Chicago Bears, Cubs and White Sox, the Fighting Illini and the Indianapolis Colts. The Kerschners have been season ticket holders for Butler men's basketball for more than 20 years - Go Dawgs!
Chuck Niblick is an attorney with the litigation team at Katz Korin Cunningham. He focuses his practice on insurance defense, insurance coverage, asbestos litigation, and environmental litigation. Chuck represents insureds - both individuals and entities - in motor vehicle accidents, dog bite cases, employer liability cases, premises liability cases, and products liability cases, including cases involving alleged asbestos exposure. He also represents insurance companies in declaratory relief actions, underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage cases, and bad faith cases. He has prepared coverage opinion letters on behalf of both insureds and insurance companies.
Since being admitted to the Indiana Bar in September of 2015, Chuck has dedicated his career to being the most prepared litigator and advocate for his clients, including attending the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum's Trial Advocacy Skills College where he honed the skills necessary to effectively run a trial on behalf of his clients.
In his spare time, Chuck enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle with his wife, Brittany, and their two dogs, whether that is trail running, hiking, or backpacking.

Dawn has more than 20 years of experience in the legal field. She has experience in insurance defense litigation with a proficiency in medical record reviews and summaries. She has experience in the areas of corporations (including initial corporation set-up, dissolution, mergers and acquisitions), bankruptcy, and collections. She earned her paralegal certificate from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis in 2013. Dawn went on to earn a Law in Liberal Arts degree in 2019 from the IU School of Liberal Arts. Dawn is the Co-Chair of the Litigation Section of the Indiana Paralegal Association and was named New Member Paralegal of the Year in 2019.
Dennis Cantrell has extensive experience in all aspects of civil litigation including: products liability, professional liability, asbestos litigation defense, construction defect litigation, mold litigation, bad faith litigation, insurance coverage, third party defense, environmental and other insurance coverage. Dennis was former National Coordinating Counsel for Environmental Coverage Litigation for a major property and casualty insurer.
Doug has built a growing practice representing medical professionals in a wide range of capacities, focusing primarily on cases alleging medical malpractice and violations of the constitution. Doug has handled numerous complex medical cases in state and federal court, taking many cases to verdict.
The son of a correctional officer, Doug was able to take his experience from years of being around those who serve in the correctional setting and apply it to his practice, primarily handling cases in federal court from the moment he received his license. Through the years, his practice has grown to include cases alleging medical malpractice, deliberate indifference, excessive force, unconstitutional conditions of confinement and retaliation, violations of the ADA/Rehab Act, due process violations, intentional torts, and many others.
Today, Doug handles cases in the state courts of Illinois and Indiana, as well as representing clients in the Southern and Northern District federal courts of Indiana, and the Southern and Central District federal courts of Illinois.
While he has significant experience handling cases in state court, the primary focus of his practice is upon representing clients in federal court, specifically representing medical professionals who are sued by incarcerated or detained individuals for violations of their civil rights under 42 U.S.C. Section 1983.
Additional areas of law include police officer use of force, breach of contract, general tort liability, premises liability, auto accident, slip and fall, civil battery, infliction of emotional distress among others. He has tried numerous cases, such as when a physician was accused of deliberate indifference for treatment of a hand fracture, improper delay of a dentist in treating acute dental conditions, and a nurse accused of excessive force in the treatment of an uncooperative patient.
Dwight L. Miller is Of Counsel with the business law practice group. Dwight focuses his practice on transactions, general corporate, commercial, lending, and real estate legal matters. Dwight has practiced both with law firms and as an in-house attorney. Prior to joining Katz Korin Cunningham, he was in private practice with a Chicago boutique business law firm and, before that, with a small Indianapolis law firm.
Dwight began his practice in Indianapolis with full-service law firms, working with companies in many industries, including manufacturing, health care, financial services, communications, and real estate. These businesses ranged in size from small, privately held businesses to large public companies. As part of that practice, Dwight worked with executives, business unit leaders, in-house attorneys, and others throughout these organizations. As a result, he is quite comfortable serving as "outside" general counsel for small and mid-sized companies who need legal counsel for a variety of day-to-day matters and who require an attorney to manage their other legal needs, such as litigation matters.
After more than 15 years of private practice, Dwight transitioned to a senior in-house position with a medical device manufacturer. Subsequently, he was General Counsel for a global manufacturing company, a diversified holding company, and a non-profit. As a senior in-house attorney with responsibility for all aspects of legal support, Dwight has developed valuable client-side insight as he worked with both outside counsel and internal decision-makers. This experience has helped him develop an ability to provide practical legal advice that helps clients to mitigate legal and related business risks.
Dwight grew up in Muncie where his father was an independent business owner. He graduated DePauw University and The University of Chicago Law School, and lives in Carmel with his wife and son (who is away at college). Dwight enjoys traveling, exercising, and reading.
Jarrod Malone focuses his litigation practice in the area of professional liability defense with particular emphasis on the defense of physicians, hospitals, dentists, lawyers and law firms. He has tried cases to verdict involving premises liability, ophthalmologic, internal medicine and complex surgical matters.
Mr. Malone handles civil rights claims and the defense of complex general liability matters involving catastrophic personal injuries and insurance coverage litigation. Mr. Malone also litigates employment-related matters in federal and state courts, including claims alleging violation of FMLA, FLSA, ADA, ADEA, ERISA and Title VII, as well as non-compete and breach of contract actions.

