SHANDONG UNIVERSITY

This simple and elegant campus boasts a time-honored history. The School of Medicine can be traced back to the Medical School of Qilu University. As the main part of the Shandong Medical University, it is a school with the longest history in Shandong University. Being the inheritor of medical education of Qilu University, the origin of this school dates back to Dengzhou College founded in 1864. In 1911, the the main building Ji'nan Union Medical College was put into use, marking the starting point of higher medical education of Shandong University. In 1952, Medical School of Qilu University, Shandong Provincial Medical College and Norman Bethune Medical College of East China were merged to establish Shandong Medical College. Under the direct administration of the Ministry of Health in 1978, this college was renamed as Shandong Medical University in 1985.
