Alan Schnitzer is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Travelers. Schnitzer joined Travelers in April 2007 as Vice Chairman and Chief Legal Officer. He then went on to lead the company's Financial, Professional and International Insurance segment and subsequently the company's Business and International Insurance segment. He also oversaw Travelers' Field Management, Corporate Communications and Public Policy organizations.
Before joining Travelers, Schnitzer served as the company's lead outside counsel as a partner in the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he advised corporate clients on a variety of transactions and general corporate law matters.
Schnitzer is a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania and a member of the Board of Directors of New York City Ballet, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the Connecticut Council for Education Reform.

Andy Bessette is Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Travelers. Avrohom J. ("A.J.") Kess is Vice Chairman and Chief Legal Officer for Travelers. He is responsible for Legal Services, including Government Relations, as well as Corporate Communications, Public Policy and the Travelers Institute. Kess joined the company in December 2016 from the law firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he was a Partner, a member of the Corporate Department and Head of the Public Company Advisory Practice. He also served as Travelers' lead outside counsel, advising the company on a wide range of general corporate, transactional, securities laws and governance matters. Kess was a special counsel to The Conference Board Commission on Public Trust and Private Enterprise. He is a frequent speaker and an author on corporate governance topics. Mr. Otis served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Darden Restaurants, Inc., the largest company-owned and operated full-service restaurant company in the world. He became Darden's Chief Executive Officer in 2004, assumed the additional role of Chairman in 2005 and served in both capacities until his retirement in 2014. Mr. Otis joined Darden Restaurants, Inc. in 1995 and served in various roles with Darden, including Vice President and Treasurer, and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

Dan Frey is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Travelers. Dave Rowland is Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Investment Officer for Travelers, a position he has held since August 2019. Rowland is a member of the company's Management Committee. He served as Executive Vice President and Deputy Chief Investment Officer since October 2017 and oversaw Travelers' $70 billion fixed income investment portfolio. Rowland joined Travelers in 1996 from Piper Jaffray Companies, where he was Vice President in the fixed income group. He also leads the BI Business Centers located across the country that create capacity at the local level and provide customer solutions that make it easier to do business with Travelers. He previously worked for nearly 14 years at The Hartford in senior product and underwriting roles in Personal Insurance and Commercial Lines. Greg Toczydlowski is Executive Vice President and President, Business Insurance for Travelers. He was previously President of Small Commercial, Business Insurance Technology and Operations. He was also Chief Financial Officer for the independent agency distribution channel within Personal Insurance. Since joining Travelers in 1990, Toczydlowski has held various positions, including responsibilities within systems, finance, underwriting, product, marketing and business development. Joan Woodward is Executive Vice President of Public Policy for Travelers and President of The Travelers Institute. She is a member of the company's Management Committee, Operating Committee, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Committee, and also serves on The Diversity Council, and the Travelers Foundation Board.
Woodward joined Travelers in 2008 from Goldman Sachs to establish The Travelers Institute as the company's thought leadership and public policy platform.
Prior to her current role, Woodward worked at Goldman, Sachs & Co. for ten years, where she was the founding Executive Director of the company's Global Markets Institute, the firm's international public policy and institutional investor educational platform. She also served as Founding Director of Washington Equity and Bond Research for Goldman Sachs' Global Investment Research where Institutional Investor magazine recognized her as a top Washington analyst for investors.
Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Woodward worked on Capitol Hill for 12 years, as Deputy Chief of Staff for the U.S. Senate Finance Committee working for Chairman Bill Roth, where she was instrumental in creating the Roth IRA. She also was the Chief Economist for the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee and the U.S. House Budget Committee under Chairman John Kasich.
She serves on the Board of Directors of Plunk, a technology company; on the United States Chamber of Commerce Foundation; is Vice Chairman of the Board of the RAND Institute for Civil Justice; and a member of the President's National Small and Medium Enterprise Export Council. Ms. Thomsen served as an Executive Partner of New Profit, Inc., a venture philanthropy firm, from 2006 to 2010, and she served on its board from 2001 to 2006. Patrick (Rick) Keegan is Senior Vice President and Chief Underwriting Officer for Travelers. Rick has more than 30 years' industry experience. He started his career in 1986 as an underwriter for a large national personal lines carrier and then worked in corporate risk management at a Fortune 100 company before joining Travelers in 1995. Peter Heard is Executive Vice President, Enterprise Distribution for Travelers. He is responsible for the overall development and execution of the company's distribution strategy. Heard started with Travelers in 1984 as an investment analyst, and in 1991, he entered the company's three-year rotational Financial Management Leadership Development Program. In 1994, he joined National Accounts as an account executive and was later named Marketing Director and Managing Director in New York City. He served for 10 years as Vice President of National Accounts, Northeast Region. For 22 years prior to his appointment as Commissioner, he was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Northington Partners Inc., a venture capital and investment banking firm. Before Northington, he was head of the investment banking and venture capital divisions of Conning & Company and President of Beneficial Corporation's insurance subsidiaries. He began his career as a litigation attorney in Connecticut.

Bill Malugen is Executive Vice President and President, National Accounts for Travelers. He began his career at Travelers in 1981 as a Commercial Lines underwriter and has held Regional Vice President positions in Field Marketing and National Accounts. He holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in business administration from Middle Tennessee State University. Bill Heyman is Vice Chairman of Travelers and serves as Chair of the company's Investment Policy Committee. He served as Chief Investment Officer of Travelers from May 2005 to August 2019. Prior to that, Heyman was Chief Investment Officer of the company's predecessor, The St. Paul Companies, which he joined in May 2002 from Citigroup, where he was Chairman of Citigroup Investments. He was previously a Managing Director of Salomon Brothers and Director of Market Regulation at the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Heyman graduated from Princeton University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and Harvard Law School. He was Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) until July 2020. He is also a member of the Investor Advisory Committee on Financial Markets of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Heyman was appointed by President George W. Bush in 2007 as a director of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), where he served for four years.