Jeffrey A. Hearn is Of Counsel to Katz Korin Cunningham where he concentrates his practice on real estate transactions and business law.
Jenna represents clients in all aspects of litigation, primarily focusing on business disputes and appeals. Jenna also has experience litigating environmental, insurance coverage, and other complex civil litigation. She has also represented and advised clients in professional licensure matters before various regulatory bodies in Indiana.
In her free time, Jenna volunteers with various local organizations, and sits on the board of the Indianapolis Shakespeare Company.
John Fleming advises clients using a practical, real-world perspective. In addition to twenty years of experience in the legal industry, John previously served as president and managing partner of a commercial real estate company. He successfully started, grew, and sold that company and is able to bring that unique experience to bear in all of his legal representation.
John represents lenders, borrowers, investors and businesses in complex financing, business, and real estate transactions. He has extensive experience in lending, capital markets, distressed assets, and commercial real estate. In addition to his standard representations, John brings his operating and practical experience to bear on behalf of creditors by acting as a receiver from time to time.

John has extensive experience representing contractors in construction related litigation. John has successfully litigated construction disagreements ranging from disputes with homeowners to multi-million-dollar lawsuits up and down the owner, contractor, sub-contractor, and surety chain. John provides comprehensive legal services to numerous local, statewide, and regional home improvement service providers including builders, roofing contractors, interior remodelers, damage restoration companies, and bathroom remodelers. John often guides his clients through legal compliance issues arising under state construction and consumer protection laws and frequently defends contractors alleged to have violated them.
John also regularly advises his clients on the often-perilous relationship between contractors and their customer's property insurance company to maximize insurance recoveries available to pay for the contractor's services without running afoul of the prohibition against public adjusting. John also works to streamline the collection process for his clients by formalizing processes at the outset to eliminate common customer defenses in order to maximize potential recovery through the mechanics lien and collection process.
John is a regular presenter at continuing legal education seminars on attorney ethics. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association Legal Ethics Committee and the Indiana Board of Law Examiner's Committee on Character and Fitness.
John earned his B.A. magna cum laude from Wabash College prior to receiving his J.D. magna cum laude from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University Indianapolis. He is licensed in the State of Indiana, with court admissions in the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
Outside of the practice of law, he's an entrepreneur and founded a sports equipment design and manufacturing company. John invented a number of products and has numerous patents ranging from electronic control mechanisms to wireless communication technologies.

Kathryn Watson has been an environmental lawyer in Indiana for more than 36 years in a career that has encompassed private practice and government service. Kathryn has served in a variety of roles in government, including legal practice and management positions at the state and local levels, which allows her to assist clients in private practice with a wide range of environmental matters including site remediation, underground storage tanks, air, water, waste, wetlands, and stormwater. Her practice areas include compliance, permitting, remediation, enforcement defense and litigation. Her previous experience as a commercial real estate attorney also makes her uniquely able to assist clients with the environmental aspects of property transactions.
In January of 2021, Kathryn became an Adjunct Professor at the McKinney School of Law at Indiana University's Indianapolis campus teaching "Clean Air Law".

Kaylee Conley is an associate attorney with the business transaction law practice group. Kaylee's practice focuses on representing financial institutions in commercial and industrial financing deals, real estate transactions, and construction loans.
A native of Muncie, Ind., Kaylee attended Indiana University's Bloomington campus for her undergraduate studies. After graduating with a major in political science and a minor in business, Kaylee attended the Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University in Indianapolis. While attending law school, she served as an executive board member for the Women's Caucus organization and helped organize their annual auctions benefiting local Indianapolis organizations. Kaylee participated in the Robert H. Staton Moot Court Competition, where she was named to The Order of the Barristers in 2019. She was also selected to hold a position on the executive board of the moot court competition and participated in national competitions.

Michael J. Gabovitch is managing partner of the firm and chairs the firm's business/real estate practice. He concentrates his practice in business transactions, real estate and government practice. His real estate experience spans the entire spectrum of representation - from individual home buyers and sellers to the nation's largest retail real estate developer.
Mike feels privileged and honored to serve his clients and his community. He believes in providing all of his clients with personal and caring legal services, whether working with individuals on their estate plans or preparing loan documents for a bank. He believes the first step in representing clients is listening to and understanding their concerns. Mike is committed to telling his client's story and protecting their interests in a document without legalese.

Mike Blinn is Of Counsel with the business litigation group at Katz Korin Cunningham. Mike focuses his legal practice on representing clients in business disputes.
Before joining Katz Korin Cunningham, Mike was a Deputy Attorney General, representing Indiana state agencies and employees in all phases of state and federal civil litigation including employment, tort claims, and civil rights claims under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
Immediately prior to that, Mike was in-house counsel at a global manufacturing company. There, he developed valuable client-side insight as he worked with both outside counsel and internal decision-makers. Mike was responsible for all aspects of legal support to business units in India and the Americas, including sales and procurement contracting, personnel matters, and risk management, and supported the sale of his division to a large automotive supplier.
Prior to that role, Mike worked at two Indianapolis litigation boutiques, where he gained years of experience successfully representing clients in complex business litigation and professional-liability defense.

Mr. Cunningham leads the firm's Health Care Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in health-care dispute resolution including trial practice, regulatory advocacy, commercial litigation and arbitration. Mr. Cunningham has been admitted pro hac vice in fifteen states. He has tried and arbitrated numerous long-term care, medical malpractice, and commercial cases throughout the nation. Mr. Cunningham has extensive experience representing health care providers before governmental agencies including the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services as well as state regulatory agencies in sixteen states. He has provided legal advice and oversight on claims management and claims handling processes for large, self-insured health care providers. He is an arbitrator certified by the American Arbitration Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Mr. Cunningham currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana and serves as Chair of its Committee on Diversity, he is the Past Chair of the Long Term Care Subcommittee, Health Section. He is the Past Chair of the Indiana State Bar Association Diversity Committee. Mr. Cunningham is a certified arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.
Mr. Cunningham has made more than fifty national and regional presentations on health care-related topics and trial practice for many organizations, including the Defense Research Institute, the National Business Institute, the American Conference Institute, the Association for the Advancement of Wound Care; the Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics Conference. Mr. Cunningham is co-author of the 2007 book, Inside The Minds: Healthcare Law Client Strategies, published by Aspatore Books.

Rachel Johnson focuses her practice on the defense of medical professionals throughout all stages of litigation, including depositions, mediations and trial settings. The majority of her practice concentrates on representing clients in federal court, specifically representing medical professionals who are sued by incarcerated individuals for violations of their civil rights under 42 U.S.C. 1983.
Rachel was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 2012. Rachel has spent a lot of time in the courtroom during her career, including spending many years advocating for the due process and constitutional rights of parents and families within the child welfare system in Marion County. Rachel is also a registered Domestic Relations Mediator and Elder Law Mediator.

Ronald M. Katz is a co-founding partner of Katz Korin Cunningham PC, and leads the firm's tax, estate and business succession planning practices. He also remains actively involved in representing and advising clients involved in real estate development in the State of Indiana.
Tricia's interest in health care and medicine is both personal - her dad and two brothers are physicians - and professional. After graduating law school from the University of North Carolina, Tricia began her legal career in Atlanta, Georgia, where she practiced medical malpractice defense for several years before relocating to Indiana. Prior to joining Katz Korin Cunningham, Tricia served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of Indiana, where she represented various health care-related licensing boards and other state entities in courts throughout the state.
Tricia has represented clients in both state and federal courts of law involving a wide array of medical-related issues. Presently, she focuses her practice on the defense of health care providers in litigation and has extensive experience representing medical licensees who are the subject of consumer complaints filed with the Attorney General's Office.
Tricia is a mom to four young kids and spends much of her time chauffeuring them around to their various sports and activities. A native of northwest Arkansas, she is a die-hard Razorback fan and overall sports enthusiast.
